  1. @ivory What's an effective way to do this? I personally used to read one book per week too but I feel like even that is too much - it can take weeks, months, and even years to really implement what's written in a book. The simplicity and easy practice of reading can be taken for granted and cause mental masturbation imo
  2. I'm currently making a dreamboard, but I can't distinguish the authenticity of my desires. How can I listen to my heart or my higher self to know what I authentically want? I feel emotionally disconnected from myself. After realising that all of my ambitions prior to studying the material here were all negatively motivated. Living my Life Purpose to avoid working a 9-5. Living my Life Purpose because I can't imagine doing anything else. Living my Life Purpose because I want to be financially stable. This is back when I had no idea what a Life Purpose was. I just got lucky with having a lot of talent and trusting my inner muse hence my success in what I'm doing. But the passion later died out and turned into these negative motivations. Now that I've realised that these were negative motivations, my ambition died. I used to get my joy from judging other people's positions and being "grateful" that I'm in a better position, and that it could be worse. Now that I've realised that this is a toxic perspective, I've been feeling empty since I'm so used to this paradigm. No joy, no pleasure, no sadness, no grief, no boredom. Nothing. Is this for the better? Is this just the process of myself rewiring?
  3. @Setzer901 That’s what I’ve been intuiting after thinking about it. I’ll just trust the process
  4. Arete (to be the most one can be) Responsibility (taking 100% responsibility for everything that happens) Flow (the concept by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) Execution (less theory, more application) Can these be core values? Also, how can I best identify my toxic/negative values and get rid of them?
  5. @Origins I don't really understand what you're saying here. Can you give a summary of the message you're conveying?
  6. It seems like a lot of people here are focused on progressing through the stages as fast as they can after learning a little bit about Spiral Dynamics. But if you are only focused on progression, then the neglect of solidifying the lower, "primitive" stages would leave shadows in your development. It's like building a shaky mansion with weak walls, waiting to be broken down when life throws you a curveball. Look at it like a wholearchy rather than a hierarchy The strategy then, is to focus on solidifying the stage you're currently at AND all the stages below. Then by exhausting your desires, naturally wanting to move up the stages. For example, if you're currently at Stage Orange, then focus on solidifying Beige-Orange before you try to advance into Green. Hope this helps people who have the wrong idea of the model If anyone has any other opinions, suggestions, or objections, I'd love to know
  7. Awesome What do you mean by this? Example?
  8. I feel like I've learned about Enlightenment prematurely. I'm still in high school. Ever since I started learning about Enlightenment I've been overthinking everything. I seem to have lost my motivation for my Life Purpose. All I've been doing is mentally masturbating, having thought loops that I JUST CAN'T STOP. Even after getting some advice from people on this forum. I guess I need to integrate stages Beige-Green before pursuing Enlightenment? In the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs video by Leo, he says (loosely) to get my basics survival needs to be sorted in my 20s and 30s so that I can fully pursue self-transcendence in my 40s. Even after listening to this advice, in the back of my head it makes me feel like this Life Purpose work is pointless, and what I really want is Enlightenment. To stop my overthinking, I've tried meditation, brute-forcing myself into action. But nothing seems to fix it. I'm really in need of some advice on what I should do. A generalized game plan for my life I suppose. Most importantly, how to stop ruminating
  9. How long have you been pondering this? Just trust that it'll subside. If these thoughts come up, try not to act on them. Treat your thoughts like trains. You can choose to get on the train, or to not get on. If you do find yourself getting on the train, you can get off. <3
  10. Why is there nothing I can do? I can change my inner game and circumstances to change how I feel, right? Could I message you about The Dreamboard? I have some questions.
  11. @Nahm What do you mean by backdrop? So if I wanted to be the happiest and most fulfilled I could possibly be, I wouldn’t be able to get it through enlightenment alone, right?
  12. Is there a concrete way to measure it? This doesn’t sound very grounded.
  13. @Nahm Cool. How does one know if they're making progress in becoming enlightened anyway?
  14. I think I now understand what you're saying here. So you're saying that if I were to only be doing enlightenment work (self-inquiry, many hours of meditation, etc.), without Life Purpose work, then I'd be practicing and hoping for Enlightenment to occur without much sense of progress, which can happen spontaneously and isn't exactly something I can envision. However with the latter approach, I'd have a vision to strive for (Life Purpose). In which It'd be easier and faster to have enlightenment to occur as I have a clear-cut vision. Is this what you were saying?
  15. @Nahm Thanks. I’m really just overthinking. I managed to get out of this overthinking rut for a day but fell back in. Where can I find it?
  16. I think you missed some words in the sentences, I don’t understand. Someone asked Eckhart Tolle “What gives enlightened people motive to change?” Eckhart used an analogy of sitting in a bus. Where he was currently seated, there was someone bothering him by making a lot of noise, coughing, etc. But there was a free seat across where he was sitting. So he didn’t just accept sitting where it was inconvenient, he preferred to sit on the free seat so he did so. But if there was no free seat, then he would just accept that there was no option and be content with that. Could that example be used here? If I was awakened, and I didn’t have a Life Purpose or mastery in anything, would I be motivated to cultivate one simply because I would prefer it and for the fun of it? As if I was playing with lego? If so, would it be a good strategy to continue putting my all into my Life Purpose right now, so I can save a lot of work for when I do awaken? Because I’d likely want to cultivate it even after awakening?
  17. Enlightenment exercises, self-inquiry and contemplation?
  18. How do I apply awareness? Could this be an example of applying awareness to gossip?: They are talking shit about George because they are bored and they find it fun to talk shit about George.
  19. Also I’m pretty sure he said it in one of his videos. Because it’s ego gratification? Right? How does Life Purpose help with Enlightenment/the fastest way to Enlightenment? I don’t mean to be pushy, but I just want a firm answer.
  20. @Gesundheit Why would I integrate low consciousness?
  21. @Gesundheit @Bulgarianspirit I am not interested in any of the things my peers discuss. It's all low-consciousness (gossip, pointless things, etc) I feel like I'm wasting time when I socialize with them. Though this would be different if it was about things I'm interested in. I'd much prefer the latter. Besides, Leo doesn't advise young people to take psychedelics. But how is this so? Isn't Life Purpose a distraction from enlightenment? I'm not disagreeing with you, I just want to know.
  22. At 17:21 of the video Subtle Addictions, Leo says that Productivity/Efficiency can be a subtle addiction. But this is an example value in the Master Values List in the Life Purpose course. Is it meant to be there? The video was made a couple years after the LP course was released.
