  1. @Barbara i was a heavy people pleaser in the past and i still struggle with this sometimes, i think you got the point right: If you are a people pleaser you are being selfish as fuck, not the other way round. You basecally play a character that plays a character beacause you are fearful to show your true personality, disires, faults. You don't want to create contrast because you don't want to be judge. So you put a mask on and be a passive coward. I'm coming out of this by giving a direction to my life. If you don't have goals and the guts to fight fot them then other's poeple agendas suck you dry and you find your self emiting those fible "yes..." to everything. The best thing to do is to take responsability for that. I am leaving many friends on this path and that's the best thing i can do right now for me and them
  2. @Patrick_9931 i recommend using the search function whenever you have a question, since countless topics have been open about spasms and the like. If you scroll the topic table you find the Kriya Yoga mega thread, with los of valuable information. Anyway, yes, involontary movements seems to be pretty common expecially if you do energy work or concentration practices. Practicing Kriya i experience shakings my self. And it can also happen when you slow down the breath and calm the body. In this case when you go below you normal level of agitation, you may have an overload of energy, that manifest itself out through movement. Just make them happen unless they become to annoying. I know it might be difficult, but when your having sleep paralysis just try to calm the body you'll enter sleep state again rapidly, don't to move and rest. Don't change the practices based on the negative expectation that you have about their effects. Just follow the description in the book. Don't make stuff up. The first 4-5 techniques don't require you to be awere of any energy. It's just breathing and concentration.
  3. @lmfao That's how i do it. Just imagine, with eyes closed towards the point between your eyebrows, you have an eyeball located in the medulla and from there cast a sight-line forward, cutting through the center of your head and lending at the point between the eyebrows. Why he tells you to do that? these are my guesses: 1)it creates a connection between the back and the front of the head. 2)Rather than outside/inside, this method creates an inside/inside concentration, which makes you more aware of what's phisically inside of your head, this is very important in kriya, since right at the center of the head is placed the 6th chakra/pineal gland.
  4. @StateOfMind When it comes to "Why questions" it's pretty difficult to give an answer that sounds satisfying to the ego. Diogenes summarizing Heraclitus's philosophy, states; "All things come into being by conflict of opposites, and the sum of things flows like a stream". When duality is born also ignorance is born. Why does it appear to function this way? exacly because of ignarance haha, it's a strange loop. Why questions only arise because the imperfect ego wants, due to ignorance of its nature, to give rationalize and give meaning to experience. it does that for survival. I know, i know, this doesn't answer your question fully, but that's exacly the point. The thing is, when we become full infinity and duality disappear, so does the question!
  5. @Leo Gura During your nights out, would you deliberately approach and get intimate with girls that you don't genuinely find attractive just for practice? In the biginning, being a vergin, how did you behaved with girls who maybe were already experienced with sex? Doesn't this topic show up until bed or it should be talked about early on? Is it a turn off?
  6. notice that this reasoning is imagined. a story of separation between an imaginer and the thing imagined is created/imagined in your experience. Notice your belief that there is a separated sentient being imagining things outside of your experiance. This is imagined and believed. Whatever you believe your brother is experincing, he does. As long as you are believe there are two point of views Imagination gets as real as you are imaginig it to be. perfectly flowing chains of causations are also imagined. You are implicitly refering to imagination as disconnetted and fuzzy thoughts(as they happen in your mind), so "it shouldn't effect me". A dog bite hurts, nontheless is a generated circumstance: the dog, the bite, the pain. To say say that something is imaginary doesn't mean that it is not real, but that it is generated/created/constructed.
  7. widen the throat for inhale and constrict it for exhale. but now i realise that wasn't your problem haha. If you still feel exhausted after some weeks, atleast You could leave for last the techniques that don'require deep breaths, like concentration.
  8. During Om japa i feel a certain energy building in the area of the spine on which i concentrate, like a warm tension with an oscillatory quality. It can get stronger on the First and second chakra area, to the point that it can last the whole day. i can sense a milder vibration on the higher chakras, but only is if put awareness on them. Never used them for meditation, at some point i'll give it a try. I'm considering using earplugs. i perform Ujjayi by simply constricting the throat like i should whisper for the whole breath. Belly out for inhale, in for exhale. I know KYS suggests to use the double position, but most sources i've consulted don't mention it and it works fine. I can assure you that once you've gained enough lung capacity it will be easy. in the beginning i couldn't complete 2 stretches without feeling exhausted, now i can do 9 with ease. i use Ujjayi breathing, just without the abdomen movement. I Noticed Mahamudra creates a strong link between Muladhara and the Third Eye, so it's pretty important.
  9. After 3 month of practice I think it's time to write down and post my experience. To start, think it's important to mention that I'm 23 and I never meditated or done any spiritual practice before. My session as of now consists in: 1)Nadi shodhana x3 2)Ujjayi pranayama x6 3)Mahamudra x3 4)Om Japa x6 5)Kriya pranayama x12 6)Concentration 15/18 min. I can sense the following: - Chakras vibrating - Prana through through the spine - Third eye opening/pulsating as concetration improves - shakings and hints of light durings during concetration practice - i experienced in a few sessions hints of different states of consciousness, expecially during K.p., as awerness narrows in the spine. - generally, after every session i feel more attentive, calm, energized and "elevated" than when i sit. Must be noticed that i have a few hindrances, my diet is not perfect, i have high libido and i dont meditate in the quietest environment(family around and television, but atleast silance is decent if i close the door's room) I'm still at the start, but these little clues makes me think i'm on the right trajectory, so i'll keep practicing. New update in 3 months
  10. @levani i have experienced s. paralysis beteween 15 and 25 times, usually having gone back to sleep right after waking up(to pee for example), or when i try to sleep but i'm not really tired. Voice doesn't come out and sight is unfocused. never had hallucination. When i realize i'm paralyzed, first i try to move some muscles, and see if i can wake the body, i'd say that 30% of the times i succeed and i can move again. When this is not possible, i try to relax, close the eyes and usually after some seconds/minutes i'm back in a normal deep sleep/dreaming state. The key is not to freak out and focus on rest, giving up the desire of moving. @PurpleTreei can confirm,it cartainly has a link with anticipation and intention. i will probably expererience it tonight because of this discussion
  11. mmm...difficult to agree on this. it is true that a deep understanding of love can manifest through the action of a person in various ways, but here the discrepancy between walk and talk is just too big in my opinion. Very hard to believe that he had some kind of relization, otherwise such hateful attitude would have subsided.
  12. i just see a kid with a pretty good predisposition for philosophy class playing poet before resolving his emotional traumas in tragedy. he probably didn't really bother to sit down and contemplate his own writings. Many poeple can be good abstract thinkers, but often they lack the introspection to deal with concrete personal problems. By looking up in the sky, they avoid confrontation with reality. i made a quick research and i find out that he was said to be depressed after many failures, having STPD and being heavily paranoic. According to his writing he thought everyone hated him. He also mention to hate himself. When he says to be God, i think means that had realized that he had the power to atleast do what he did, since his life was so fucked up (in his mind).
  13. i've practiced kriya for about 2 months and a half now, and i get vibrations, pulsations and shakings aswell. as to why this happens, i'm not sure, but i can try to give a logic explanation: From what i understand, the spine has a very sensitive structure, and funcion has dispenser of impulses that come from the brain, that are the put in action through the rest of the body. in fact it should be the first structure that is formed in the fetus after the brain. The spinal cord inside is also strongly linked with the nervous sistem. It is a sort of "controller" for the body. So to work on it in Yoga, by just putting awerness on it, means to bring to light the enourmus activity(gathering of impulses, processing, ridistribution,) that is already there. and i think this results in the effects that you mention. Then this so called energy, initially dedicated to "lesser" activities, such as sex, eating, feeling emotions, has to be moved up the spine to its original place, the brain, so that is not all spreaded to make the body-mind function. With practice, you become able of carrying so much energy that you transcend the body-mind contruct an you get an awakening. I'm not still not a big expert so i may be wrong, take this explanation for what it is
  14. I'm 2 months and a half into practice, and i can tell you i already can sense the following: - Chakras vibrating - Prana through through the spine - Third eye pulsating as concetration improves - shakings and hints of light durings during concetration practice - i experienced in a few sessions hints(maybe gateways?) of different states of consciousness, but when it happened fear got me and i lost them. - generally, after every session i feel more attentive, calm, energized and "elevated" than when i sit. I practice as the book says(details are important), and for now i haven't noticed any contraindications. i think the important is that you don't jump to the advanced techniques without following the process. so for now i can say that you can definitely see improvements in Yoga by following a book. is it enough for enlightenment? i cannot say for now. If you intend to practice, i can only raccomand to start with the thicker one! as it contains more theory. i have the little ones too, but the author supposes you know many things already. i'm just a newbie so take this words lightly!
  15. real/unreal is a duality that is functional to our day-to-day task, but when it comes to spirituality, and especially magic, it certainly is an hindrance. this are full courses with theory, exercises and ritual. i raccommand to research more about the ones you find the most interesting Also this guy often publics great material, so give a look at his channel. I practice Kriya Yoga, which has many tecniques that have something to do with moving energy in your body and after my sessions i ALWAYS feel more energized, alert and attentive than when i initially sit, but calmer at the same time. Magic has many exercises of the same kind.
  16. yes, in the end the magician, the magic he performs and the entities he evokes are all part of a greater whole, but even you deeply know that, there still a reason for working with beings. in magic they often function as catalizers for a certain type of energy, wich then, anthropomorphized, is easer to handle for the magician's purpose. even if you are conscious you are imagining them, you still remain somewhat effected if you vividly immagine Archangel "X" to grant you a certain power. Of course they are immaginary, but as much as your parents and friends are immaginary. Still you give them the power to effect you, even if just in a subtle way, don't you? the mechanism is pretty logical. There probably is a moment in wich you get so good at imagining and performing rituals that you will struggle to understand what's real and what isn't, until the duality collapse.
  17. 1) If someone experience suffering, that someone has to be believe he exists as "the sufferer". This is a construct. i think this can be decontructed through introspection. 2) Work on compassion towards yourself: take some of the most painful moments in your life, and notice how they contributed to lead you to your realizations, try to notice how you gained experience from those circumstances. If your authenticity feels great, is because in the past you weren't authentic.
  18. Leo is usually very honest and frequently speak about his, limitations, flaws and biases, in his videos and in the forum. So this critique doesn't hold ground. you are over-exagerating. For what i remember He simply pointed out that Floyd resisted authority before his death. Which is true. If we are to analize the situation, we cannot just remove this factor from the picture, because with correct conduct things could have gone differently. You might be even Jesus Christ, but if you give dating tips you must play on the ego's ground. What spiritual advice would you give to a 17yo that doesn't know how to convince his crush to copulate
  19. @SuperfluoResearch about these books, i haven't read them but they are pretty well known in this field: The Psychology of Kundalini Yoga The Chakras: Kundalini Yoga As Taught By Yogi Bhajan Layayoga: The Definitive Guide to the Chakras and Kundalini The Serpent Power: The Secrets of Tantric and Shaktic Yoga Kundalini Tantra
  20. a japanese warrior lived in different times, where war was often the only way in wich political drama wold end. Militar competance was higly regarded because the neighbours tribe or countries could attack you at any moment. No diplomacy like now. it was a matter of suvive or being killed. This means that a Warrior, even if enlightened, would honor his duty for the sake of future stability. So war and fight is not hinerently bad. It from the point of view. in 2020, 1st w. countries are at a level of development in wich they can afford to dispise war because we have ingeneered new ways with wich we can solve conflicts. By today's western standards anyway, it is true that an awakened one is much less likely to be a soldier, bank robber, gang member, gambler etc, even tough it doesen't mean they don't have to survive. There is a big difference between, for example, eating and punching a granny, even if they are both selfish actions.
  21. You mentioned trying to cure the ailments of the world from the Godhead....so what do you think it takes to bring the infinite freedom in creating and restructuring reality that it is possible in the finer states of consciousness TO the more gross levels where mind and body manifest? In other words, do you think that perferming miracles is possible in our dual reality? If yes, what are you missing to get there?
  22. One doesn't exlude the other hehe. On the the other hand , i would say that given the vastity of the universe, it's hard to emagine life forms not interested in our planet.
  23. But why wouldn't they want to "interfere" with our developement? Sure, many people would freak out, but if they have the instruments and are benevolent they could help us enormously. Given that they already made contact with us, and that they don't officially show them self, i don't think this makes a possible answer. The only circumstances in which this could be the case is if they want to study our evolution through the centuries , or the they simply want to enjoy the shit show Fantasizing a bit, i came up with these other 2 options: 1) their contact could represent a Phisical/Mental/Spiritual threat to us (ex. the bacteria they could bring) 2) their way of communicating makes it impossible for them to start a dialogue with us.(For example, they could exchange information through biochemichals, or psychic powers).
