  1. This post comes with a bit of sad news because my friend told me that my other friends didn't want too hangout with me anymore because I was being douchey. I don't want to make this post about me so I'll just say that I'm really sad and confused. Are there any high quality books, seminars etc. that can help me understand friendship and how to have the deep understanding with others I crave. I feel like it's secondary nature for others and for me it's so difficult. It's harder than getting laid. Especially books on male social circles would be really appreciated.
  2. It's a long story, but yesterday I was hanging out with some crips. I was scared shitless the whole time. I feel like I wasn't as scared of stage red people before learning about spiral dynamics. Now that I know what they're capable of, I'm afraid of saying the wrong thing and getting beat the fuck up.
  3. @Terell Kirby It was a college party, and somebody invited crips. Also, I'm from the Bay Area, so I would like to know how to deal with stage red, because the majority of the homelessness population is red
  4. @Eren Eeager @Opo At one point one of the crips made fun of me because they were trying to get with a girl I brought. I'll include it cuz it was kinda funny: Crip: "What you do around here, get faded and shake yo booty?", *nods to his friend* "We should pimp this n*gga out". Obviously, I felt embarrassed and sad, but like what was I gonna do, talk back? I didn't want them to be like "What you say bro?" followed by an ass whooping.
  5. @Opo They would probably laugh at me if I started talking about green stuff, but I'm more curious about how to deal with them. There are a ton of stage red people in America, especially where I'm from.
  6. I would say I'm 40-60% stage green, but the music of stage green is emotionally unbearable. I listen to stage orange music- pop and rap, but whenever someone plays or I try to listen on my own to stage green indie music, my body physically reacts. Why is it so damn emotionally uncomfortable.
  7. @Sempiternity Ok look. 30 hours to explain the level of consciousness of every human being on earth, NOT ABOUT THE SPIRL DYNAMICS OF MUSIC. Earlier, I said that you could probably find examples of music listed on the spiral dynamics website or book. Leo literally saids examples of music genres/artists that are examples of the stage he is talking about. I'm not interested in some technical gotcha, the vast majority of music can be placed into the categories listed by spiral dynamics.
  8. @Carl-Richard @Gregory1 Also songs that inspire social change, like Bob Dylan, or that "if I had a hammer song". I do really love some stage green music. It fills you with love
  9. . @Gregory1 People compromise their core all the time in the music industry to sell an image or make money. This is usually the stage orange corporations who force them. @Sempiternity You're trying to inject nuance into something that's not very complicated. Spiral dynamics is a model, being detailed is not its specialty. Music wise, love and peace is green. Music about killing people is red. I guarantee that if you were to look on the website or in the book, their would be artists or music genres listed as examples of the stages. @Hello from Russia Tribal Music- Purple, N.W.A-Red, The soviet anthem-Blue, EDM-Orange, John Lennon-Green @Javfly33 The majority of society is low conscious. The fact they listen to songs with lyrics like that is more proof
  10. @sleep Authentic rap, for instance is red, but unless black metal is about shooting people and raping woman, it may be harder to classify. @Javfly33 look guys, it's an alpha @Sempiternity It's not an individual factor, it's all factors combined. I get that you like music, and music does have the power to transcend words and pierce our deepest emotions- BUT, don't think that it's above spiral dynamics. If a stage red, blue, orange, green person makes music they suddenly have the ability to go beyond limiting beliefs and stigmas they have?? Don't fuck with me. Music is a reflection of what stage you are. @RickyFitts that actually might be the truth, right there.
  11. @Matthew85 Stage orange music as in produced by record companies for the purpose of making money, and stage green music as music produced by an individual artist (or sometimes with the help of a record company) but more so with the intention of making music that comes from the core and triggers deeper emotion. Also, why would this mean I'm not interpreting my stage of development accurately?
  12. I'm an incoming freshman at a fairly orange university (University of California, Irvine). Because I am trying my best to push myself out of orange and into green, what are some green organizations I can join. I ask because I am going to the club fair tomorrow. Here are the two things I came up with: -Volunteering (tutoring kids in south central) -Smoking weed I wonder if there are communes or specific majors that are green. Maybe I can have a green friend group. Please give me some more organizations in the comments.

  15. @Stovo I'm not saying he's anything, but it's a mystery to me why he chooses to live in Las Vegas of all places. @gettoefl Thanks
  16. @Stovo @Preety_India I don't really get the impression he's in the market for friends. Leo strikes me as the kind of guy who wants to do his own thing, alone. After all, his whole world is online. Also, Las Vegas was built by the mafia, and is mostly known for gambling and prostitution. At worst the people there are stage red; at best they are orange. Stage green people do not move to Vegas, they avoid it.
  17. In his stage orange video Leo talks about how being in a more natural environment will make you more spiritual because it makes you more connected to earth. He then goes on to criticize people for living in metropolitan areas like Tokyo and London for going against their human nature and living in a concrete jungle. But, this dude literally lives in Las Vegas. Why is that
  18. I'm pretty bad at making friends. I've only ever had one real friend. The friend groups I have been apart of have all designated me into being that one guy who's always getting roasted. In my past, I prefered one-on-one friends or female friends. But, at my core I'm masculine. I want other male friends who are like-minded and whom I can talk about my mission with. Previously, I've been on the bottom, I want to reverse that. (Resources?)
  19. @Bando Rather than weakness I think I'm a rather ditzy character. A lot of times I'm unintentionally funny because I lack awareness of my surroundings. This leads to roasting. It's a hard life
  20. @Chew211 Fetish is a good way to put it lol @RendHeaven YES. My idea of building a friend group revolving around our unique missions isn't my idea (it's from a book called way of the superior man). I feel as though the killer mentality which brings forth emotions like ambition and passion, is the true embodiment of masculinity. This is what woman are attracted to, and it also makes men feel good about themselves. However, if you're very emotionally vulnerable like me this emotional state is very hard to maintain. When I get roasted by others it de-thrones me, and I feel more and more shitty about myself. Until I can figure out how to make it stop, I will never be the person I want to be.
  21. @Chew211 I'm very jealous of people who are naturally the leader, as if god had the grace to just appoint them to lead. They lead naturally, and they have a powerful aroma at all times. How is it possible to accomplish this?
  22. I just had this realization while eating the new BTS meal that came out. You have to turn your mind off to enjoy it.
  23. I recently watched a Bojack Horseman episode where one of the characters said to Bojack, "is it possible you don't want to know yourself, or know others?". This spoke to me. Over the past couple of years, I've improved my self-esteem to the point where I have moderate to low social anxiety. And, I have confidence when it comes to certain things, like attracting girls. I feel as though that I'm a stranger to myself, and the relationships that I have with others only skim the surface of what they could be. The conversations with the "friends" I had at school were very shallow, usually small talk and then conversation about events or other people- otherwise known as boring and unfulfilling conversations. I'm not looking for a commenter here to solve this problem, because I think this points to more deeper psychological issues. I would like for someone to share a resource which would help me overcome this problem. P.S. I was bullied throughout middle and high school, and I didn't feel loved by my mom growing up. The bullying especially brings me great shame, and it feels like I'm lying to others when I don't tell them about what happened.
  24. I never got into it because of twins who are born on the same day and have polar opposite personalities. Also, I don't like the idea of how the month you are born in explains EVERYTHING about your personality.
  25. I've been doing the same for the past few days. No reply from my crush :(. She's pretty popular, so I may not get on her feed for tinder, but if she saw me I feel like she would match. Oh well. I'm taking the day off today, because I felt like it.
