I have 2 children aged 8 and 10. In 2 years my eldest will go to Secondary school. I can see that the current system is inflexible and based mainly on memorizing information to later be regurgitated and then forgotten after the exam,
I am looking at a more holistic, practical and skills based approach to education from the ages of 12 to 16. I have already found schools which provide a more humane way of teaching such as Waldorf or Steiner, but they cost around 700euros a month.
Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to these systems that could teach in a different way?
I live in Spain, but I would like to know about this topic on a worldwide basis.
