Exactly my point. Tech has a really good side and access to conscious growth has become all the more easy due to it but the use is a problem. The majority including me use it as a sedative, a medium to avoid pain. And that's sad, really.

I too started a thread stating a similar question long back since I more than anything wanted to introduce the concept to my brother, i still want to. But Someone told me on this forum that that was my vision for him, not his vision for self and you can't force something on to someone. If you're really into this and you really want to create awareness you can start to stimulate the other. But only if you really really care. Maybe give them a book or talk to them about their problems. When they'll realise that your solutions are real and solid, they would be naturally curious . Just like most people said, Lead by example. What I try to do is I try to engage in small conversations with my brother, I try to go on walks with him and talk in his language, the way he likes it. I've stopped introducing this as a "concept" although I know one day he will be listening to Leo with his headphones on but I want him to get curious about the conscious growth by himself. Stop caring about people who really doesn't care for that is eventually going to impair your growth

Honestly I don't want to since the digital world is ever expanding, is overwhelming and is asphyxiating. Sure It has a good but I think the dark side just overshadows it

I just came across this and it reminded me of this thread

"In this constant battle of which we call living, we try to set a code of conduct according to the society in which we are brought up ... Tradition becomes our security, and when the mind is secure it is in decay." - J Krishnamurti

Wow. This. Is. Real. Growth. @PJSTYLES This is the perfect advice. Usually people don't go for this since it's time consuming, requires you to delay gratification and is hard work. Very hard actually. But this is something very solid, permanent and fulfilling

This is something which I myself find struggling with but I believe the trick is in finding your own balance and prioritising. You can't study each and every subject inside out although you do can study them to the extent you find is useful. Studying every subject, to an extent is important and also fascinating for it will help you to connect the dots and understand the big picture. My favorite subjects include deep inner work (emotions, authenticity, motivations, meditation, PEACE etc.) along with fitness, relationships, psychology and my life purpose. What you can do is you can choose 4-5 areas of life you want to study inside out like really extract all the juice out of it, others you can study as you wish, you don't have to go in depth but yea you can have a general idea because that would help you to connect the dots. This is one thing I've personally noticed in Leo that he has in general knowledge about every field, from the behaviour of chimpanzees to the hindu religious beliefs. He knows a few, actually quite a lot of subjects in depth and others, in general. Just an idea of every facet that exist. Find your own balance.

You can't decide your authentic self. You can't plan it or wish what it would/should be like. In my opinion you can only discover it. Of course it is created unconsciously in the process of conscious self mastery but I believe you can't wish Authenticity to be a certain way or type. In fact authenticity itself means something which is very genuine and is itself. It just is. one way to get closer to your authentic self is Brutal self honesty and acceptance. And in my opinion the perfect you does not exist. Or maybe you can consider the peaceful and happy you, the you who is passionate about life and the you who loves self and life unconditionally as the "perfect" self.

@Whywolf I know right?! I love the channel and their ability to provide deep meaning in just five to ten minute video. Most people have short attention span so yea it's a good attempt to provide quality messages even and especially to those who would otherwise avoid listening to longer videos also I'm amazed by the knowledge which they have.

Mine isn't very heroic but I very clearly remember the day. I was hosting the farewell of our seniors and there were more than thousand individuals, all from different schools including our chairman and some international delegates. I had stage fear back then. I had a small bible reading and the verse was literally drilled in my head but when it was my turn, I completely went blank. My legs were shaking and I knew that I was about to puke, right there. Everyone was staring at me and more than anything I was shocked. My teacher quickly hinted me and I made it somehow. But the next few minutes in the washroom were the worst few minutes of my life. I was puking and was experiencing almost phsical pain. For a girl with high stage fear and self esteem issues and also someone who constantly idolise that 'I don't make mistakes or mistakes are bad' , yea it was a big deal. But then I realised I had my hosting to complete. The teacher was calling me and there I was, sitting on the floor, crying. I already had esteem issues and the incident had terrified me to the core and I didn't wanted to go back on the stage facing the same people. But then, I don't know how and from where, something clicked in me, almost naturally and I collected myself, took a deep breath, washed my face and decided to complete my work. I still remember I wasn't thinking anything, my mind was empty and I don't remember feeling anything. I was just waiting for my turn. I went on the stage WITHOUT THE MUCH NEEDED SCRIPT, and completed my hosting. I did it anyway. And I think I did a fairly good job. even after completing the hosting I wasn't thinking anything. I was..at peace. I didn't talk or think. I was just, at peace. The incident taught me quite a lot about myself and has only given me more confidence. Doesn't sound very heroic but it was indeed, one for me.

Also check out the channel. They make short but deep and quality videos on different aspects of life.

I agree and I'm all up for women empowerment but I believe that a man plays an equal role in the making and when the two come together, which is a very rare occurrence, something highly valuable, lasting and above all, powerful is created. But I don't think our society is very accepting of the idea.

This one thing right here can make all the positive difference we crave for. We need to really shift our focus from education to all to quality education, even if it's meant for limited masses cause then they can go ahead and provide quality education to all. But it sounds very dreamy and idealistic.

I used to use Facebook as my emotional crutch, it was my favourite tool to avoid work and Pain. You can keep scrolling the thing and it never fails to satisfy you. However it has its own set of, a very small set of benefits. You can literally find anyone and everyone on that website. Also it's good for promotional activities and just like one of the individuals said, good for business. It actually pretty much depends on how you use it. I know monks and sages who are on Facebook and they help people through that tool. So it depends. Because most of the people don't have the awareness and because they don't know how to use it that most of the Facebook feels stupid

I agree with a few points, especially the fact that VR will dominate our lives and handling our lives will become all the more challenging. Leo once said that our culture is an expert at spoiling us and spoon feeding us and I realise this almost everyday now. One of the possibilities is that a very small percentage of us will be very rich and others will be suffering really bad. Or people will ditch the regular 9-5 job trend and switch to startups. Being different will become the new common. Competition will be ..overwhelming. It still is but I guess it will move to a whole new level. One thing for sure is that technology will dominate our lives and AI will take over the world. Only yesterday I read it in the newspaper that a quantum computer was in process which will work a Million times faster and I mean A Million Times, so I guess 100 years is a long time to make stuff which is at this point possible only in Doraemon. We'll be "happier" than we've ever been cause of our "progress" but at the same time, we'll come across diseases that we've never seen and wars we've never imagined and we'll all just sit and wonder as to why this is happening. It isn't my opinion, it's a fact. But I believe that there will be an opposite force which has and will always coexist. We never had something like Actualized.org 100 years ago. I mean there were people who were enlightened but access to them has become way more easier now and I think there will always be people who will make all efforts to create awareness. So yea awareness regarding the joke that we're playing in the name of advancement will rise but then so will population of ignorance. I believe it will become all the more difficult to do conscious inner work since we'll have everything we need to satisfy us, all very instantly There's nothing wrong with technology, it's just that we're not very good at handling the things that we have and are creating . And funnily, we're all up for super intelligent AI where there is a HUGE possibility that it can become smarter, intelligent and more dangerous than humans can ever be Nice thread though

Wow. I couldn't find a single comment without Leo's name in it. Either people are too obsessed with leo or they're too obsessed with the idea of demonizing others.

Don't mind but isn't that a very neurotic approach to look at this issue? I mean being attached is something which is very obvious and natural and forcing yourself to "act" a certain way when deep down you're still very attached, isn't that ..fooling oneself and going against self acceptance?

this man right here is trying to do every little thing that he can to make things better for the us. You continue to inspire us and remind us that one who really wants to, will find a way. Thank you for setting a great example.

This is very true. This is one reason why I find it difficult to get along with people since you can see right through them. But I suppose finding genuine people is worth the effort.

@Leo Gura if you could give just one advice, just one to a person you care for, what would it be?
-
I think authenticity is one of the most attractive traits, be it men or women. other traits may include - being independent, open minded and witty. I don't know but wit and wisdom, actually, can be very attractive provided that you know how to present it. Also people who take the initiative to give their contribution in making the world a better place are highly attractive. - most of the traits are already mentioned in the thread.

I just came across this. The topic of the talk is concentration. He has quite an interesting approach towards the topic. Must watch.

In his video titled How your mind distorts reality, in the very beginning, Leo talked about self actualisation where he stated that self actualisation to him and in its true sense, is a list of 20 very specific, concrete attributes which a self actualised person has which contrasts an ordinary person. These are ways of looking and interacting with the world. I did some research work but couldn't really find something meaningful. I'm sure that some of these attributes have already been discussed by him specifically but then it's a little difficult to connect the dots. I therefore request a video on this topic.
