  1. This isn’t exactly the kind of work anyone would proselytize to others. If you really want the truth bad enough, you’ll get it; if you don’t, you won’t. Simple as that, so there’s nothing to fear. Simply contemplate what it is you want; purify (as in make clear) your desires — that’s easily 99% of this work.
  2. I know this was a question for @NoSelfSelf but my username is similar so just making sure you know that wasn’t me I’m the one who did claim they experienced something similar to what you went through. You don’t really deal with it — this work can indeed be dangerous, but if all you care about is truth, well what are you going to do? If it is DP/DR then ground yourself — DP/DR is not a normal part of the path, though it can happen. Ego dissolution can be scary but I have the sort of personality that kind of just jumped right in with morbid curiosity. Maybe what worked for me will not be the best thing for you.
  3. "Grab the bull by the horns" the old adage goes Nobody tells you where to go from here Seems like fate's pulling you Decisions have to be made The best path is the hardest earned Back and forth the struggle consumes us all Trying to keep a level head In the most unsettling of times Today I become the bull There is so much at stake I stumble, I lose my place Pride and arrogance surrounded by sin Destiny takes its hold Fight it or let it go But I choose how today will end Go! Back and forth the struggle consumes us all Trying to keep a level head In the most unsettling of times Today I become the bull Today I become the bull This walk can get lonely I lose myself inside my head No one can touch you when you're outside staring in Remove myself from this rat race No! Back and forth the struggle consumes us all Trying to keep a level head In the most unsettling of times Today I become the bull Today I become the bull Today I become the bull Today I become the bull Today I become the bull
  4. Fear of no-separation when that's all there is already.
  5. Sure, but @Vzdoh had good responses from what little I read.
  6. Certainly can be, which is why many paths focus on meditative skill, stillness, and open-heartedness first before the more intense insight/inquiry work, so you have on-demand bliss to allay the fear.
  7. @fopylo Meditation, contemplation, etc. 21 might not even be a hard and fast rule, but Leo may strongly disagree.
  8. ^^ Of course it could also be DP/DR, in which case ground yourself in the way @impulse9 describes. Though it could just be a normal part of the path -- the experience of pretending to avoid the unavoidable.
  9. I had pretty much the same experience. There is literally nothing to fear though. The ego doesn't want to be found out to be nonexistent, so fear arises. When it falls away, it's laughable how you were ever scared of it happening -- it doesn't even really fall away, since it was never actually there to begin with.
  10. Psychedelics... Love is the whole game. Also maybe try Metta very steadily until then. You seem spiritually fit enough for psychedelics to potentially provide an utterly massive breakthrough -- infinite love.
  11. Animals never had self-consciousness. They are pre-enlightened. The loss of self-consciousness is re-enlightenment -- "human" enlightenment; enlightened of the unnatural state, back to the natural state, which animals share.
  12. Level and frequency of gratitude. Level and frequency of freedom from suffering. Level and frequency of responding rather than reacting. Degree to which sensations are just sensations. Degree to which it's recognized that you're never responsible for what appears, but always responsible for how you respond to what appears. Degree to which it's recognized that you have absolute authority over (your) reality as it is.
  13. The most powerful psychedelic experiences I've had were from ketamine + LSD combo. NMDA dissociative + 5ht2a psychedelic. I think iboga has both of those qualities... AND + deliriant -- the 3rd type of hallucinogen; anticholinergic. So it might actually be the single most intense compound. Not sure about most powerful in terms of insight though. "The most powerful psychedelic" is already a problematic mindset in a way, since there are so many other factors, such as dose, insight, skill, open-mindedness and open-heartedness, finesse and fitness, etc. After a few seriously complete God realizations on large doses, or combos, it can be done just as effectively with conservative doses of classic psychedelics -- my sweet spot is 110ug LSD-25 -- 6 years ago that would just be a cool trip; now it basically creates the entire universe, time completely falls away, etc.
  14. It usually looks like the top for me. But I usually don’t get freebase. The bottom looks like my n,n.
  15. Yet but as you’ll know it’s not that someone goes “yes that was surely enlightenment, I have thus attained it.” In any way that isn’t silly, anyway.
  16. Lol anyone who likes DPH is alien to me. It was one of the most physically unpleasant experiences. Not nearly as bad as a psychotic break but it nearly resembles psychosis and even in psychosis the body actually still can feel “well” — on DPH (or any deliriant, I’d imagine) you just feel like absolute death.
  17. Directly transcending the experience of solipsism. All apparently separate happenings, consciousnesses, and isnesses, are connected... by (and as) absolutely nothing. There’s no separation — nor enough for there to be real connection. I mean literally the perception that there are other people separate from you is an utter illusion, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t apparent other-selves.
  18. Obviously. It is a hallucinogenic drug though. Just like datura / atropine. It’s a deliriant.
  19. Over a decade ago I took a fairly high dose of diphenhydramine, which seems to be very similar to datura in effects. Hearing voices. Talking to people that weren’t there. Body felt so heavy it was almost impossible to move. Literally like my body weighed 1000 pounds. Unbelievably intense dysphoria. Mouth completely and painfully dry, yet sensation of drinking water was even more unpleasant... Visual field looked like waves. That was back before psychedelics really had any spiritual impetus with me.
  20. 2 step inquiry: 1. Am I (negative state)? Be brutally honest. The answer may be yes or no. Go with what feels right. 2. Am I really (same negative state)? The answer is always no. If the answer to the first is actually yes but you pretend it to be no (if you think that’s the answer since it’s the real final answer), then the real final answer won’t be revealed. So be brutally honest. The first answer, while unreal, is as absolute as the real one.
  21. Haven’t followed Loch Kelly much but I have some experience with mahamudra. Though I wasn’t really calling it mahamudra at the time, it was almost certainly what the word refers to. Essentially, dissolving the separation between inside/outside and foreground/background.
