  1. The Mind Illuminated, lots of practice, and various other resources which are relatively unimportant in comparison to the previous two items. Though Rob Burbea's Seeing That Frees was quite helpful when I was much more advanced.
  2. That's an assumption. Actually there is only nothing, and it apparently speaks (is speaking; is everything). It's not some thing. There's no separation. If there were ONE thing, that would mean there'd be a limitation outside of reality, because the infinite is not a thing, it's absolutely nothing and everything. There is only nothing = there is only everything = there is only oneness. There is only one thing = reality is truly limited (false). The jewel in the lotus points to the all-encompassing center that is everywhere and nowhere. Can't be found or lost. There's just unknowable life immediately appearing, or nothing being everything (merely points to the lack of a position or separation in which knowing can occur).
  3. Movement is just what seems to be. It's not separate from stillness. The only constant is nothing, which is everything constantly changing.
  4. Seeing repeatedly (thousands of times) that things aren’t as they seemed and aren’t as solid as they seemed. Relaxation. Love. Etc. My favorite book on the whole process, if one wants to go the meditative route, is Rob Burbea’s Seeing That Frees.
  5. Well that’s funny because appearance is all there is, and there’s no separation between what appears. Being god is what happens when you self inquire to the end, but that doesn’t end the dream. God realization almost has more to do with kundalini stuff than awakening lol it’s just a (very awesome and admittedly absolutely amazing and very interesting) dream. Liberation/awakening is the end of personal location and doership. There’s just what is. It’s just the end of the seeker which was not an activity, but an energy that can’t be grasped or even objectified or seen until it’s gone. It’s too simple to understand. We are talking about radically different things. I’m done here. Good luck. Enjoy your god realization.
  6. Username is a coincidence. Was into Ramana Maharshi at the time. There is no denial here at all. Being god is what’s appearing to happen — It’s just the absolute appearing as that. You’re speaking as if you’re not hearing me. I’m not claiming no self, there’s simply just what’s appearing. There isn’t “a no self.”
  7. The formless godhead is a concept — a name given to a particular appearance. When liberation happens, there is absolutely no sense of being located in or as anything, including the formless godhead.
  8. There's no separation and no real time.
  9. This can be kind of like a meditation retreat but for one's daily life routine. I've known seriously neurotic people who went to rehab or jail for an extended period and came out an entirely new person. One of them went in with an extreme skin picking condition and crack and heroin addiction (a naturally sweet guy whose neuroticism and addiction seemingly lead to him being sentenced for armed robbery) and then a couple weeks after coming back out, he was a personal trainer -- he passed away later on from a fentanyl overdose... relapse; first drug he'd taken in years... but that doesn't detract too much from the sentiment -- that he became otherwise non-neurotic, yet used to be very highly neurotic.
  10. I wouldn't use more than one at a time, but the ones I've actually seen positive effects from include L-theanine, pregnenolone, and glycine -- Tried many others a while back including bacopa and none really produced much of a change in relation to those three.
  11. I’m afraid you’re just not hearing me. If you being god is what’s appearing to happen there, then you being god is what’s appearing to happen there.
  12. No. There isn’t a reality in which all that could happen. If you want to call the lack of a reality “God,” be my guest.
  13. Nothing separates the 5 senses from each other, yet knowing functions to separate, precisely by connecting what is already not separate. This can make knowing seem special and paramount, and worthy of the label God. So awareness is reified and one recognizes they are consciousness/God. This is why some might say there is only one sense — God. But that is simply a state. There is no thing period, just formlessness being form.
  14. Sounds like mindfulness (which I’d recommend to nearly everyone) not enlightenment (which is more like getting struck by lighting and thus I would not recommend). It can be pointed to in a lot of ways but really it’s very simply the end of the felt reality of personal doership. A lot can be revealed in that, including the revelation that absolutely nothing is solid or knowable, and there’s no real context or limit, and there’s no separation at all, only the whole. You know how most people who contemplate heavily probably understand that there’s no free will, yet they feel they have it? It’s the end of feeling like you have it, because there’s no one left to have it.
  15. The thing that gets enlightened is simply obliterated, not made more awake or more conscious. If we are taking about the same thing and just using different words, God isn’t some entity — it’s absolute unbounded infinity without direction or purpose of any sort. The reason I refrain from using the term God is because it’s almost always going to be clung to as a real entity in the “higher states and stages of consciousness work” — it simply can very easily happen that people will think they’re God after/upon realizing they’re god, until the person is seen through. I realized I am God many times — they were still mystical experiences of ego transcendence. As you can probably imagine, God is a very likely resting place on the road to absolutely empty infinity. In the glimpses and god realizations, yeah there can be that indescribable timeless oneness, but then... when real-time comes back, there’s the reification of God as “some thing which I actually am” — all there is is all there is, and it has no solidity. It’s just pure emptiness, but nothing is needed so it’s very much unconditional love.
  16. There is no thing period. And yet? Here it is! ?
  17. There’s no separation left to run comparisons in. It’s all over as far as the real journey through time to some better place goes. There’s only unmoving wholeness and it’s over as it begins. “I” (story) wasn’t born in some past — not outside of a mere story. Everything is absolutely new and nothing has ever happened; there is no real story, only the appearance of one. Everything is no-thing appearing to be. No causality or other or meaning or context. Just boundless absolute “infinity-nothing” having no real limitation of any kind whatsoever, nor any need of any kind, including the need to know. Realizing you’re God is totally different, but can and does happen along the way. God realization is only an appearance. Of course, reality itself is only an appearance. There’s simply no separation — but that seems to mean nothing, right up to the point when it’s seen, which is paradoxically not a seeing... because of course it doesn’t happen — the very last moment before it’s seen is simply the last moment period. ?
  18. Diligent relaxed bright un-distractedness on the feeling of air in nose and the breath cycle, with full body in background awareness, is pretty damn good by itself. Can get into lower jhanas in a few minutes with some skill (at least months, probably years) with just that. For me specifically, the sign that an object is working well is that the sensations feel sharp yet smooth — and almost like a solid block of heavy, thick glass whose flat surface contour is the appropriation of the object’s spatial dimensions (which themselves can later dissolve completely). And solidity everywhere dissolves to at least some degree — e.g. hands can feel like they’re 20 feet from your head. That dissolving of solidity can go so far that the self clinging to the object is released completely — generally quite scary unless a lot of joy in the background from stillness and relaxation.
  19. At the moment your own personal enlightenment is released from possibility (taken; not by choice), the next moment never comes. Then depression can still happen, but without existential worry and without the expectation that things should (or could) be different.
  20. That's one way of putting it. But it's rather radical (though simple) because mystical experiences no longer happen. It's sort of the end of "aha so that's how it is!" in any ultimate existential sense because existence itself (and knowing, and context) are seen to be illusory. Everything is breathtakingly ordinary. There is only the unknowable view.
  21. Sure. It's just an appearance. However it appears is just as it is. It has no depth to it or truth beyond what it appears as. It's an empty appearance with no solidity or significance. Even the appearance of significance is not significant, because it's just no-thing apparently being everything that's appearing. And there's nothing outside of it, there is only wholeness, no real time, no real causality or context, and no real death.
  22. It can go a million ways but here's how it can go, and it's perhaps not very likely that it will be this way for any particular individual. The stages are largely concurrent but the order is somewhat meaningful. 1. Mystical experiences -- transcend ego to a small degree. Insights such as "through me, reality imagines it is judging itself." 2. Bliss on demand -- relax clinging 3. Relax awareness of any particular object; totally detach from objects -- panoramic figure ground reversal -- Witnessing 4. No separation; field syncs up with itself and there is no hidden sensation appropriating itself as a knower -- there's only wholeness and nothing can be done to get closer or further away from that. 5. Entire field is a philosophical zombie in a sense -- nothing is needed for the empty appearance to be what it already is. No more mystical experiences.
  23. Jessica Riddle -- Even Angels Fall You've found hope, you've found faith, Found how fast she could take it away. Found true love, lost your heart. Now you don't know who you are. She made it easy, made it free, Made you hurt till you couldn't see. Sometimes it stops, sometimes it flows, But baby that is how love goes. You will fly and you will crawl; God knows even angels fall. No such thing as you lost it all. God knows even angels fall. It's a secret no one tells; One day it's heaven, one day it's hell. It's no fairy tale; take it from me, That's the way it's supposed to be. You will fly and you will crawl; God knows even angels fall. No such thing as you lost it all. God knows even angels fall. You laugh, you cry, no one knows why But OH the thrill of it all... You're on the ride, you might as well Open your eyes You will fly and you will crawl; God knows even angels fall. No such thing as you lost it all. God knows even angels fall. Even angels fall Even angels fall
  24. You and I are the same unknowable emptiness. This whole no-thing never moves and there’s no separation to it. There’s no us and no universe, only unbounded timeless infinity.
  25. But it’s not that you are kissing yourself. You are kissing that which has the same source as you. There is no you or them really. There’s no separation and no self.
