  1. @electroBeam I’m not enlightened. Sorry if it came off that way. That statement, and also: “What’s your face before you were born?” and anything else really, is a nonsensical statement, because none of this is real. Or unreal.
  2. It can very occasionally be bad but at the level you’d ever have to be worried about it is the level at which bad means nothing...So you’ve got nothing to worry about. This can be taken in infinite different ways and none of them would be true. Let that sink in. In all helpfulness though, I can recommend none other than Rob Burbea’s Seeing That Frees if what you want to do is be as happy as you can possibly be. Also Culadasa’s The Mind Illuminated for a different but useful perspective (which can easily be conceived of as a necessary addition or even introduction to Seeing That Frees).
  3. This will never get over, could never get over, the fact that there aren’t 2 me’s.
  4. @4201 I feel like “you” are like a kind of mirror for this me-body over here. This just felt compelled to write that. Weird. I wouldn’t read into it. Edit: well any me would definitely read into it.
  5. The fact that you’re worried might actually mean “you’re going places.” Maybe use that as motivation ?
  6. It can't unify because there's already unification. It can't disunify because there's already apparent disunification. The supreme does whatever it does simply because... nothing. It doesn't need to. Everything happening means no-thing appearing as everything happening. There are infinite levels of infinity itself, which means there are no levels.
  7. Welcome to an incredible ride! In this hologram, anything is possible. There is even an apparent infinitely loving God-being, within which we are totally all just exactly the same, one being, God, existing in duality, which is the only existence there is... Except that's not all: existence, being duality, is NOT EVEN REAL It also isn't unreal! It's literally so amazing that you "die" right before/as you believe it.
  8. Everyone is so closer than close to having their ego costume (reality confuser) not be there, there's practically no difference to having it "on or off," and yet the apparent difference is also the absolute, and it cannot be taken off by an act of will. Psychedelics can help you realize this but the chances of it blowing this wide open are completely unknown, and the abidance of the resulting state is even more elusive. Italicized portion not 100 percent out of the dream/story, just no other way to say it in a remotely sensible way. And "chances" really doesn't mean much either, since everything not happening is as equally as likely as anything to not happen.
  9. Probably one of the most helpful things anyone's ever posted. But that's not enlightenment. It's ok though. Duality is survival.
  10. Beautiful. To anyone: Get out of God's way. But that's already happening.
  11. That’s the nimitta. Ignore it until it dances and expands, etc.
  12. Wonderful. Open-heartedness is more important than focus, for jhana. Also, steadiness is more important than intensity.
  13. It seems there’s not much to say. It’s just what seemed to happen. Nothing is feared but “suffering“ is still on the table. There used to be detachment. I’ve experienced several of the jhanas and they were quite breathtaking. For the self, I’d recommend jhana practice, as it’s unbelievably beautifully amazing. Tears of joy would be the greatest understatement of all time. Psychedelics such as 5meo and, for me at least, LSD, also would provide glimpses of ego death, where nothing has any meaning because memory is completely void and what’s happening is just simply happening. Like you’ve fallen into reality and there just simply is no you. When I didn’t have the insight to effectively deal with experience, and I was experiencing meaning, I had quite a few trips on ketamine + various psychedelics (combo) wherein there was immense (maximal) suffering — I was God and the devil at once, ending the universe. Only problem is I thought it was real, and that I had free will. God doesn’t have free will.
  14. Ultimate surrender is neither accepting nor rejecting. Which is of course only possible if no one does it. Luckily, that’s what is happening. What you seek is what’s already happening. But you can’t seek what’s already happening. There’s no you.
  15. I actually still use psychedelics occasionally but I think that may be an anomaly because my character was an extreme seeker. I was a heroin addict at one point. I was narcissistic to the extreme. There’s no suffering at all when psychedelics are used now. Just exploration in a sense. For the sake of it, or something. No idea. Who cares?
  16. Feerlessness and humility. That’s what’s coming up right now. Just mentioning those.
  17. @AlphaAbundance I’ve experienced maximal suffering from both psychedelics and dreams. And I really do mean maximal. Again: maximal. Hell. Hospitalized for psychotic breaks. And it killed me. All is well now. Technically you have nothing to worry about. Btw, anything can happen when you’re “enlightened.” It’s freedom from suffering in the sense that no one has it. That’s all though. It’s not rainbows and butterflies.
  18. Actuality is appearance as it is without meaning or purpose (or anything at all) behind it or beyond it.
  19. Close. What you left out is the question about whether she exists only in your imagination while you're interacting with her.
  20. If you're talking about heavy metal detox (mercury; lead; arsenic), the only way is to maintain a steady blood concentration of at least one double thiol chelator (ALA, DMSA, or DMPS) for a pretty long time, 3 days absolute minimum to be exact, but longer is WAY more efficient. It's not hard to do right but it's also very easy to do wrong. It's complicated stuff until it's understood in full. Those chelators also disrupt various other metal excretion pathways (metallothionein, etc) so you have to take preventative measures to keep copper toxicity at bay. And each one has completely different effects. ALA is the only one that crosses the blood brain barrier, some only chelate organic mercury, some only inorganic mercury, some work intracellularly, some don't, some chelate lead and mercury, some only mercury and arsenic... It's complicated. Onibasu / Andy Cutler is the pioneer for this stuff. http://onibasu.com/wiki/Cutler_protocol.html
  21. Sit and do nothing until you're just sitting. After some time, of doing nothing, remember you're there to meditate. Allow meditation to happen however it does. Notice how everything falls through the mind like quicksand. Is it even there? What do I know, anyway? Encourage feelings of well being with mere intention and patience. Perhaps smile. Allow the minute sensations of the breath etc to be felt. Interesting sensations arise in the hands most often for me because they're so subtle. Experiment with intention and allowing currents of joy to manifest. Eventually you might notice the breath is happening automatically and a weight may be lifted and you might shift into a state that feels reminiscent of ego death. Free falling through blissful breath after blissful breath. There's quite a bit of basic practical info on the jhanas in both Seeing That Frees and The Mind Illuminated. The jhanas are breathtakingly beautiful. You can help things along by experimenting with lenses; seeing phenomena as: impermanent, unsatisfactory, not-self, or empty (dependent and unknowable).
