Fun. Relaxing. Kind of like meditation but less engaged. I would put headphones on so he could play relaxing music and tell me a story about how my life would go well in the future. He had me put on some glasses with flashing lights and I'd lay on a recliner while he read. It was pretty cool. No idea if it helped anything but I really didn't have a whole lot of problems anyway -- parents paid for it and recommended it to me. Not much insight. This was before I was knee deep in brutally awakening though.

The only way I conceive of it being a problem is if you have difficulty getting aroused. Try for women that you behold as "attractive as fuck" if that's the case, perhaps.

^^ And consciousness is just a label we give to describe the apparent transfer of information (which is all there appears to be). The "conscious agent" term that Donald Hoffman (above vid) uses is synonymous with Culadasa's "natural individual."

Tons of scientists have tried psychedelics. Perhaps most of them, despite less than 10 percent of the general population reporting to have tried them. Scientists are more open minded than average, which is really not saying much.

Sure, but any problem that you seem to overcome is not actually a problem, and therefore no one is actually overcoming it. I certainly agree that over time, with many trips and insights, you need less dosage to produce ego death. Almost a decade ago 300-1000ug LSD would often do it; a few years ago I'd never go over 110ug -- that was enough to produce plain ole god/infinite-consciousness and ego death. Sometimes past life experiences as well.

The more knowledgeable you are, the further you have to fall when you no longer know anything. I guess that's what I'd say? If I were rude.

There will be another. And another. And another. Until there are no more insights. There is only insight. The present moment is defined as the thing that seems to be between the past and future, which are both absent from reality. So what is the present? What is me?

@Lews Therin I have to say though, while it can bring about incredible insights, ego death brought about by psychedelics is quite "manufactured." It doesn't even relate in the least bit to liberation. When the self-construct collapses, memories can arise as they always have. They just aren't real. Or unreal.

If it didn't last, how can you know it wasn't your receptors being boggled by chemicals, causing the apparent experience of profundity and total understanding? Just wondering. Happened to me quite a few times as well, and later awakenings apparently revealed those experiences to be completely devoid of any reality whatsoever.

I know some may disagree, but weed really can enhance the trip by a fuck ton. Especially at a fairly high dosage. The mechanism by which this happens, however, is unknown to many. Here's the mechanism: weed impairs long and short term memory -- why is this significant? Ego death is why. Ego death doesn't occur by magic, it occurs by nothing more than simple memory suppression. When your memory is entirely suppressed, there is absolutely no context for whatever seems to be happening, thus revealing heaven/God/truth/no-self.

@Mvrs Overlooking is how things appear to happen. That's where the fun lives. If you know everything, you aren't there at all. If you know something (by overlooking everything), you are there.

You could also say there is no consciousness. At least, no consciousness as anyone knows it. There's only _______. Emptiness; unconditional love; nondual awareness (appearance); etc. There's only is, which is and is not.

My intuition is that you will reincarnate (if you still experience life as an individual) after death. But of course this is moot given by the fact that you are already reincarnating and don't notice it. So basically you have absolutely nothing to worry about or look forward to. It's hopeless. I've had far too many past life experiences to discount the idea. But of course there's no one here to reincarnate now so... idk.
