  1. @Mvrs Overlooking is how things appear to happen. That's where the fun lives. If you know everything, you aren't there at all. If you know something (by overlooking everything), you are there.
  2. You could also say there is no consciousness. At least, no consciousness as anyone knows it. There's only _______. Emptiness; unconditional love; nondual awareness (appearance); etc. There's only is, which is and is not.
  3. My intuition is that you will reincarnate (if you still experience life as an individual) after death. But of course this is moot given by the fact that you are already reincarnating and don't notice it. So basically you have absolutely nothing to worry about or look forward to. It's hopeless. I've had far too many past life experiences to discount the idea. But of course there's no one here to reincarnate now so... idk.
  4. @mandyjw Men try to get. Women try to be. They both try though, and that's the human condition. (Obviously that's just a story; just rings true to me in a sense.)
  5. They are the truth. You are the truth. There is no truth. That's the truth. The truth is not the truth.
  6. I'd recommend at least 5g if you had no difficulties. Feel free to disregard that recommendation, however. I've taken 7 grams quite a few times and that's the point where ego death becomes quite likely. Though it's actually quite a bit more likely on even mild doses of 5meo, or even 110ug LSD -- perhaps because mushroom visuals kind of keep you grounded to perception, even if it isn't normal perception.
  7. Being separate from your idea of "all of reality" is inherently unsatisfactory. There's always something that seems "needed." This unsatisfactoriness is both the problem and also the point of existence. There can be no existence without this apparent separation. Existence isn't real. Or unreal. You think you know things, but can't, because there's no separate self that could know something other than itself -- thus, there is just infinity; emptiness; love.
  8. Unconsciousness is impossible. That's all you need to know. Possible objections include "but what about deep sleep?" You aren't unconscious in deep sleep -- not even close. THIS is "after life/death;" this is death; life; before life; the afterlife. It's just what is: indescribable (perhaps disguised) infinitude.
  9. Probably... In all seriousness though I've noticed almost no distinction between men and women in actual maturity. Sure, women are far more apparently mature at any given age, but they're also just as ego-driven as any man. This is coming from an abundant perspective -- I haven't felt "slighted" by anyone in probably half a decade. There's just what seems to happen, and I have no fucking clue how to describe it. The man/woman dichotomy is a funny thing, isn't it?
  10. Fast Silence (plus the sounds of nature) You’ll be good to drive in like 6 hours probably but play it by ear Prepare with whatever relaxing spiritual practices you do, if any Significantly less than 1 gram could induce anxiety due to a sort of “one foot in the door; one foot out” phenomena so I’d err towards ~1g or more
  11. You don’t think, thoughts arise. I’ll assume you’re past that though and can play along: perhaps try thought replacement in the form of Metta and self-compliments. Or just meditate, but don’t full-stop meditating when you arise from the cushion. Recharge that mindfulness throughout the day and when each meditation session (even if it’s 5min) ends, try to continue it somewhat in your daily activities. Or just relax, not that “you” can, but if you could, that would be a pretty wise action.
  12. I think trying to make something inherently dualistic (namely language) into something it's not will leave you disappointed.
  13. I never noticed any correlation between masturbation/porn and success with dates, personally. Maybe a tiny bit, but it would be what one could consider expected given placebo from all the talk of nofap being so beneficial and all. I rarely look at porn or masturbate, especially when I have a gf (my last gf and I had sex multiple times a day for a year, and I just broke up with her), but I used to a lot more -- hell, I'd masturbate right after I got home from their place, or even right before seeing them, sometimes. I really, really don't think it matters but I could be wrong.
  14. I had a hypnotherapist years ago. A very good one. It was fun. Didn't really help my life though. Just my experience. Maybe I just didn't have a lot of trauma at the time, so there wasn't too much to heal. idk.
  15. I'm thinking of leaving evolutionary biology for transpersonal psychology.
  16. Fuck yeah. Studying for my ecology exam can wait.
  17. Insight after unconditional love insight, is not insight. Unconditional love insight before other insight, is not unconditional love insight. After insight into unconditional love, it's all over.
  18. Not that it'll be anything revolutionary, but don't go overboard with it. I had quite a bit of meditation skill, so maybe that's why it worked too well, but anytime I would experience anything remotely disagreeable, I'd lean into it and try to intensify its unpleasantness, which would counter-intuitively make it disappear. I thought I'd discovered the holy grail... But every time I did this I had the hidden agenda of escaping suffering, which the mind then caught on to and so it didn't work for a while. It caused issues...
  19. Emptiness (Unconditional) Love Nonduality All basically the same.
  20. Depends on how paranoid these thoughts are. The more associated paranoia, the more it can help to pretend to maximize the fearfulness of the thoughts. They are driven by aversion to fear. Turning-up (counterintuitively) an imaginary dial of scariness/fear may dissolve them.
  21. @Raptorsin7 In meditation, just from the focused attention and associated lack of mental activity in all the “normal“ places can induce incredible samadhi-like states. Basically there’s always “more.” Until there’s nobody there that could get more, at which point it’s realized: there was never anybody there. There’s only what seems to happen. No actual meaning or context to anything.
  22. Yeah it can help you bust through a plateau maybe, but if you’re already killing it with jhanas and such there’d be no need, therefore I’ll assume you haven’t attained jhana, and as such I’d recommend following an established technique like TMI for at least a 1 hour sit every day. Jhana isn’t awakening but it sure as fuck makes whatever you’re not doing seem laughable if you do in fact attain it. It’s obscenely pleasant. So what? But if you feel you’re lacking well-being in meditation, I would recommend doing what you can to manifest 1st jhana if you haven’t already.
  23. Meaningful suffering is an illusion though. But yes, you’re right in that “what is” does not give a fuck about “you.”
