Distortion. Theres only infinite love. Nothing. Truth. In order to something to appear to happen, a distortion on this must be made. A distortion of truth is an illusion. -

Oh yes. It works. Read The Cloud of Unknowing. Don’t ask with your ego. Choose one word that conveys a loving desire that you have, and thrust it from the deepest part of your being and pierce the heavens with it. -

Is the feeling like 10x more pleasurable than anything you thought was possible? If so, that's Jhana. Rob Burbea and Culadasa and others have tons of guidance to provide on how to cultivate it. It's hard work in a sense. And it can take some time to get the hang of such a repetitive, intensely fluid, and hard to sustain (unless lots of motivation) style of practice. But once it gets going strong, there's no turning back. It's absurdly pleasant and blissful. If the experience was more of a oneness or strangely tasted like deja vu, you probably just activated a higher state of consciousness in twilight sleep, for whatever reason. Just let it play out naturally. Don't ignore it but don't place all your focus on it. -

@BipolarGrowth I've had psychotic breaks from this work too. Generally they're nothing to worry about, and "I'm gonna go crazy" is just a last ditch effort for the ego to stay hidden -- this isn't about killing the ego, only bringing it to light so often that its influence is released instantly whenever is activated, that way the true personality can shine unhindered ("just be your self" is actually far more profound of a statement than I originally thought). And I mean true psychotic breaks. I really think it's mostly due to a psychotic break I had from meth before I got into consciousness work: instantly something snapped and I started seeing micro cameras everywhere that I thought aliens had placed and I was the star of an alien tv show where I was getting framed for murder (and rape), I experienced my parents as aliens disguised as my parents, and the hospital I went to was actually appearing to my mind as a disguised police station, but then I realized I was actually the worlds first AGI and this was just a ruse to get me to come in for updates to my system... and that's not even 2% of what transpired... It was BAD. It left a door slightly ajar. Most people need not worry at all about this possibility, but a psychotic break on psychedelics?.. Psychosis almost always involves persecutory delusions... What do you imagine this can look like on psychedelics? That's right, extremely convincing evidence that you're in hell, if you haven't gotten far in this work, but if you have? You will feel yourself to BE the devil. Once emptiness is seen, psychosis loses its teeth though. -

God is so utterly free and wild, that it can be limited -- for instance, in human form, with beliefs that one is actually exclusively a human living in separation. If you take that previous sentence on as a belief, you're on the wrong path (though nothing is really wrong). Just contemplate it. Reality is reality. If you (let's assume for a sec that you're just a human) die, reality remains. But, are you not real? That you are real (reality appearing as an expression of reality) is the one self-evident truth. So, clearly you must not be exclusively a human, right? When you release a false belief, evidence for that belief doesn't arise anymore. It's quite magical. -

@Forestluv This. It can be a fun practice too. Realizing all your memories can’t possibly be accurate and the now will be interpreted at a supposed later moment as something other than what it is. Can cause the whole belief/memory complex to get a little shaky. Is this now? Is it instantly turning into a false slightly altered memory? It’s like there is no now as opposed to some other moment in time — there is only THE moment. -

There is just what seems to be happening. Reality/God/Self creating everything by appearing as duality. If there's a person over there, this experience of a self-conscious perceiver is just one of these creations -- God/Infinity appearing as that. -

In my experience, this is not the best approach. What seems to work the best for me is taking a fairly large dose every 2 weeks and ramping up until you begin to have earth shattering insights and glimpses into "levels" frequently and intensely enough, such that you can't entirely un-see them. Then, you can basically access these higher states without substances. And when you do use them, you won't even need that much to explore further. It seems with high doses, you can access realms and leave the door ajar, so you can explore consciousness in profound ways with lower doses (or no substances) later. -

@BipolarGrowth Just out of curiosity, have you ever dabbled in synthetic cannabinoids? I'm quite convinced they really are unsafe, and I'm never using them again, but they're pretty much like weed X 10. -
The0Self replied to Elshaddai's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
That can certainly happen. Powerful tools are just that. -
The0Self replied to Elshaddai's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I agree with all of this. I think some people just respond differently to cannabinoids. For me, weed is so powerful I can basically count on my life taking a significant turn for the better after using it, if there is indeed some deleterious behavior pattern I've been overlooking... Since weed will very often expose at least some of it. It's been incredibly psychedelic ([profundity/gravity-of-the-situation]-revealing) to me. -
You're literally playing one right now. But Dual n-Back can seem to improve you working memory capacity.

You actually don't really need anything other than outcome independence. But as far as preselection-by-women is concerned, that can help and you can create it on the fly: hit on a woman, and if you strike out and you're in a social setting where people are bored and looking for something fun to do, you can tell her she'll be your wingman and chat up another woman, and another if needed... whom you'll probably be more successful with, but now you're spending time with your original "target," and she might change her rejection status of you, just through proximity and familiarity, especially if you're a great fun dude. Make sure you try to get the numbers of the women who reject you -- i.e. "that's fine let's just be friends then..." -- "Just in case."

It's basically just hardcore kegel lol. Probably leads to great sex; crazy intense squeezing during orgasm.

The ego is not something you should generally be content with. It's an aberrant pattern that you should watch closely to see its illusory nature. It is the ruminator; judger; blamer; delayer of happiness. It's the program that seems to drive you away from just "being your self." You know when a pattern is beyond ego when it is all-forgiving.

If it's a struggle for you, perhaps don't do it. It seems to work best for people who are naturally not very hungry in the AM.

For real... Idk how many of y'all have experience true psychosis before, but psychosis + artificially expanded consciousness can be so brutally terrifying it's basically unspeakable. -

I could certainly see how someone could have used the words I wrote to intentionally communicate what it seems you think I’m trying to communicate, but I’m referring to something quite different than positive thoughts. It really seems it’s not something that I can find a way to accurately describe. When you have an experience that you label afterwards as The Godhead, etc, that’s generally at least somewhat related to what I’m talking about, in that The Godhead (or whatever THAT is) is an experience usually accompanied by 1. what could be called a “higher level of consciousness,” 2. gratitude, and 3. an obvious miracle. -
^^ This. Where the rubber meets the road. Example of what this process can look like: A person with severe social anxiety uses the power of their mind to stop believing (by being mindful; observing/catching the ego; not judging) that anxiety is something that matters, and actually succeeds. Or, a person addicted to drugs uses the power of their mind to stop believing that their drug of choice is something of value (in any shape, form, or fashion), and actually succeeds.

@4201 Level of consciousness can be something of a useful term though. For instance: If a person has the misfortune (meaning amazing luck, in actuality, one could say) of being hoisted abruptly to a sufficiently higher level of consciousness the likes of which they are extremely undeveloped for — though anyone is at least somewhat underdeveloped relative to their current least-distorted / most-profound view or insight — then they will not experience the full gamut and usual auspices of a high level (gratitude, wonder, miraculousness, speechlessness)... rather, they will exclusively experience the accompanying shadow of Raised Consciousness Level: Raised Stakes Level. Possibly leading to a breakdown. -

Perhaps, but psychedelic without advanced meditation skill is child’s play compared to psychedelic with advanced meditation skill — especially self-inquiry/Witness. And of course it’s even more child’s play without at least a fair amount of contemplation skill. -
The0Self replied to JevinR's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You are your self — the Self — expressed uniquely exactly as you are. There is no real separation between you and what appears. The false self is the program that seems to take credit for things; feels guilt; blames; delays happiness for some imaginary future moment. It can never realize what it is because it’s an illusion. This illusion is presented to your true Self, but in that presentation, it may appear as the experience of a person who does all those things the false self does (blames, etc). And that’s perfectly ok. If there’s a person over there it will try to understand this, but the person is an imaginary program, so it can’t truly understand anything — there’s only the Self appearing as that.
