@LastThursday No. Forget about "should". There's no way in which anybody "should" live. Do you tell the trees how they should grow their branches? Of course not. Why not? Because all branches grow just the way they're supposed to grow, even if they're crooked, or short, or thin or whatever. And your life isn't any different from the trees. Of course if you like, you can live your life in a way that involves "shoulds". And you can even get neurotic about it "oh no, I'm not where I should be, I'm not doing what I should do, I am not the way I should be!". You can do that. It's just another branch of the tree. As I said: all paths are correct - because in the end, your life is of course only one path, one tree, one way of development and therefore the right path, you see? Whatever you do, is the Dao. And it doesn't matter whether you see this or not, it's true anyway. If you now say "Aha! I'm a tree that can't grow in any wrong way, therefore I can go do whatever I want to do! I can live an impulsive life full of short-term pleasure without thinking about my actions!" then you haven't understood that you are the tree, regardless of what you do. Otherwise you wouldn't try to prove it to yourself.

@Muhammad Jawad It's possible, yes. But it depends on the person, it's different for everybody. I already felt my ego dissolve at 1 gram lol. Some people need more, some less. As Rilles already said, just take more. Some say that weed intensifies their trip and that it shortens the come-up (the come-up tends to be a bit uncomfortable and uneasy). Anyway, what do you expect?? "multiplied by 100", what's that supposed to mean?

This is probably the most beautiful illustration of the idea of "emptiness" or "Shunyata" that I've ever come across. Imagine an infinitely extended spider's web, covered with dew drops in the morning. If you inspect one of the drops, what would you see? You would see in it the reflection of every other drop! And what do the reflections contain? Also the reflections of every other drop. So every "individual drop" actually consists out of every other drop and has therefore no individual self. Thus its true nature is emptiness - empty of a separate self. What a brilliant idea. It's an infinite fractal, containing itself everywhere and completely. What a gorgeous image.

@Nate0068 That's nothing but throwing around a bunch of words and theories. Clearly none of these ideas mean anything to you, or you wouldn't ask. Don't adopt any of it as your philosophy. Why not? Because none of it stems from your own direct experience. None of it has been verified or falsified by yourself. If I (or anyone else) were to tell you "yes, you're onto something" or "no, what you're saying is wrong", then you would simply adopt it as your theory about reality, having missed the point entirely.

The real question is: will Elliot ever get out of this "hole"? I mean, the stuff he says isn't something anybody would say without being pretty damn committed to it, right? Could he ever get to stage green or at least somewhere close? Edit: sorry, that's a stupid question. I can't see any way of him getting to green unless he takes psychedelics which deconstruct his whole reality for a couple of minutes, maybe that will get him thinking.

We need Jordan Peterson to become a hippie, I don't see any other way out. Seriously though, we need a smart and eloquent green role model who optimally already has a pretty decent reach. At least to balance the backlash.

Is totalitarianism in the west a possibility? I actually think it's foolish to assume that it isn't, the question is only; how likely is it? And what are the possible influences/reasons on the development of such high-end authoritarian structures?

But the few who rule by virtue of the ignorance of the masses don't want to set up a robust education system, do they? Since the masses are ignorant they will elect an ignorant leader, who in turn won't set up a good education system - isn't this a vicious circle? Btw is there any possibility to avoid a collective ego backlash? Or can it only be reduced in severity?
