Tim R replied to TruthSoldier's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@TruthSoldier The answer is no. Apart from his YT videos, his blog and forum posts, there is no content from Leo The "meta details of him as a teacher"? What exactly do you mean by that? -

Of course r/socialism is home to political ideologues. most political subs are. Better to stay away from political reddit, stick to memes and r/animalsbeingderps? What was your question exactly? @Rilles

@TruthSoldier It might take you 30 years to understand. It might take less. It might take more. But that's not the point, the important thing is this: After a certain point, you won't need any Leo anymore. To ask for "the highest teachings from Leo" is the wrong question. There are no highest teachings from Leo. -

I already said everything I wanted to say. I still cherish insight - and illusion Like with so many things, this is deeply paradoxical from a logical point of view. So let's not get hung up on logic. The greatest (non-) mindfuck was that the mind is an illusion. The greatest (non-) insight was that insight is also illusion. -

There have been a couple of conversations lately where JBP starts talking about psychedelics, God, and even Love. But every time, he doesn't dare to speak what he truly thinks, it's so obvious. He still tries to accommodate to the expectations and world views of his guests and audience. At this point, I'm 100% sure he has had some profound experiences with psychedelics. -

I do understand what you mean. Again, I now think it wasn't necessary to point out that insight is illusion. Sorry for making trouble?Maybe another time. -

I'm not saying there are any logical flaws. Yes, if you recognize a rope to be a rope and not a snake, that's very good. I don't think anybody would dispute that. -

@Salvijus I know what you mean. I've been trying to point you to something but I now think it's not necessary. Insight is valuable and a good thing to have? And yet, insisting that insight will liberate from fear and delusion is what perpetuates fear and delusion, but that might be very necessary. -

Seeing through an illusion ("insight") is itself - an illusion. Please don't get upset about this, it doesn't quite mean what you (probably) think it means. The "nature of illusion" is such, that the very unreality of what you perceive to be an illusion is in a sense constructed by "insight". Look at a rotating barber pole (you now the old fashioned ones, with the red, blue and white stripes). It looks like it's going up (or down), but it doesn't. The "illusion" is the false perception of the nature of the barber pole. Then, someone can come along and explain to you how this is just an illusion and bang! you have an insight and see that the barber pole is actually stationary. Now what happened? What, in other words, is the nature of what you call "insight"? Are you suddenly seeing something different(ly)? Or have you been looking at the truth the entire time? And if so, what would this mean for the "insight" that you just had? "Well", you say, "but now I recognize he truth, which I didn't do before!" Okay, fair enough. But what is this "recognition"? Re-cognition This is a "necker cube". You can "switch perspectives" as to which corner of the cube is in the front and which in the back. Experiment a little. See whether you can see both perspectives simultaneously. Is it any different with insight and illusion? What is his is his true face? Where is the illusion? Where is the insight? "What is your true face?" (Zen Koan) Don't expect any insight into the illusory nature of insight. -
Depends on the form of discrimination. Physical attractiveness? Well, Heightism or not, it won't change the fact that for example the majority of women prefers men who are tall rather than short. This is a form of discrimination, as every choice and preference is a form of discrimination, but it's justified I think. The same thing applies to body weight. Or intelligence. Or other aspects of physical appearance in general. Other than that, I agree with you and think that there are forms of discrimination which aren't really justified and should be questioned.

@Rilles Congrats! Keep going. I know this sounds stale, but consistency is key, it really is, especially with something like running, the essence of which is literally nothing but consistency and endurance. I remember not being able to run like a few hundred meters without needing to take a break and gasping for breath after the round was over (1,36 km). That was somewhere around Nov./Dec. 2020 I think. Ever since I went running nearly every day, not much, maybe 2-3,5 km. This summer I got to the point where I could consistently run my route (3,66 km) with a pace between 4:00 (15 km/h) and 4:30 (13,3 km/h). Every day. That took a lot of work (given that I also ride my bike a lot; ca. 2300km since this July) but I can't live without it now, it's meditative, fun. healthy and keeps me sane? You got this??

There is what then? Well there is ... not a "what" then. Not even a "there is". What some people might call "Reality" with a capital R. Mind you, language isn't always very useful when taking about dualities like "real" and "illusory" and their collapse. Takes one to know one?? -
Tim R replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Someone here No. In the ultimate analysis, there is neither reality nor illusion. -
Tim R replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
What is the point of this thread?? You want "proof that you are experiencing" and now you're saying If you are so sure that you and other people are a body that is having an experience, then what do you even want to hear ? There is no proof for other people experiencing anything and the notion of subjects having an experience is footed on wrong metaphysical assumptions and beliefs, now if you still want to insists that this is not so, go ahead. But realize that this whole discussion is going nowhere. -

@RMQualtrough Don't separate "nothing" from "something". *seeming subject and object divide. -
Tim R replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Someone here You literally can't "distinguish between illusion and reality" because even to assume that there is "reality" as opposed to "illusion" between which you could distinguish is already setting up a distinction!! EXACTLY. In a sense, the distinction between illusion and reality is the most unreal thing you could come up with?? -
Tim R replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
No? Okay then let me make this very easy for you: Let me simply ask you: Would the difference between illusion and reality be real or illusory? If it is real, then illusion would not be part of reality. But there can't be anything but reality because it's everything there is. You can't have anything outside of reality (I don't mean this in a spacial sense). So the difference must be illusory. And if the difference between illusion and reality is itself just and illusion - then of course, illusion and reality are identical. -

@Someone here I think you know the answer to that.
