good that you are seeing how negative the mind is, this is the first sign of an awakening key thing to realize is mind and body is nothing to do with you, you just hitched a ride with them mind body has come to do certain preset unchangable tasks according to karma this is nothing to do with you whenever there is a thought, you should say to yourself to whom does this thought come it is to the thinker but i am not the thinker, i am the whole, the reality, the Self you just accompany the thinker on its journey, you are the awareness of it, the enjoyer of the movie it is completing keep doing this and you can transcend mind, this is known as ramana maharshi's self enquiry

i would say look at which option you will not regret on your death bed imagine you have a week left to life, which choice for your life direction will you take mind will say do no meditate, do not bother with spirituality, do not concern yourself with difficult topics such as god, consciousness and love i suggest that mind wants to run the show and keep one dreaming for as many lifetimes as it can

allow me to dissect this aware of being aware business i am aware is ego i am aware that i am aware is god so what is the self enquiry method then? when anything comes up ... be aware of being aware of that anything ... namely ego is absent and god is the one who is aware god is back to being god again whatever comes up, remind yourself of this it is not me it is god that sees everything because i am aware of being aware
