Hilarous, thanks! -
Simply support freedom. You don't need a blueprint.

Not sure what you're asking. You must be aware that most companies aren't actually threatened by lawsuits, bankrupcy or a hostile takeover. Likewise you must be aware of monopolies. If you're asking about principles, well for one thing there's this thing called capital: if you have enough, you can do whatever. Like, that's the whole fucking point of capitalism. You've also got government-linked companies obviously. Basically, companies derive freedom of action from any form of power.
-
Companies do, both because the rules aren't the same for all companies and because enforcement of the rules is contingent.

I don't feel accountable at all, and there's very little I believe in (though that includes other minds, a notion which is generally uncontroversial but I feel I should mention it considering there are solipsists here).
-
This is not at all provocative. Some people (especially believers) have ulterior motives but for most people I expect it's a mountains/rivers type of thing. Like, I enjoy birdsongs as well. But I wouldn't use the distasteful words "social justice" (never mind capitalizing them!) since I'm not a believer.

Rest assured your first post in this thread had already triggered me. By the time I had reached this paragraph, there was nothing you could have said that could possibly trigger me more. I hope you can find help somewhere.

Killing everyone (as the Nazis briefly tried to do) is a form of genocide but that's not what genocide means or the ultimate purpose of genocide. -

What would be the purpose of the alledged crimes if not genocide? -

Even if the moon was made of cheese (what do we know, right?), your reasoning would still be criminal. What's next? Probably "they were only following orders"... -

Nobody dares sanction China, except symbolically. It's the PRC's turn to bully other governments with sanctions now. -

I understand the current policy is less than 5 years old. Some past genocides were kept under wraps for much longer. Decades before the alledged crimes in the alledged camps, there have been forced marriages and so forth for the purpose of carrying out this genocide. I don't see how this could possibly be brought to an end considering the PRC has nukes. The best most of us can do is probably to support refugees and whichever politicians are willing to stand up to racists and grant them asylum. -

If so, why weren't the vaccines developped much quicker? Mass production could simply have been started much earlier even if people didn't want to address the ethics of speeding up the final phases of testing. Russia and China got vaccines out of the door faster, using (much) less resources, expertise and talent. Or is this a matter of: we sure want to win this race, but without working on the roadblocks, planning ahead or paying our way? Occam's razor: this is all about optics, not substance. I was taught something else entierly. I didn't bother to investigate the facts of the matter for myself because I hardly care. The way I see it, things like the EU are largely a product of mostly-forgotten circumstances because they grow through bottom-up pragmatic deal-making, not because it was ordained by some idealistic (or strategically-minded) great leader(s). -
What are you people even calling "rights"?
-
If no one said who is or isn't a victim, perps would never be stopped. I took one look at the locked thread (if that's the one you're talking about) and found a ban-grade gaslighting post. Not necessarily. Denying the facts would be, but disagreeing about what these responsibilities are (how a child should be raised) wouldn't.

I don't think that would work for me. When I'm well enough, sure: I can enjoy the birds. But the last thing I want when I'm stressed out is to deal with things: either I'm reacting defensively to the things I perceive as the cause of the stress or it's no thing that I want to be aware of. And since stress messes with my focus, the best way I know to short-circuit this madness short of self-harm is exhaustion (the cocktail pumped out when I'm out of breath is inferior to the good stuff but usually good enough). The main problem with that approach is that I'd need to be physically well enough in the first place. Even when the stress has come down a bit, focusing on things that actually are inspiring seems way too hard. I'd rather distract my mind with stuff that requires less effort and involves little risk, such as this forum.
-
Using colors as labels is probably the surest way to trigger such behaviour (see: racism, pills and so forth).
-
I can sort of do that, except that proper focus is perhaps what stress undermines most (and that I don't think about it in terms of "opposite"). But to have the stress pale in comparison with something I actually *want to do* would be a high bar indeed!
-
Nothing comes to mind, besides drug abuse of course (since that would take care of the stress without effort). I knew I had a stress problem, but I'm guessing it might be worse than I thought.
-
Yes, it's hilarious. But I don't think it's fair to call it a dogma. When boys claim the their dick is larger, is that a dogma too? There's of course an ideology underlying the form one-upmanship takes in a particular (sub)culture but that's not quite the same thing.

Where did you get the idea that this has anything to do with paperwork? Many EU countries with no indigenous pharma industry to speak of have vaccinated more of their residents than Canada for instance. The Netherlands and to a lesser extent France are behind the rest of the EU but what's that got to do with Brussels or Strasbourg? Do you figure the USA is "too big" as well? Maybe you'd like the your member state not to share with the others? That would at least make sense. -
Populism is a political tradition associated with the petty bourgeoisie and infamous for its magical thinking and incipient antisemitism. The image you posted featuring central bankers and monarchs at the top of a triangle is typical of the more politically correct type of populism. Maybe you don't notice it as a distinct brand of politics because it's everywhere in your culture. I'm not sure what you want me to tell you other than what I've already told you. I commend you for managing to save $200 a month (I'm eating into my savings most of the time, which is OK since I don't have kids) but you're obviously never going to become rich that way and are evidently more in need of things like public services, shorter hours and a lower rent. Having more wealth than most is a handy privilege indeed but obviously that can only work for a minority. As you pointed out, stuff is complicated but generally speaking, the more wealth is spread around, the more unaffordable and risky home ownership in (sub)urban areas is likely to become for instance.

I'm guessing a lot of the information is proprietary and that we'll never know but by the looks of it... -the race was about developing the vaccines and the people framing distribution as a race are scum -it's not the EU which lacks vaccines but poorer countries -much like Israel's, the UK's domestic consumption of vaccines will have little impact one way or the other (in other words: the real issue is that the USA is hardly sharing its doses) -the EU's investment spending has generally been shockingly inadequate because certain member states are reluctant to allow its budget to be anywhere as large as it should be, and as a result the EU hardly knows how to invest -the EU is in the business of handing out sweetheart deals as well as protectionist perks to well-connected corporations -most of European production isn't in the EU proper (you may have seen the clause in the infamous contract regarding the UK but there's a lot of production being ramped up in other non-EU European countries as well), with obvious potential for trouble should any of the relevant governments behave in a short-sighted manner -
Not gonna happen. For instance if you want to become a socialist, you'll have to give up on populism at some point. The propaganda you've been subjected to most of your life makes this stuff about fairness and the "middle class" feel right but your 60 hour week and your rent tells me a fairer distribution of wealth would not serve your interests.
