So this is normal for spiritual people? I've been locked in the psych ward for talking about it. And I'm very honest so I keep talking about it. How do I get out of this trap? Not gonna take the rest of your post seriously. -
As far as books go, the only books I ever recommend are spiritual texts like the Bible. These would help for getting into higher level thinking. To overcome Orange, see through the idea of success. What are you trying to gain in life, and is it truly worth gaining? Is it society who says you must be successful in this way, or are you striving for something valuable in a spiritual sense?

I'm a victim of psychiatry. It's crippled me to the point where I can't work.

Maybe meditation isn't the answer right now. Keep doing the 5 minutes of it, and keep up with your studies. If you're depressed, you really need something new, though I don't know what it would be. Try reading spiritual texts? I liked the Bible, but that might not be for you. I found it helped when I was going through a tough time a few years back. Mind you, I'm depressed too, and I'm hoping for mystical experiences to pull me out of that. In the meantime I'm going to be cutting out lower level habits, and things that it's time for me to quit. Try to figure out WHY you're depressed. Getting to the root causes can be key to pulling you out of it. I only meditate for minutes at a time, and not every day. I find it does help a lot, but don't force yourself. Do it when you get the inspiration.

Great quote! Think of how many rich and famous people have sold their souls in the quest for power, then ask if you still want it. Btw, to sell your soul means to do so much damage to the world, ie build up so much bad karma, that you can't pay it back without essentially going through hell and being destroyed. This will happen sooner or later.
-
Try something new. It might mean that the old ways don't work for you any more. That said, meditation isn't really something to be overcome.
-
You'll never COMPLETELY overcome Orange. That's very rare. Focus on higher levels. Spiritual teachings and so on. If you're focusing on Green, you'll still have some Orange. That's how it works. I still have some Orange and I'm post-integral.

You sound truly evil.

I'll just say, that when describing higher levels of consciousness, it's very difficult to convey through ordinary language what it is that makes these states so profound. For example, you could say, isn't the typical Se dominant type "in The Now"? And all I can say is... Well, no, not in THAT sense. I suspect that at most 1% EVER get to the point of living habitually in The Now. But I don't know how to convey that through a description. So how does it feel to be at Mission? It feels like, well, being on a mission, in a way that less that 1% of people will ever experience. When it comes to the descriptions, I may find it too difficult to describe anything from Mission onwards. (I THINK I can describe The Now to an extent)

Descriptions are still in the works. You can read my posts to get an idea.

I studied my own development, and found that those are the stages I developed in. The cognitive function parallel was too strong to be ignored, and the order the functions go in had been discovered already in other contexts. I now have research from looking at users of a dating site that confirm my views. Going by their age and Thematic level, it shows that the order of development from, at the very least, Community to Holistic, is sound. I'm my own main data point when it comes to post-integral. I've yet to find a single person who is beyond Mission (that's the level I'm currently at, but I can access higher levels).
-
The majority of posters to this forum are at Introspective. Some are at Community, and I assume some younger members are still at Modelling however I haven't come across them. A few are at Experimental, including Leo. I haven't come across a single member at Holistic, let alone higher. So this is NOT a forum for highly developed individuals. Above average, sure, but not genius level. I'm only here at the moment because I don't know where else to discuss my work, but I have found backlash so far from low-minded and close-minded individuals.

Try goal setting, and studying.

Yes, thinking about things is a big part of it. You're at Yellow, so you can still develop by looking at the plethora of spiritual information available. When one gets to the level above Turquoise, they enter The Now. Sex and drugs and nature/travel can really help at this level. Anything where you're fully engaged in the moment. When I got to the level above that, Verification, I found Pod'lair to be useful. Thomas Chenault is post-integral (now Mission, but majority of videos are at Verification). I also liked Terence McKenna, who was at The Now. I also found the Bible to be useful, although that's more of a Turquoise book (well, the Old Testament is). I used that knowledge to create a denomination of Christianity (when I got to Mission) which I was promoting on this site in 2020. That eventually fell apart. Now I've been working on things like the Thematic Hierarchy (which involves Axiom, although I'm still at Mission. One can access higher states before reaching them generally) which I'm talking about right now. My further development will come through talking to the spirits, which is how I think, as well as mystical experiences. ie I'm now past the point where information consumption can help me. There would be SOMETHING out there that could help, but I have no idea where to find it. What I might do though, is to use basic information about subjects as fuel for my own speculations about things, such as what I did by expanding Spiral Dynamics into the Thematic Hierarchy. I have some plans in that direction.

I echo what's already been said, in saying that the problem with being highly developed is not being able to relate to the people around you. This makes friendships and romantic relationships very difficult. If you get above Turquoise, you find that there's no longer much information out there that will take your understanding to the next level, so you have to find ways to develop on your own. There are plenty of people (eg spiritual teachers and university professors of high level subjects eg pure maths and metaphysics) situated AT Turquoise, but if you try to seek out anything higher you won't find much.

Well it does of course have to do with age and genetics. Some people, by their genetics, and more importantly their spirit, will ascend the hierarchy faster. The older you are, the further along you will be. Introverts are naturally more inward focused, and extroverts are naturally more outward focused. This is something completely separate from development.

I've already mapped out the higher levels corresponding to SD. I've named it "The Thematic Hierarchy". There are 8+1 levels for the usual colours, and 8 for Post-integral. I arrived at the model empirically, through honest self-reflection, and rationally, through inference and understanding of typology. It's not possible/easy to study the Post-integral levels in the population due to how few people reach these levels. My findings are sound.

I've changed some of the names so I'm going to post this again. Definitions/descriptions are still in the works. I'll post them some time next year if interest is shown. A reminder again that the cognitive function listed refers to the theme of that level, not to which types are at that level. Level - name - cognitive function - spiral dynamics level 0. Instincts, pre-cognitive, Beige Lower levels - Opinion 1. Appearance, Se, Purple/Red 2. Convention, Si, Blue 3. Success, Te, Lower Orange 4. Modelling, Ti, Upper Orange 5. Community, Fe, Lower Green 6. Introspection, Fi, Upper Green 7. Experimental, Ne, Yellow 8. Holistic, Ni, Turquoise Higher levels - Fact - Post-integral 9. The Now, Se 10. Verification, Si 11. Mission, Te 12. Axiom, Ti 13. Behavioural, Fe 14. Motif, Fi 15. Consequential, Ne 16. Wisdom, Ni

@ThePoint Ultimately, it would be best for those of mystical bent to be free from work and have all of their needs provided for by others. They would rise the consciousness of the tribe as they themselves ascend. So often, it is a major win in life when a person becomes spiritual. This is what earth life is half about. But we're all made to abide by the 9-5 worklife. This does not suit someone who is pursuing enlightenment, although some may be lucky enough to find a job that goes hand in hand with it. Also, there's the major issue that mystics are branded as insane, and expected to abide by spoken and unspoken social rules of how to carry themselves in a braindead society. It's a shame that we have to avert our life path for the purposes of survival. It would be far better if we could be paid for the consciousness raising work that we do. The above problem applies to those with spiritual inclinations, as well as the highly developed, NFs, and good people (who are pushed out of work because they won't compromise their principles). Let us live the spiritual life. Let the saint pursue the benefit of mankind, and let not the evil and ignorance of the world pull on them to give in. - Artsu

You're talking a lot about tripping, but I'm left unsure of what your spiritual practice actually is. Spirituality is a great life purpose, and often when people pursue it they set themselves up for a good future beyond this life. If you like maths and programming you might want to become a data analyst/scientist. You can pursue spiritual practice in your spare time. Finally, note the division between what the best life to lead is, and what life you have to lead because of the way society is structured.

There is definitely free will. Saying there isn't is retarded. -
Apparently only I succeeded. Pod'lair refers to it as the SS index. Concrete to abstract. It actually is how development works, in almost every developmental model I've seen. You can disagree with my model, but your tall poppy syndrome bullying is not flattering for anyone let alone a moderator. Is this who moderates this site? I'm not just talking about you. This place is an evil echo chamber of delusion. What am I even doing here? I'm a good person, I don't follow Kali. Just admit when you're not intelligent enough to understand something. Enough of this egoic bashing of that which is beyond you. The end.

I have no idea what that means.
