Thanks. It was the way I reacted in response to my mystical experience that put me there. You don't know the story, but it involves corruption on the part of my mum and the mental health system. Mystical experiences can indeed be calming, but they can also be energising. I become "grandiose" during some experiences, seeing myself as a powerful being. During other, related, experiences, I may see myself as the only mind in existence. I come out of this after a while. I've had many such experiences. Sometimes it gets highly intense. That is all.

Yes that definitely sounds mystical. I haven't had much experience with therapists. My posts in this thread deal with psychiatry/the psych ward, not counselling. I feel that if I ever saw a counsellor again that the reaction wouldn't be terrible, at the very least, but with the exception of my loneliness, I can't think of a reason to see one. I hope your experiences remain positive and go well for you.

Key word: manipulate. I've never had a practice of manipulation and can't see myself adopting one.

Oh, and if you want to know more about why I get locked away, look at how I just spoke to Carl. You can only imagine how I address corrupt authority in general, whether that be a moderator, parent, or mental health worker. Prestige means nothing to me. I will call it as I see it.

It was something else. I talk to spirits throughout the day, every day. Does no one else change their behaviour when going through mystical experiences? I try that, and will try again, but ultimately these people are unreasonable. It doesn't matter what the truth is, it's whatever they decide. Also, they view argumentation as evidence that one is mentally ill. I've had very bad experiences as a result of standing up for myself. Anyway, I'm hoping I don't get put in this situation again. I have a psychiatrist appointment in the coming weeks where I will do more work for my case. Wish me luck!

I was unable to leave because of it. I was put in there because my mum was worried about me and called them. Once you're in the system, one phone call is all it takes. Needless to say, my mum doesn't understand mystical experiences. Her perceptions of me mean nothing. And your perceptions of me mean even less.

I said this earlier. I am very honest. If they ask me if I still talk to spirits, I am going to say yes I do. I could lie to get myself out of it. I did lie once, and they didn't lock me away. But in general I believe in being honest. I am fighting for people's rights here!

Didn't you read what I said when I said they justify keeping me in there because I talk to spirits? That's literally why they keep me there. The fact that you don't believe it would happen shows that you're OPEN to believing how corrupt the mental health system is, but you're not there yet. You'll get there, I'm sure.

This whole fricking forum could be 'rightfully' diagnosed as schizophrenic. Look at what you guys talk about! Do you think that the mental health system would actually approve of these discussions? Spirituality is demonised by the mental health system. Mystical experiences are not acknowledged. Talking to spirits is a hallucination associated with schizophrenia, apparently. And believing in spirits is a delusion, also associated with schizophrenia.

And I'll say that being diagnosed with a mental illness doesn't mean you actually have that mental illness, and not being diagnosed with a mental illness doesn't mean that you don't have one.

It's notoriously hard to describe this stuff. That's one of the main problems when it comes to the mental health system. Though even with PERFECT explanations, they still wouldn't accept it. For me, it's not that it takes a turn for the worse per se, but that it gets intense. My behaviour changes, and it worries people. Soon, the mental health system are called, and once you've been put in the psych ward once, it's very easy to go back there. There is no justice in the mental health system. The psych ward is corrupt as it comes.

This thread is not about me. It's about finding out if others go through prolonged mystical experiences, and how powerful these get, and if your behaviour changes, and so on.

That's private. What I will share, is that they justify keeping me there because I talk to spirits. Talking to spirits is a profound spiritual ability.

I'm just asking if anyone has prolonged mystical experiences, and how powerful these get. The closest I've come to reading about this is the idea of "spiritual emergency". There's gotta be information out there...
