If you are sick every time you eat vegetables you should consider that there might be an underlying issue that is giving you those symptoms. It's not the plants, and your body being incompatible with them. It's the gut problem! I would suggest that you are looking in the wrong direction. I mean, sure, try an elimination diet, but don't try to make it work long term. You clearly have something in you that is reacting to what you put in the body and also on the body, so consider taking some gut tests and working with a professional (never on your own) on solving them. Elimination diets do not solve the problem. The problem is so complex that in my opinion you absolutely need to work with a specialist, such as Gojiman, who clearly produces undeniable 100% results. Not some half-assed "i went on carnivore and now i just have to keep my intake of beans and potatoes low and i'm fine" type of stuff. Which is still great, better than before, but the problem is not fixed! There are literally thousands of different iterations of the same gut problem, and there are thousands of gut problems, and any combination of them on top of that. It's so freakin complex! And this is the first time in history when we actually are beginning to fully heal our gut issues and "heal our lower chakras". That's why everyone is showing so much resistance to it. No, but i use ze magnificent internet in general. I did talk to a lot of doctors, though. I have many in my family and many of our peers are doctors since my eldest uncle was the headmaster of the University of Medicine here in my hometown. So i've had quite a few people to bounce my ideas off of. But Leo is right, these doctors don't really know much about gut health and nutrition and the interconectedness of stuff, so... I find that the 80/20 or even 90/10 rule applies really well here. There are those weird rare exceptions and they become exponentially more rare the more we approach that 1%. But let's ignore those exceptions for now. Also, i think this dog training analogy works well here: Not all dog's problems are the same, but all dogs are the same - meaning that they all have different traumas and psychological and behavioral issues (content), but the training principles, are the same (structure). Not all gut problems are the same, but all guts are the same (again, let's ignore the weird rare exceptions). What ya'll seem to be missing is this distinction between the content of moving from one diet to another, and the structure, which is gut health. Of course, @Leo Gura i'm not suggesting that you should go off carnivore now, especially to a vegan diet lol. But i don't think that you're actually approaching the problem at it's root, which is your gut issues. And i'm sorry, but taking antibiotics on your own as you described doesn't seem a very wise or responsible way of approaching the problem. And it's possible that if you were to work with Gojiman some antibiotics will be involved at some point, and in your mind maybe "you already have tried that". But you didn't REALLY try it in the right context. Ya know why i bring Gojiman up so much, Leo? Because i've watched all of his videos and all of your blog videos and what you have tried in the past is exactly what Gojiman suggests that you shouldn't do. Including the taking of antibiotics and fasting. And he is the one that actually solved his debilitating gut issues, and is reliably and consistently solving other's gut issues also. But i feel that i've made my point. I will try to stop now Again... what people don't seem to understand is that it's not the plants that are causing the gut problem. You're (probably) not one of those exceptions. The gut problem is what's reacting to the plants!

Yep, he's great!

@datamonster i don't think that's a helpful attitude. If you're suffering is that bad how can you focus on others suffering?
-
@Leo Gura Well yeah, that's why if i were you i would get on a consultation with Gojiman asap.

@Rilles Of course, but i'm gonna challenge his or anyone's views just like i challenge my own. I am still young and unwise, and i will make many mistakes and i still project a lot and stuff like that. But if i think someone is wrong i will say it. In my pursuit of gut health I drank my own piss for 6 months, for example. The conclusion that i got from that and from continuously researching is that it was unnecessary, and that it has potential health risks. There are a bunch of people that have been drinking their urine every morning for decades, and claim that they're just fine. But how do we know that they are actually fine? i don't think there is someone attracted to the carnivore diet or piss drinking that doesn't have gut issues. From all my research i think it would be better to skip those things altogether and directly go to someone who gets results and actually understands the human body.

@SaltyMeatballs She has gut issues that she refuses to get real treatment for because she is identified with her diet and being a "lioness" and plus se makes a lot of money giving carnivore advice and selling programs and stuff like that... She claims that plants destroyed their health and that carnivore healed her gut. That's not true. Her underlying gut problems are what reacted to the plants and f'd up her health. And carnivore didn't heal anything, she still can't eat any plants, and she's been on the carnivore diet for years i think.

@Leo Gura Granted. But still, people like Gojiman who actually get people from not being able to eat plants, to being able to eat plants, strongly argue against it, recommend a different route and back up their claims with experience and results.

@Carl-Richard I wouldn't advise anyone to remove foods just like that. What needs to happen is a very in depth discussion with each individual to find out the exact cause of their struggle. Giving general advice like that is tricky and can be dangerous. People who eat a whole-foods, plant-based diet and are struggling to lose weight shouldn't cut out potatoes. They should consult a professional to have their gut checked. -

@Carl-Richard Potatoes are very nutrient dense and incredibly satiating, so i wouldn't worry too much about that. If someone is worried that eating a bit too many potatoes is going to make them gain weight, then they're probably not moving too much throughout the day. Eating lower carb when losing weight can curb hunger and cravings and thus leading to more adherence, in SOME people. It's really unproductive to make it sound like everyone should lose weight by going low carb or everyone should eliminate grains and starches. -

@Carl-Richard literally everything can cause weight gain if you eat too much of it. Leo stated that they're unhealthy, which made me curious about what or who convinced him of that, so that i can go to that source and figure out myself why did they arrive to this erroneous conclusion. -

What are you talking about Leo? What's wrong with grains and starches? I get that some people don't do well with gluten, but not all grains have gluten, and we have evolved salivary amylase that helps us digest starches. Yes, when we bake or fry starchy food certain carcinogenic compounds such as Acrylamde can form, but boiling and steaming are perfectly fine. And if you want to avoid Acrylamide when you bake potatoes, just don't eat the skin. The glycoalkaloids which are toxic to humans are also found in the skin. Other than that, potatoes (especially sweet potatoes and purple potatoes) are some of the healthiest foods on earth. -
No. In my opinion you can't solve gut issues by winging it on your own. There are literally thousands of things that could be wrong with your gut, if not more. You need to do tests and work with a competent professional that knows what they're doing. That being said, if you find keto to be more manageable until you get tested, do whatever. But don't delay solving your problems, as they will get worse with time.

Kit Lauglin is amazing! He is one of the very best, definitely an old wise stretching master! Emmet Louis aka The Split Wizard is also one of the leaders in the field. This particular video is very simple, but he has in depth videos on how to achieve things such as front and side splits and many other things. You can also find really good interviews with him Here is Emmet being interviewed by another two of my favorite people in the Strength and Flexibility world - Jeffrey Wolf aka The Flexibull and Lukas Aaron aka The Limberjack (gotta love their aliases XD) Lukas has some good content on YT, although both Lukas and Jeff are more active on instagram. I highly suggest buying and studying their programs. They aren't pricy, and you can see how some of the best think and organize their training. You can also find videos where Emmet interviews Kit, and also where Jeff and Lukas interview Kit. (of course these guys know each other! ) One more bonus is Hilderson Joachim. Search his instagram and be amazed. His results speak for themselves. What these guys do is pretty holistic training. This is (part of) what gives you longevity, and most of all a really high quality longevity! Flexibility is what helps you not have aches and pains in the body. Whether you are really strong or don't lift weights at all, having a flexibility balance in the right and left sides of your body, in the way your spine moves and stuff like that is what dictates how good you feel in your body. Having a balanced and flexible body is one essential thing to have if you want to be able to sit or stand for long hours to do consciousness work and to work on your LP. So there's no skipping it! Once you have it it's easy to maintain! Cheers!

Bruh... Ray Peat recommends people eat a tablespoon of coconut oil with every meal. He says to stay away from plants because they contain toxins. Again, an oldschool approach that doesn't know how to deal with peoples digestive issues! He promotes eating fish which are full of micro plastics and heavy metals nowdays, plus the oceans are overfished. We need to stop eating fish for a while. See what i mean? Outdated stuff. Andrew Cutler's chelation protocol is interesting, i'll definitely research it more in the future. Jason Blaha is not a qualified nutritionist and although he promotes whole plant foods and to stay away from refined sugars and oils, he still eats too much meat. Again, as with the fish, there is a massive problem that we're facing in the world with pollution and chronic illness and poverty and war and all sorts of stuff like that and they're all interconnected. Like Leo gave the example of the sweater - no matter from where you pull from, the whole sweater is one long thread, and if you pull enough from the seames, the whole thing will unravel. Humans thrive on plant-based diets. ALL humans do! The problem is we all have gut issues! We need to solve our gut issues and then eat plant based. It really is that simple.

I want to add this: Most coaches don't know how to program and to coach proper stretching. We need to stay in a stretch for many minutes in order to learn how to relax that tight area. sets of 30 seconds or 1-2 minutes will not suffice. So that's one small thing that i learned from these guys that i really wanted to mention.

I have been researching nutrition non-stop for the past 5 years. I have heard everything, and i have tried almost everything. There is this youtube channel, Vegetable Police, and he has gone from vegan to carnivore to vegan again to carnivore again numerous times over the past few years. He even did 20 day fasts and stuff like that. Then there is this other channel, called Gojiman. Gojiman is a nutritionist on his way to becoming a PhD in nutrition and from the very start, before Vegetable Police went carnivore for the first time, or do the long fasts. He offered to help him, get him tested, find out exactly what he has and then go on an appropriate treatment. Veg Police refused. He wanted to heal himself... Then, Veg Police went on to make videos explaining what he was going to try, and based on that, Gojiman predicted what was going to happen to VG. Needless to say, Gojiman was right every single time. On the other hand, Gojiman has numerous videos on his channel of case studies - people that took the tests Gojiman suggested, found out exactly what problem they had and then went on the treatment and successfully got rid of their issues. I'm not saying that Gojiman is the only good nutritionist out there. I'm saying that nutritionists or doctors like him are the ones you want. Because they are the only ones obtaining results! So my advice would be to research the shit out of his channel. He will answer most of your questions. I have similar issues as what you describe, or Leo describes. I am currently gathering money to take the tests. I will make posts about my results in the future. Until then, no advice can i give you, since i am not a trained professional. And besides, without tests no one can give you any meaningful advice.

I am feeling debilitating tiredness, i can barely get out of bed. Any sort of work has become a struggle. Huge mental fog. I am gathering money to fix my problems but it will take a while until i manage to save enough, since my only income so far has only been from music and there are no gigs at the moment. So what should i do until then? What should i eat, or what other advice do you have?
-
@StarStruck Or maybe your body is telling you that you have a problem that needs to be fixed. You don't see lions that are allergic to zebras or monkeys that allergic to bananas. Every species has a specific diet, and our allergies and food intolerances stem from our modern way of living. It's a new phenomenon and we are just figuring out how to fix them. Organ meat contains a lot of toxins and heavy metals. I have good levels of every nutrient. I know how to fix my problem. I just need to gather the money to do so. I started this topic because i was really curious if Leo in his research found out something more than i did.
-
@StarStruck why?
-
"When bacteria are threatened they amalgamate and form biofilms which protect them from anti-microbials and provides them with sustenance for an extended period of time. So quite simply, a 30 or even a 60 day water fast is not going to kill the SIBO, or other bacterial problems in the gut".
-
@StarStruck nope, i eat animal products sometimes, but i see them a bit like i see dessert or junk food. It's tasty, it's very stimulating to the senses, but i do not consider it "food".
-
@Leo Gura Thanks. I figured out as much, but I asked you thinking that maybe in your research you would have found something that i didn't I do know that prolonged fasting is a bad idea when you have gut issues though. Your good gut flora will weaken too, and the bad stuff doesn't go away, that's certain from my research. Anecdotally, the most i did was 5 days, and i did multiple 3 day fasts back-to-back, for like a month and a half. Only temporary relief. But i'm curious how your experience will be.
-
I challenge you to see how ironically dogmatic is what you just said here.
-
@StarStruck do some serious research. emphasis on the *serious*
