  1. Absolute clarity.
  2. If that was the case I think at this point we would have been able to at least figure out some words of their languages. The sounds they produce seem arbitrary. Also, the way they organize themselves and socialize are very far from humanity's. Nothing really suggests that they use language like us, or at least not in the way you suggested. That is a good point. However, the chemical type of communication is very distinct from the linguistic type, as there isn't much room for interpretation in the former. This makes it very simple, clear, and mechanical, therefore easier to study and understand even if you are completely foreign to it. On the other hand, it's very difficult for an American to learn Japanese for example simply by watching anime movies. I think this is mainly what makes the linguistic language creative and capable of evolution to a greater extent than the chemical one. That's also a good point. I have no comment on it though.
  3. Serious question and I'm honestly lost with no idea whatsoever. Where did language come from? I'm specifically talking about our human language as our main form of communication. How did it emerge?
  4. There's no point in doing anything. Life is merely a matter of luck. You could work and develop yourself your entire life and still be poor and a loser, while others are born in healthier environments with better chances and better infrastructures that they can easily become rich and successful, assuming that they aren't already. That being said, don't make the end goal the center of your attention. Don't place too much value on the things you think you will get eventually. Do what you enjoy and wait for better opportunities.
  5. I've struggled with depression for a very long time. I've been depressed for about 10 years now and thought it ended with my enlightenment two years ago. The reality is that I'm still depressed, only my mood has improved significantly. The main symptoms I'm struggling with currently are cynicism, nihilism, and lack of motivation. I don't struggle with them emotionally. I'm completely detached, but that's the problem. Since I'm detached, I can't solve these problems cuz they don't even feel like real problems. I'm literally stuck but I don't feel threatened at all. My mind says that I should do this and that, but my heart does not agree.
  6. Very well thought and put, thanks. And it all makes sense but it still doesn't explain why we're distinct from other animals. Could it be a leap in consciousness?
  7. Yeah totally I'm wondering about the thing(s) that happened within that window. It must be something really strange.
  8. Thanks that makes perfect sense.
  9. You don't need to know how to hold a conversation. You only need to drop the belief that you need to know how.
  10. They will come to you, sooner or later. Don't be so quick to judge.
  11. @Recursoinominado that is interesting although why did it evolve this much only in humans?
  12. Only problem is that what you're referring to as 'my finite mind' is not certain to exist whatsoever. You're completely making that up without proof.
  13. Having said that I have another theory. This may be an "overcorrection" (for lack of a better word) for the period of time that you were depressed. You know like balancing things out. Since you were possibly repressing some things during your depression, the energy releases you're experiencing right now feel freeing and since you weren't used to these levels of positive experiences, your "bodily receptors" were adapted to the negative experiences so that the threshold was very low. Now it's expanding. What do you think?
  14. That's me. Granted. No you're totally fine, m'lady It's just the way you hold (or perhaps present?) your ideas and opinions that seems a little bit simplistic. It's usually an indicator of how much thought you've given the subject and the amount of experience you have about it. Simplicity here means lack of information. Complexity and nuance means more comprehensive understanding. Only you can rate yourself truly, but for what it's worth it should be pointed out to you in case you didn't notice. Have you watched Leo's Spiral Dynamics series? It's very helpful for bringing in more holistic bigger picture understanding. And it explains a lot about the values you, me, and other people hold. I'm not in a place to be able to appreciate or judge the situation correctly, but I can intuit that it's critical to you. You're an ambitious person and you have many things on your list to achieve. All I can do is wish you luck with everything.
  15. @Shir You seem very open but at the same time and to be honest I think you have a lot to learn about this topic. Don't get me wrong I'm only saying this because I don't see much nuance in how you're thinking about this whole thing. Maybe I'm wrong and I hope I am but since you show openness I thought you might wanna hear that. Besides, Idk but I get the feeling that you actually want to have that marriage asap. And nothing wrong about that of course, but it doesn't seem entirely based on logic. I'm not sure. What do you think about that?
  16. @Farnaby If someone tells me I'm not good enough I tell them to suck it. Well, at least in my mind.
  17. Pros vs. Cons? Do you recommend it? And will you keep doing it?
