There's a mental condition called "detachment disorder" where people can become apathetic and insensitive. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/emotional-detachment Not sure about your request though. I don't think a human can grow up without emotions. I think they're necessary for growth. But I don't think that emotions are an original feature from birth. They probably develop over time through conditioning, similar to Pavlov's dog experiment. -

Kids don't understand love nor humor. It would cause more harm than good to treat them that way (not really sure about that though). But we are adults and we should take responsibility for our feelings and be able to deal with anything life throws at us. If one cannot take a few harsh words, then he's too soft for real life. Still, by no means I'm justifying Leo's attitude. Ultimately, you shouldn't need to call people names or criticize or even try to teach others or change the world. But "ultimately" is not here yet, and Leo has been dealing with harsh comments for years so it's really understandable that he's used to them and that they probably don't trigger him at all, so he doesn't expect them to trigger others that much. To him, it probably feels normal, maybe even a necessary spice for conversations. It shouldn't be very different from a trauma that gets stored in the body. I assume the difference is that Leo is not holding it back but instead is releasing it. So it'll probably take a few more years until he's totally over that attitude. He says that he is deliberately making his comments harsh but I highly doubt it. I think he could not stop himself if he wanted to. It would not feel right to him. He says that we should develop a sense of humor, and I get it. But that's him deflecting the truth of the matter and returning it onto us (rightfully so) instead of doing inner reflection. It's all fine though, and there's no need to do anything about anything. We're all just a bunch of inevitabilities playing out.

Why would I want more shit factories in my life?! One is more than enough.

This one thing in particular I love about Leo. He is bro'ing you. That's the coolest thing a teacher could do if you ask me. It's a feature, not a bug. Other teachers treat you like a baby, Leo treats you like a bro and as an equal.

That's just more mind. Not my thing. Sorry.

I proposed that question to highlight a different truth. To me, there's no dilemma because there's no morality to being with. We create our moral codes and then give them authority over our lives. That's what the mind always does. It creates problems that it cannot solve. Discard the mind, and there will be no problems. Simple as that.

There is also absolutely no reason why I can or should feed a basket of puppies either. If I chose to ignore them and let them die, would that make me Good?

Simply because murderers die faster or get locked up, thanks to the collective. So, you don't see people walking around killing each other exactly because of that system/status quo, and you follow the status quo because it's difficult to go against the stream. We are chimps, and we copycat each other. The less criminals there are out there, the less likely anyone else will become a criminal. Crime rates are getting less and less because of the stability that is provided by the collective. Positive feedback loop.

Most people think they are inside the body, not the body itself. And some people think they are not the body. So everyone agrees that they are not the body. What they disagree about is the location of the observer or the sentience and whether it exists or not, more precisely, people disagree about their existential nature. -

Because it feels different. It is advertized a lot. It makes you vulnerable. From within the materialist paradigm, yes it is. -
You do have a cute smile though. I saw your profile picture once and it was spectacular I can recall it from memory anytime I want. So maybe use it more, and make sure you show your teeth, cuz they look amazing.

Look what I've found! Another Easter Egg! Translation: Rule number 520: "Don't go around chasing butterflies. Fix your garden, and let all the butterflies come to you." I've found this calligraphy (very popular for tombstones) two hours ago during walking meditation. It was written on a block near the railroad. My life has always been rich of Easter Eggs, sometimes even really unpleasant ones, but still. At the first sight, I was surprised to see that quote. It says rule number 520 so I assumed it would be one of the rules of love, from the book "The 40 Rules Of Love", which is a modern novel written by a female writer I don't recall her name, that talks about Rumi and Shams Tabrizi, which were Sufis and in love with each other. Shams was a Sufi wanderer, and Rumi (before Shams) was a logical Islamic figure and a religious leader (Imam). Shams taught Rumi about Sufism and thus they fell in divine love together. Shams said it was destined and he was only simply following God's orders. Anyway, I did a quick search, and turns out it's not one of the rules. It's not from the book. It's just a random quote. The reason why this is a special thing is because it's very rare to find such things. It's the first time I've ever seen a calligraphy in the streets. It's always just stupid graffitis that have no sense of creativity, not even colors. Just black graffitis, sometimes preceded by a hashtag sign. And that's it. So, I'm assuming it's been written by someone who has got recently dumped, and was trying to move on. The calligraphy though is interesting. He/she expressed themselves in an artistic way. Or maybe I'm assuming much. Maybe it's just someone practicing or showing off calligraphy and happened to use that block as a canvas. It's not perfectly written and has obvious flaws, so I favor the second possibility. Someone was practicing. Nice try God, next time surprise me with something different.
