  1. Yeah, maybe we are still able to perceive the true essence of life, so that we don't get lost in our thoughts and forget our true nature. A balanced world! Imagine what will happen if everything around us become thoughts, that we all are unable to 'contact' our true nature and become robots in the future.
  2. If body is a thought and hence does not exist, what about the empty 3d space occupied by the body? This is really a nice thought., thinking about it gives me goosebumps!
  3. Yeah, finding the balance between both will lead to an ideal-looking life. Maybe, we should remove one or two ghosts from the game! (Like famine and poverty)
  4. I like his teachings and it's true. It's great for people who wish to be joyful all the time. But for me, knowing the truth itself is like a play. It's not necessary to be serious about enlightenment and to spend whole life searching for it, for it is always there. That doesn't mean we should stop being curious and stop questioning everything, even things beyond enlightenment. That's called life. But living the life understanding reality makes life even more livelier. Even if people are sure that there are no things to search, no more truth to be found, we will still search for the joy it offers, just like there is no purpose in living, still we are living for the great experience it offers. It may be true or may not be. But spirituality and morality seems to have no relation. In fact, realizing that whole life is a play leads to more crimes and disorder. You can take a recent example, Culadasa, author of Mind illuminated and a buddhist teacher. He is a great guy, but he seemed to have had lot of illicit relationships which drew flake from his wife and lot of his supporters ( Even though it seems to be consensual ). He is very matured in his spirituality levels , but morally he lags here a bit. That's why many hindu / buddhist philosphies combine spiritual teaching with moral teachings. That gives a good balance to enjoy life to its fullest.
  5. I will rephrase the question. Can a body become less ( or more ) conscious? This question is of relevance only if the concept of maha samadhi is real. It is considered as the highest path of spirituality atleast by some people. If we reach such state, the soul ( or consciousness ) is said to leave the body. So, the body has no conscious since it is dead. So, does this mean there is a varying level of consciousness in the space perceived by us?
  6. Thank you, this makes sense, but I am still going to dig deeper. Questions that still arise in my mind are : What is stopping us from experiencing reality as it is all the time if it's not the brain? Is 'feeling' consciousness a capacity that only human body has through rigorous meditation/ psychedelics or is this the other way around? ( Like consciousness of stone >> animal >> human being). If so, why nature is moving in the opposite direction of burying the consciousness deep underneath etc.) The questions are endless just like reality is! What you say here makes sense, maybe the aim of Vedanta teachings was to make understanding reality simpler and hence reach more people.
  7. Yeah, I get that. The whole world / universe is within our experience, which includes my room, the objects in it, my body in it, my eyes / ears / noses and even the brain in it. But, if you meddle with the brain, for eg, if you cut open your own brain and poke the region responsible for seeing with your hands, you will not see anything. Even if brain is a part of consciousness, Can we atleast conclude that brain is atleast responsible for fooling us by limiting the perception of consciousness and giving this illusion?
  8. Can you try to elaborate this further ? Is it like awakening removing the filters over our senses ?
  9. How do we manage to remember that experience when we come back to our reality if it's not through our senses? How is it registered in our mind if it is not through the five senses? Do we have some hidden senses inside our brain? ( Even if brain does not exist , still this perception of reality follows certain rules which are never violated )
  10. Does this mean some people who enter a stage between enlightenment and maha samadhi have a good chance to lose a part of their consciousness when they come back to this reality without dying?
  11. Then with what sense do we experience consciousness if seeing / hearing / feeling etc.. are forms of experiences?
  12. You're welcome ! To make your journey more efficient, try this book : The Mind Iluminated by Culadasa
  13. Right, meditation has an uncountable number of benefits, which improve and stay longer and seems to depend both on our practice time and dedication. When it comes to music, the mind works better when we are in the flow state, something similar to meditation but not the same. ( although we can be mindful while playing music ). There are so many different kinds of meditation. From @Nak Khid's words, he seems to point out to the ultimate fruit of meditation, the enlightenment process, questioning whether it is really necessary to spend years pursuing the same, instead of doing something 'useful'.
  14. Is hugging through words and by actual hugging action all one and the same ? After all it's just an illusion, as long as what you perceive in your mind ( the feeling of hugging ) , it should be the same ! ( Wth, I am asking and also answering the question , who cares, it's all the same if you answer the question or if I answer it )
  15. I too second this too. Meditation is for all the minds, only that 'weak minds' MAY take less time than 'strong minds' in controlling the thoughts, but the benefits seem to vary depending on what the person is after and what perspective of life he was having before meditating.
  16. Yeah, I second this. I belong to this category of 'weak mind'. I don't have much thoughts in my mind, at least when I don't want it. Genetics seems to have a role in deciding what kind of mind you have. Leo has a hyper active creative mind ( which was told by himself and also evident from the various videos he is posting ) and maybe thats why he prefers psychedelics over meditation. Meditation is for weak empty minds, other things are for strong creative minds, but using 'other things' without guidance requires a still stronger mind, to deal with the experience.
  17. The key to removing the perception boundary created by your mind. Experiencing and fusing this idea in your day to day life gives you superpowers. You don't have to worry about death, you don't have to worry about reactions to your actions, because now you know that everything is one and nothing ( or whatever you call it ) and so you don't have to give a damn shit about any repercussions to your actions. But it may also lead people to go in wrong way, commit crimes and disturb the survival process. That's why the idea of karma, heaven, hell and all came up, because enlightenment without morality is destruction. But the combination of both not only increases the chances of survival but also makes nature move faster towards its goal.
  18. I believe in mysticism ( not blindly ) because science is not developed fully yet, but what I have explained , of course, is a scientific theory.
  19. I am currently a believer in science as well as mysticism. In my opinion, by sitting still for long periods of time, we are disabling what we call as a conscious mind and bringing the buried truth deep inside our mind. ( We can see lot of deep hidden emotions bursting up during meditation, this is a proof of that ). Or somehow, we are disabling the part of mind responsible for perception, and thus feeling everything without boundaries. So, naturally, this is how we were, without any boundaries, but nature has felt that it is not helpful for our purpose ( and still that purpose thing is debatable, many say life is an endless cycle, from form to formless, I say it is a well defined process moving towards a goal ), that's why we have developed a brain and an identity that helps us to function individually as well as collaborate together whichever is more effective to achieve that hidden purpose that nature deperately want to achieve. Think of it as a single large organism and we are an organ in it doing a process necessary for the sustainence of that organism forever. All these are theories, and I can say facts only if I experience it, which I haven't done yet. Even if I experience the higher level of perception, I cannot answer all questions, because I am limited and it's good for me not to know everything, atleast for now, atleast for my individual's survival. ( Imagine what will happen if a cell in your body knows it is just working so hard not only for its survival but also for the survival of whole body, all cells might stop working because of their ego and thus the whole body stops working, imagine the body comes up with an idea, gives the cell a perception it feels happy and everything seems to be itself and gives ultimate happiness to it, it imagines that it has discovered everything, becomes ecstatic and goes back to do its work ). But all these are just theories, once again a reminder.
  20. I am a beginner level meditator but I know exactly what is happening to you. As you go to deeper levels of meditation, your subconscious mind opens up and you will get new ideas, which seem very interesting and creative. To get the ultimate insight, you still have to go deeper and deeper, like 10 times deeper and calmer than where you are now. My advice : 1) What's your goal in meditation? Ask this question to yourself. If your goal is to get creative ideas that are very useful in material world, I suggest you stop, take notes and continue meditating from the beginning. You will get a lot of creative ideas. 2) If your goal is to awaken, gently ignore such ideas or insights (even these insights are only at the surface level, they seem to be great, but not as good as you get when you go deeper ) and focus back on the meditative object. 3) If you want both 1 and 2, do meditation twice. One specifically to get ideas, but the other one, specifically to go deeper and get the highest level of insights.
  21. One problem with identifying the benefits of meditation is that the good things happen so slowly but steadily, that they become invisible and hence not 'life transforming', atleast to us. You can try asking people around you whether they notice any change in you or not, especially those with whom you haven't interacted in the recent years.
  22. @Leo Gura What traits in your opinion comes under the category of a weak mind ? A mind which is constantly filled with thoughts? A mind which is dull and has no interest in anything? A mind which cannot handle strong emotions? Or something else?
  23. I am happy that you are so clear in understanding your experience through awakening and trying to explain it to others. I think it's better to experience the absolute state myself and then decide whether to talk about things at a higher level than absolute reality itself ( if at all such thing exists )rather than making assumptions or ideas.
  24. First, we had single cells beings which had a bit of consciousness inside them. They had nothing to do except move here and there , eat and multiply. Through multiplication, they ensured that they are keeping the mechanisms intact. Next we had animals based on earlier mechanisms with some improvement, which can perceive the space around them with higher clarity. And now we have human beings with higher consciousness and mechanisms to perceive reality better than animals, both outside as well as inside ( outside necessary for survival and thus ensuring mechanisms are present for further evolution and inside for knowledge / creativity / enlightenment etc.), that allows us to realise we are a part of a larger mechanism, but still we are confused because the connective mechanism is not developed enough. Death is necessary because otherwise these older mechanisms will occupy unnecessary space without improving. We may evolve into something better in the future, which may always exist and perceives as one. ( Or we may all get wiped out and restart from the beginning somewhere else ). And after that we might still evolve and discover other dimensions that now we cannot even imagine because we are limited by this mechanism. It seems there is no end for this natural process. What do you think of this ?
