@Judi can you try to explain in detail about your Nde? Also, I am happy that we are left only with two possibilities ( I hope ) 1. After death, nothing is there not even awareness. 2. After death, we have an awareness that experiences everything.

We have gravity. We have electricity. We cannot move our body through a wall. We cannot move things with our mind. Nobody is casting spells that light the skies. We have the power to imagine things with our mind but the same cannot be done in the world where we exist. WHY and WHY NOT???

@Leo Gura I agree that laws are relative, but what might be deciding which kind of laws exist where? @remember, everything is how I perceive it to be, I agree. But I can't understand how everything is how I imagine it to be. Yes, planes exist even if I forget them, imagine a plane crashing straight into your home, is it there because you imagined them?The light from the sky falls on the eyes and that enables us to see the beauty of it. Isn't that an external stimuli? Is the experience the same as you imagine a sky in your mind? Isn't imagination itself dependent on memories that you get from the space around you? @Nahm, this I agree and I am always trying make more sense out of it, but the last one, where you say that there is the ability to create the life I most want, what do you mean exactly? Can I create whatever I want while I am confined in this body? Or, is it like, everything is me and everything around me and myself is already happening the way I want it to happen? Does the 'want' exist at all?

Light is one thing that always fascinates me, thank you for giving a new perception to it. @Member Thank you for being honest that you don't know. @LastThursday, your intuitions make great sense too. Coming to the second point, I agree that laws make life beautiful and possible, but why not something different now and then, isn't life too boring with the same laws?

Yes, but still I think only the perception of the world will change using electricity and chemicals. Maybe one day we will create virtual worlds using our imagination and make us do whatever we want but still they have to be within the rules that we program ,which still follow the rules of the universe. We create virtual worlds consciously so that we can have fun. If it's the case within this universe, should it be called imagination? Doesn't imagination mean creating whatever reality we want, including the rules? What's limiting our imagination? Isn't the term misleading? Let us assume everything is the projection of our mind. There can be two possible projectors I can think of. One is the individual's mind. If it is the case, then how can the other individuals' minds project something that does not exist simultaneously with the same accuracy? If we consider the single consciousness existing simultaneously as individual minds as well as everything else, what makes you think the consciousness is capable of imagining what it wants? Why can't it be random stuff? What if there is no imagination at all, but simply everything that can be imagined? By fixed, I don't mean the laws that we discover, but the laws that we perceive in our reality. Why can't I fly to moon without a rocket even though I am able to imagine it? The laws are the ones preventing me from doing that.

I feel some kind of body distortion very often. I think our normal sensory perceptions are getting shut down.

@cnfvmAnything is possible, I may agree. But the ways to make it possible, it isn't straightforward right? Like, if I want to fly now, I can't. Are you sure it is designed in a specific way rather than being random in all possible ways? @justfortoday If there is no physical universe, how is it possible that everything seems so perfect, there should be a glitch somewhere, right? @LastThursdayIt is made up to explain nature. Why is nature in a specific way following a specific patterns rather than being something random? @Artsu That may be possible. But nobody is able to experience that it's possible as far as I know, beyond physical limits. If you can show me somebody, it would be very exciting.

@commie, thank you, I have never heard of this philosophy ( thanks to my crooked brain), but it seems to come near to my view of these laws. The laws simply exist because we are living here and we are able to observe only the laws around us. There should be all possible laws existing in all possible ways in all possible universes, if it has to make sense in some way. If there is something else involved in creating life and this suitable universe to sustain life, even then it must have existed in a universe where all possibilities exist.

Yes, that's the best way. Your mother thinks it's all getting bad because she's is thinking relatively. Her mind and your mind compares things in the near past (and not the distant past ) with the present simply because that's how our minds are conditioned. People's desire never stops because they are relative. Your always desire a better world, no matter how better it is getting everyday. Once you reach the absolute levels of consciousness and stop thinking in relative terms, you will see how beautiful the world is. Even death and poverty will seem beautiful. You sound right, but here's what I think: Everything happens randomly with no reason, in a micro level. But, now everything seems to be organised in a better way, because things which are not organised cease to exist. A good example is evolution, which should have resulted in all possibilities, but we are simply blind to the possibilities because the better organised possibilites are more probable to survive or exist than the other funny random possibilities. When it comes to free will, in a micro level, it happens randomly But we have evolved to such an extent on a macro level that they don't look random anymore. We think that what we want to do happens, but probably it's just random movement of molecules here and there causing those illusions. Science may be able to explain this very soon. When it comes to life, the thought that we have free will matters. That helps us to have purpose, which may help us in our survival process. So, it's better to accept that free will exists and not think too much about it ( if we wish to have a smooth life ).

The free will I think I have seems to have the ability to prevent it. And, thus making me believe in free will again, which is again not because of free will.
