Welcome to India! As long as you eat hot fresh cooked foods, you will be safe though. Just make sure there is a good crowd waiting to eat those cholestrol heavy foods. You should also avoid juice with ice cubes, better to drink it without ice or you could have the refrigerated packed ones. Welcome to the first cultural shock! I pray that you have many more. Even if the trains are not packed, people love to hang out on the foot board. I love to enjoy the view from a distance though. -

To be frank, it is amusing how a technique such as meditation developed to enquire inwards creates numerous good side effects in the process, so much that many people don't know why it was created in the first place. There is a reason why many tell that the journey matters more than the destination. -
Nice. Been out of touch with the forum for quite a while, didn't notice that.

Poor people die soon. I believe that's a well researched truth. Maybe your logic is the one of the reasons why the income gap in my country is becoming wider and wider.

It's neither a zen mastery or devilry. It's how you train soldiers to not get killed in the battle. -
Here comes the most popular question of the month.

That's a good idea, no other alien would know what the microscope guy is watching. Provided they have a feeling called secrecy. -

Sometimes the important things have to be repeated again and again in order to etch it in our mind. I bet atleast 90% of the people who knows the importance of being mindful don't practise it. -

Like people watching bacterias under a microscope? -

It's important to recognise that meditation, psychedelics or any suggested methods to enlightenment are just logical pathways constructed for the logical mind to sense some progress. Humans enjoy progress, don't they? -

These are all some side effects of the awakening process. But don't keep awakening at a pedestal, for its not, and when done so, can create delusions. -
You can be compassionate towards a person and still kill him for the welfare of the society.

Maybe God doesn't mind suffering a little, as it accounts for atleast half of the experiences possible. -
Congrats for overcoming your negative thoughts! Not easy at all. To add a thing about engineering, millions of people of in my state go into engineering and most have no idea of what it is or no interest at all before joining it. But most of them do good in their life and switch to their passion after earning enough money or develop interest in engineering itself despite initially not having it after some experience.

I think this guy is one: I think many are. -

There are many different ways to experience life right now, although the way you mentioned is also one of the ways to experience it. As long as your mind adjusts to the good and bad experiences, there is no unlimited suffering in offer. Humans with complex emotions came here just a million years ago, whereas the universe is here for more than 10 billion years. The humans right now are the new born babies who cry for a few days after they are born. No doctor tells that crying is bad for your new born baby. Just remember that nothing is permanent. -
Ha ha!

Ha ha! But I think there's a way to hide the hole. It's hidden somewhere in the Android settings, I believe. You would lose a bit screen space though.

@Adrian colby , thank you for the detailed and open minded reply. You have saved a lot of time for me as my reply was supposed to be in similar lines. Here are some more similar points to ponder: 1. Open mindedness alone cannot create a better society, but it's an important factor in the advancement of the same. It has to be combined with compassion, love or other characters of selflessness. For example, imagine you are a judge in a court of law. When we are dealing with a rapist, pedophile, murderer etc. , we can punish them for the welfare of the society and at the same time, be open minded and compassionate towards them for not being in control of their desires, circumstances, upbringing etc. This can even lead to better alternative punishments for the same. 2. Homosexuality doesn't hurt the society in a major way, whereas things like pedophilia and cannibalism do hurt others in extreme magnitudes. That's why lines are drawn based on the magnitudes of suffering they bring. Nobody exactly knows how much suffering each act brings. That's an important reason why every country has their unique set of laws, while open mindedness and compassion also do play a role. 3. Even if accepting homosexuality brings lot of mental suffering to the closed minded societies, we can't argue much about it, because sex is accepted as a basic need for human beings in most societies. Prohibiting homosexuality would be similar to not allowing anyone to practice your own religion, simply because you hate any religion other than the one you follow or worried about people getting converted to the new religion. To be fair, it's much worse than that.

You don't have to be so hard on yourself, especially when you have fewer alternatives. Even moving your hand to the left instead of right could kill a bunch of people.

I would say an intention or curiosity or desire to know who I am or who God is will push us towards a direction that helps us to know about the truth. The tools may be different, what is necessary is to be in flow with our being. One way or the other, it will lead towards the truth, but going against the flow and ignoring the tools coming towards us may push us away.

Here's a positive documentary about food in India with some flavours of spirituality.
