@Leo Gura Don't you have to find balance between the ego and the real I? Because the true I doesn't have any feature and can't really do the daily activities except for being aware. Don't you have to morph those two together so you can do productive stuff? Because now, that I become more aware of the true I, the ego is starting to ask itself what the point is if at the end, the one who acts is the ego anyway. Also, I can not say that there's a brain because it isn't in my direct experience, but what about heart? I can feel something pumping in my chest, so therefore I can say that I have a heart right? -

Ok, I just realized that questions such as will it be cured and all, are ego related because the real I doesn't care about that because it has no attributes some days my ego is really strong and the stronger the pain, the stronger the ego -> looking for solutions for cure. So, I apologize again for mixing up 1st order questions and 2nd order ones. Again, thank you for your patience <3 who knows, maybe if I'm really enlightened in 20 years time, I can do self healing -

Yes, I already took a look at them and there are some that I still need to experience, but some I already have. I feel like I have a 0.5% glimpse into reality. Still need to practice more -

Ok, understood. I guess the healing the process is something I'll have to find out -

Ok, makes sense. Yes, but that doesn't mean that it's false, right? I know for a fact that because of that bar on my neck, on that very day, I had the worst headache ever (so painful that I had to tear up) Had it ever since, but not as bad that I have to cry . I even felt that something moved, but ok, what happened, happened, but it is still good to know what caused it so that you can find a solution for it (when I go to a physio for instance so they know what to do about it) Sorry if I am talking a lot about my accident and my injury, but it's something that bothers the ego, not the I, but the ego and the ego is trying to find ways to cure it. Yes, I understand that pain is pain and it's a sensation, but is there a cure for this? (haha, I'm asking you as if you are a doctor :D) -

Ok, true, at this VERY MOMENT, there is no skull. When I touch my head, what is that? How am I supposed to describe that? Yes, I mean that pain is caused by a bar (while doing squats) on my neck and while I was going up it moved something at my neck and since then I have this pain, hence me going to physio therapy, but until now no luck Anyway, the reason why I'm telling you that is because the ego obviously wants it to be healed and obviously nobody can say if it will, but "I" have faith. However, if it is self caused and pain is pain, this pain on my neck caused the numbness in my right leg too, so somehow it is connected. By what? consciousness? Measurements such as physio therapy, what are they doing? Moving my consciousness to the right place again? -

Interesting stuff indeed. One key word that I really took away from my confusion, questions and answers is direct experience. The question then arises.. 1. what is really in our skull? 2. how does law of attraction then work because that's the work of the ego's thought.. 3. coming back to my accident, how is the pain caused when there's no brain? because since that accident the pain is in my head, upper back and my right leg goes a bit numb from time to time. -

Ha, interesting. So, humans just observed the "brain" and gave it a label. But doesn't that apply to everything else that "we" have? Like "arm" "legs" "head" etc etc. I guess this is because the Ego needs to have a meaning. Even if it is just a thought, how did they invent a device that was able to detect the activities within "the brain"? So, all of the parts of the "brain" is just a mere label? So, is then the amgydala for instance, really responsible for emotions and the hippocampus for memory? Ok, I get that, but how is the pain caused then? My right side of the neck is also more swollen, so what happened there if the nerves or spine didn't move? the consciousness? True. -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
as in like a made up concept of mankind? or what do you mean? So, basically, everything "I" do just happens. In this case, the I is the ego, but the true I is actually the awareness that is always present. So, this ego I, is made up of stories that defines "Winny", but Winny is not I, but rather a character that is made up, right? What about emotions? How are emotions there if in reality, I am mere awareness? Also, pain...as already mentioned, I had an accident 5 years ago and there's pain in "my" right side of the head. This "my" is targeted at Winny. "I" did an MRI scan and it showed that the nerves have been affected. Now, since there might not even be a brain, are nerves even true then? and if not, what is causing the pain? This ultimately means (or doesn't mean) that nothing actually matters because mere awareness doesn't have any desires. However, we live in a world where money is needed and therefore, the ego, which the awareness is not in control of, does its thing to get it? So, this then involves getting good habits in place or eliminating bad habits, knowing when it functions best, etc. Is this correct to assume it that way? -

I will definitely do that. Yes, I realize that I'm not my thoughts and the fact that I said at the beginning that I'm my brain...I'm starting to notice that that is not true because it is really irrelevant whether the brain exists or not, what is TRUE is RIGHT NOW. My direct experience. It is the awareness of everything in my direct experience, but I still need to do more of self inquiry. However, I can say that I'm on the right track (I think) because even right now when I write I...I'm like who is this I ur talking about??? Yesterday, I was with my grandparents at dinner and I was just literally enjoying observing the present and I just realizing that whatever I thought who I was, was just wrong I got another question though...what about reactions and actions I take? I mean...I'm aware of them, but who's controlling them? Like I know that they arrive kind of out nowhere, but what is this nowhere? Also, when I (who the f*** am I talking about right now when I say I? :D) access my memory..I can do that. Who is doing that? The emptiness? No, because even right now I'm just aware of what I'm writing and not really doing it...what the fuck? O_o -

So, Leo, I want to give you an example of how my self inquiry goes and you can point out to me if I'm on the right track and what thought pattern is keeping me stuck. So, I sit there for 25 minutes and ask the following: - who am I? - you are the brain, of course - how do I know that? - well, everything you do, comes from the brain - but RIGHT NOW, who am I? - you are aware of your sensations and your thoughts...isn't that your brain? - why should it be the brain? - because it is scientific proven - your DIRECT EXPERIENCE...RIGHT NOW...who are you? - someone is always watching my thoughts, which doesn't speak and doesn't do anything...am I the awareness? - could it be? - but then who comes up with these thoughts? - they come up out of nowhere...so is this nowhere you? - you cannot only be the awareness cause else who is doing the actions? coming up with thoughts? who decides things? - me - who is this me? it can't be you because you are a thought and you are definitely not a thought - its nothing? That's where I'm currently stuck at. These thoughts they arrive out of nowhere. So, is this nowhere and nothing that is deciding everything? My thoughts, actions, including the awareness? Right now when I'm typing all of this, who decided this? It's not the thought, but it's the one BEFORE the thought, which is located nowhere. Am I right? Am I on the right track? -

That's very interesting! Does this then mean that everything we have believed to be true until now has to be ALL inquired? Like the existence of blood, hormones (endorphine, dopamine, etc.), perception, nature, etc. etc. just existence of EVERYTHING. We can't trust anyone then? -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
RIGHT NOW is what I see, hear, touch, sense and am aware of so therefore, it is true. It could be false, I don't know, but does it really matter? If all of what I am aware of at this very moment, isn't that what determines what I know of? Whether true or false, it is HERE. One question, can a blind person also become spiritual enlightened? You say a lot in your videos, just look at your hand right here and right now and what about a blind person? He then has to be aware of the sounds? I'll do my inquiry on that -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ok, I guess what it really boils down to is TESTING IT OUT YOURSELF before believing others about anything. Well, it's something that I am aware of RIGHT NOW. hmm...that is a really good question since fantasy seems so real that you can not differentiate it from reality. Therefore, I can not answer that. I guess (not 100% sure) -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, that I can say is true because that is something I experience. Can't say just yet because I still have to do more self inquiry Ok, I get that, but what do I base my future actions on if there's no some sort of proof? Let's just say, as an example, a post is published on how to be more productive. We all know that you should have a strong why, having a vision, limitiing distractions, etc. but then there's a new discovery saying that if you repeat the word "banana" 100 times, it will somehow affect your basal ganglia, which is responsible for habits, and all of your bad habits will be gone (a VERY absurd example, which is not true at all ) I just want to get my point across that people will believe it more when it is backed by proof of the brain. What about scans that show the different activities of the brain? (I know I talked about this already, but can technology lie to us as well?) I agree with this. -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ok, so, everything that I do is just based on RIGHT FREAKING NOW ONLY. It doesn't matter what I think or do and ponder, what is most relevant is just RIGHT NOW because that's what all there is. Correct? What if I'm reading a book RIGHT NOW on optimizing your sleep to improve the brain and what it does to it. But, whatever the effects on the brain it has (according the book) I just dismiss that because there's no brain? so then I just sleep 1 hour a day (just an example). -

Wow, thank you for being so patient with me Leo. I can imagine how frustrating it can be when someone like me keeps on saying that he's the brain Ok, ok...I'll keep on working harder at self inquiry then. What about psychology? I like to read psychology stuff and there they talk a lot about the brain and the different functions, what am I supposed to think then? "Hey, the brain doesn't exist?" Thank you again for being so patient with me and still responding to all of the messages. -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ok, these last days I kept on doing the self inquiry about who I really am and I keep on coming back to the brain. The one who generates the thought, the one who processes the information, the one who's aware of everything. I can not pin point directly which part of the brain I am, but I consider all of it to work together and makes up who I am because if for instance, let's say the amygdala is taken away, then some emotions will also be gone, but I will still be there. If someone shoots me in the brain then Im gone. I know that Leo says that the brain doesn't exist, but yet there's a pink thing inside of our skull and there are neurons in there, people also see it in various of scans...so yep, I'm confused again. Perhaps someone can help me out. -

Yes, thank you very much. I also realized that I was living in a conceptual mind, but now I have the question answered, now it's time to put in the work -

@John Iverson Thank you for your insight. I'm just going to contemplate and start experiencing it -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
In that case, maybe I don't, maybe I do. Does everyone have to have that reaction of OH NO!!! that's very simplified, don't you think? Maybe that was "your" reaction and so you assume that that must be everyone's reaction as well. It seems to me that you are not enlightend yourself or else you would come from a place of compassion rather stating that I what I said was ignorant "You" are putting meaning to things and intepreting it your way. Yes, it is true that I am not enlightened and it is true that I don't grasp the concept yet of the brain not existing, but I'm not ignorant because I'm not denying the fact that it's true. I'm just asking questions. But ok, thank you for your insight. -

Ok, I'm starting to understand a bit more then before. I guess I've just been indoctrinated and grown up with this. I still have to explore this by myself though and dissect it step by step. So yes, everything is found in consciousness or rather everything IS consciousness, but then is there any explanation for thinking, learning, meditating, etc ? I guess these set of principles (getting enough sleep, exercising, repeating something until you remember it, etc) still hold true whether a brain exists or not...right? Also, what actually happens to someone who is retarded if there's no brain? -
Winny replied to Winny's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Ok, that makes more sense. That is the bigger picture I suppose. What about the smaller picture though? Like memorizing stuff or habits or beta, alpha, theta, delta states. Where does that occur if not in the brain? Leo, you have your set of principles too, you can't deny that. You keep yourself in check, you learn, you meditate, you exercise (i'm assuming), you get your sleep, you take psychedelics, which all have an effect on...? your brain? I'm sorry if I keep on talking about this. You are probably tired of hearing the word brain from me
