He isn't developed enough to introspect. He will just get paranoid and he'll think you are trying to trick him. This is hard for me. I can be with them for a while and stay present and i see that it heals them. But after a while I either disconnect or drop to their level. If I disconnect the conversation becomes pointless and I just try to leave. If I drop to their level conversation becomes negative, so if you can stay present and loving do it.

Oh god no. 1. He doesn't know why, he is just reacting. 2. Don't show that he gets to you. He will use it to hurt you later. 3. This could get bad really fast. If he finds cameras he could go into rage and seriously hurt you. Cops won't care and even if you succeed he will try to get back at you. He is not a rational person, he will do something stupid don't risk it. Just get out if it's that bad. 4. Pepper spray doesn't work that well is a closed space against a bigger person. You might not even be able to use it if you're slow or if he recognizes what you're doing. Even if you use it if he is bigger he can rush you through it and if he gets a hold of you and you can't fight you're fucked.

@Fran11 Sometimes it's easier to change gender than to deconstruct it. Even if you deconstruct it you still need to live in a society so it's important that we deconstruct it collectively not just individually. But yea I think we'll completely deconstruct it in the future. Edit: now I've been thinking and I think there is some truth to the stereotypes so is it possible to completly deconstruct gender?

He is a stupid kid that put himself in a situation where he was forced to defend himself. If he was competent he either wouldn't have provoked the crowd to charge him or he would have stopped them before they came so close he got scared and went into survival mode. That is why 17 year old kids can't run around with guns playing cops. Because they are too immature to see 2 steps ahead.

Ok so brain isn't fully developed until 26 so you can't think critically enough and you'll make stupid decisions. Until then you don't get a gun you can have a taser, pepper spray and baton. You work with someone who has a gun so you can be safe until then. Preferably in a safer neighborhood at beginning. Before you get a gun you have to have a certificate for: hand to hand combat, shooting and healthy psychology. You don't need to have those certificates before you start working as a cop. Of course have basics in the academy but not to that level. You can earn them while you are being a police officer with a taser. Have organized classes for example you can take 1 hour out of 8 from your work day and use it in training. Maybe even outside work, weekends and such. I like cops having to option to do paid training be it in the gym, shooting range, or mat. So they stay in shape. Maybe allow them to take it form work hours, maybe make it count as overtime idn.

Might not be better than nothing. If someone tries to rob you and you both pull out knives and get into a fight best case scenario is you win but leave with permanent scars, worst case you die. If you aren't trained in knife combat i wouldn't do it. Best thing you could carry is pepper spray. You can disable them from a safe distance and run away. Or just give them what you have it's just stuff.

What if you can't find new people to replace them? People at academy would be more open to that stuff but older cops wouldn't. What would you do with older cops or just cops who aren't open to change before and after the new batch of cops is ready? I think that here the problem is immunity and not level of development. Green is still not tolerant of intolerant people.
