  1. I like the characters that you've made up, and you seem to be a natural at coming up with names. I always have the hardest time coming up with names for characters.. Have you seen the 1930s beauty and beast film? It has gorgeous visuals. It has a theater/dramatic mood to it, kinda like your story I also loved the vintage Bollywood songs that you posted a couple of weeks ago, so thanks for sharing those. This song was my favorite If you'd like I can paint/illustrate your characters, or a painting that looks like a vintage movie/theater poster, or a scene from your story. (If you don't want me to thats fine! )
  2. This is really sad, when I do venture off to the main parts of the forum I've come to see your voice as being both grounded in reason and intellect, and empathy/emotion. Same with @Emerald. I appreciate your presence on this forum. I don't think it's healthy to push out every person who disagrees with some parts of how Leos teachings or how the forum runs, I think there can be room and tolerance for both <3
  3. I saw this song recommendation the other day was listening to these songs today
  4. Hahaa. Yeah, I'd feel sorry for her to, until I saw her weaving flowers through her ivory skull sculpture collection.
  5. @seeking_brilliance I signed up for it recently so I can post it there later today! Yeah if you can send me the image then that'd be great, if I can't just copy and paste it. (not really sure how it works yet)
  6. @Hulia Nice poem! Ok. You and I. Poetry battle - second round, go! (just kidding :P) @Eternal Unity Awesome, GL with your writing process for part two Here's one last thing I wrote A Sirens Bitter Song: At daybreak I wake, wrapped in my blanket of water. I’m with my family, our scales are shining and sharp nails glinting in the rays. We rest on the leaves of seaweed that coil way up to the ocean’s top. The only humans here are dust and turned to mucky stone. As routine, I swim up to the air and view the surroundings. Peering towards the horizon line, I spot a sailing ship and I think of the voices I heard in past desperation. Why were they so afraid? I don’t understand. You say it’s my fault, that my fury causes pain. But isn’t it you who has caused all the corrupt things on the surface of this planet? My rage isn’t the same rage that you feel, we are not in agreement. But what are either of us to know? My place isn’t on the Earth, but neither do I want your place to be up there. I take pride in my voice, and satisfaction in collecting my human prizes. You say that I’m a destroyer, but I don’t view my home as a place of destruction. I like to create beautiful things, rare things. I weave gemstones and seaflowers into a garden of ivory sculptures. I’ll consider your words...for a moment. I think on this as I stare into the distance, waiting for you to come, watching the morning mist evaporate and the clouds pass. But soon these thoughts will be swept away. But my children and I are hungry, and we thrive on collective shattered dreams and devouring anger til it reaches the bottom of the ocean to never be seen or used as fuel to destroy again. So please…don’t mock me, don’t tell me I’m wrong. All I hear is lies.
  7. @seeking_brilliance Your story is great (: The wording was very fitting with the painting and gave it an old timy feel, very eloquent and draws me the reader in. @Eternal Unity I'm interested in a part two. And the name 'Quantum warriors' is really intriguing. Here's a poem O siren, Do you hear me calling? I called at break of day and set my oars and sails at bay There’s trouble in the wind, a December’s hush and lull that’s Waitin' for a storm I work from dawn to dusk and wearily await your call O siren, You guard the skulls with eyes of envy Or is it mine, that subtle wish, For rest, bountiful and plenty? This song I sing has turned afloat I think I am deceived with who's voice is who's, and which song is where is it your call I hear?
  8. Today I was feeling nostalgic for Wii games I played as a kid and was thinking about this song
  9. Me. To. I have moments of not caring what others think, I had a lot of social anxiety when I was younger but felt like the world was my playground when I was really young. Play to me feels like being really immersed in something fun in the moment, or having a good laugh or time with friends, but I forget that a lot. Do you feel like journaling comes as a natural fun thing for you? I've been thinking about how forced my journaling is, but from what I've read so far your journal has a pretty carefree feel to it. (I've never seen the shining btw, now I kinda want to) Hahaa, gotta love it when that happens when re reading a book! With Pride and Prejudice I didn't know Elizabeth got with Darcy for the longest time, because when I watched the movie I felt asleep at the end. Somehow I was surprised when I read the ending of the book for the first time, even though its a no brainer.
  10. I’m so sorry your feeling this way and living in such harsh condition. ):
  11. Kate Bush just being herself, frolicking in the woods. What an inspiration
  12. Here's something I've been working on, I had the idea last week to draw out a sort of nightmare I had a long time ago, and then decided to incorporate the image prompt into it - the fire monster, the child, and the sword. This was suuper fun to write and draw, as weird as it turned out, so thank you for the image inspo
  13. Ive had this song on my spotify play list for like 8 years now, and this is my first time seeing the music video, its fun to watch
  14. I'm happy to see you post here, I always love reading your stories (and others too!) I especially like the lines 'To him, nothing is worse than remembering what was lost', 'for the days he spent frolicking through seedy alleys and bustling streets were not a foolish waste after all', 'there never was a wise adult--there has only ever been the Kid.'
  15. I liked the raising sand song (: I was thinking about showing it to my mom, being the kind song I'd think she'd like, and then I looked up her other songs and realized she did sometimes listen her music. I sang 'I'll fly away' in school choir
  16. Ha! Now I know, this is the original summer song Thank god Ive found out this has been in the back of my mind for a year Original song: That song inspired this song Which inspired Lana Del Reys song and the other song is inspired back to the original Possible/speculative songs that inspired the original 'summertime' song: Which are all very beautiful songs
  17. The beginning of summer mood (I read that the lyrics are kind of sad, but since its in French I don't understand much of it) Mid summer mood Late summer days mood Which always reminds me of this song. Is Lana's song a cover of a cover of this song? Both share the same lyrics 'Summer time, and the livings easy' but the notes are almost...inverted.
  18. I was surprised to see this song only has 24,000 views
  19. I'm on a David Bowie kick this morning This was strange, hearing the earlier version of 'Space Oddity', the rhythm was different, a bit more lighthearted. In my head I yelled out 'NERD hehe.' youtube comment on this vid: "tell my wife i love her very much" says the guy with two women in a bed at the end of the video. I think he sang particularly well in this live performance *so pretty*
  20. side notes - I like how her dog is kinda following her around wondering why she's dancing wildly about, looking at the tomatoes she dropped in the kitchen. Also I normally don't like carpet but I really like her green carpet in her living room - it just works with the window views, making the carpet look natural and grassy
  21. I saw these music videos today, the first one both infuriated me (I don't know why - such annoyingly low quality camera?) and amused me and I laughed at this one too, I've never seen people doing a bird mating dance and use that idea for a music video
  22. Sufjan Steven's collaborative album 'Planetarium' gives me the feeling of being a planet in the empty outer space, but with chaotic human feelings
  23. I'll read one of the book suggestions sometime when I have more time on my hands, thanks for the suggestions. I'm so used to thinking before writing something down, so I'm sure it'll be quite the different experience
  24. Thanks for sharing, I always find it so fascinating learning about other people's creative processes. I'm not too familiar with channeling, is that like tapping into your higher self/subconscious, getting into a flow writing state, just writing down what comes to your head? That's my first assumption anyways. Do you think some people have a higher natural ability towards this, or is something everyone can do? On another note, since your other post about dream writing, I've been thinking more about dreams vs reality vs more dreams, how they're different but not as different as I previously thought them to be. I think critiques are wonderful, my first year of college I didn't like them and felt more egotistical about it all, but after that I learned to take and give proper art critiques. Even if it hurt, in a good way (usually - lol.) And distinguish against good critiques vs not so helpful ones. Hmm, I wonder why channeling is harder for novel writing. (not that I've ever done either, just wondering.) long format stories seem so complicated, and a huge amount of effort and thinking compared to short stories. That's great that you've found a more aligned essence for the story, and it's super interesting how you shifted around some things in order to make it work, like an alternate dimension. The closest thing that I can relate to that, is when I'm working on a more complicated art piece, the initial small thumbnail studies are the most important, the core energy/life/movement, and translating that to something large and details often leaves the art piece loosing some of that energy, and there's a huge period of time at the end of the painting that is just doing the last fixes, the hardest part for me. Or mid way I'll have to make the hard choice to scrap it altogether, if I take a far back look at it and realize at first glance it doesn't feel right. Good luck on your book, that's very exciting.
