  1. Hello fellow actualizers, I am wondering if you can help me out here. I am having this occur more frequently in meditation where I feel like I am becoming more aware of the fact reality is indeed mystical, and that I don't know what the fuck is going on with anything, which scares me. At first, I thought this about specific parts of life, like why did this person say this or that, but now I am starting to see this in everything, in how nothing actually makes rational sense . At first, I didn't see reality as that mystical, but now I am feeling otherwise, although I haven't had any breakthroughs or samadhis, this is beginning to be intuited more. When I contemplate this, I start to cry heavily as I say to myself, 'how is everything being' , 'how is this existing', and reality itself is almost traumatising me as I lose the ability to comprehend it. Is this response ok and am I moving in the right direction ? Should I just keep meditating as usual just focusing on breath etc or should I contemplate more on just this?
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3XUee3-meA hey guys, i was on youtube randomly and I watched this video by sam Harris on why we should meditate. Whats funny is that he starts to sound a lot like Leo, saying that being is fundamentally mysterious the more you look at it, and that if you look at your hand etc it becomes less and less obvious as to what is is. Watch from around 2.30 . Do you think he is secretly not as materialist as he says or is this just meant to be a feel good video to get people to subscribe to his app?
  3. lol. No offence but I don't know why anyone here would take them seriously on THESE matters. They could say anything and it would be accepted. But pimping is like that haha
  4. @Inliytened1 lol yeah, i forgot. He has to be responsible for his students and lead them on the right path Every time he introduces a guest he always has to talk about all of their credentials like their phd and college degrees so that his listeners will even open their ears and listen to them speak Then again, itäs a paid subscription program that's meant for rationalists. He tends to judges how valuable the conversation is by how much that person validates or repeats what he already believes, yet calls himself non dogmatic. Alas, the torchbearers go on to proclaim the virtues of open discussion and free discourse. It angers me included because nowadays any intellectual can basically just start do a few retreats and write a few books and people will listen to basically anything they say and go along with them as the voice of reason. Just pure marketing brand name bullshit. But I guess that's just current society at this moment. No one really cares about truth in the end. It's a more systematic problem in society but doesn't really affect us I suppose. People listen to instagram models for answers to their problems too
  5. @Dino D logic, science and thinking are only possible through experience lol, which are just human constructs. experience doesn't need science to be real, truth doesn't need facts or logic to be truth. No one can observe an external world, only their direct experience which they can make stories about as much as they like. 'External world' is just a concept, direct experience isn't. People invented the concept of an external world for pragmatic purposes. Other people, logic , reason etc are just fabrications of your own mind that you use to convince yourself that they are not fabrications of your own mind lol and that they are somehow given which is ludicrous. If there was no mind , none of these things would exist, but you seem very insistent that they are. You will never get anywhere trying to defend these man made concepts. You are trying to convince yourself more than anyone else or you wouldn't keep repeating the same rationalist ideas ad nauseam. You aren't actually listening to anyone, you are just trying to spread your mind virus which you identify with, otherwise you wouldn't keep answering with another 100 answers every time someone tries to show you something new. Actually spend a few days contemplating what someone has said rather than feeling the need to respond impulsively so that you can feel that you're right, which is all people like you care about doing. You aren't comfortable with entertaining anything other than what you know, so you double down on the same arguments that any person off the street would come up with if they hear anything which goes against their rationalist dogmas they learnt at school. The point of this forum is to help people move beyond this thinking and not cling to it like a scared child, which is how you are acting, otherwise you are in the wrong place
  6. @SpYITB lol, stop trying to act smart by trying to rationally compare peoples views and try and pick the one which most suits how you think now. Go and wake up. You are just procrastinating and being a spectator rather than taking any action it seems. You are like people who watch sports and make comments on which team is the best. Take it seriously rather than mental masturbation. No one will take you seriously.
  7. Sorry but most pickup artists are completely incompetent. @TheSource They pose zero threat to anyone other than themselves, willing to put themselves in stupid situations that could potentially hurt them physically and mentally just to get some female attention, like getting beat up by someones boyfriend. The small number of 'pickup artists' that do get successful usually start their own thing, and get a following from a bunch of unsuccessful guys, or they leave entirely because they don't want to be around them any longer. It's just funny to me when society or you discusses the threat of them as if they are dangerous, when in reality they a bunch of socially awkward guys who were left to fend for themselves. To say that they are somehow an existential threat to you is kind of hilarious. Pickup is becoming more rare as more society becomes more insular and 'progressive' if that's how you want to interpret it, so I guess you should be happy that more men useless with women and harmless to anyone or anything
  8. This conversation is an absolute waste of time. Take the psychedelic and afterwards decide for yourself, instead of posting a bunch of videos from this or that 'guru' in order to prove to yourself the validity of what you think to be true. Some of you are trying to humiliate Leo by taunting him for explanations when he says something that isn't approved of by Papjimoojibabajitajihaji or whoever person you deify. It doesn't matter what Leo thinks, it seems like you are trying to single him out because he thinks different to people like Mooji etc, which is pretty low of you and unnecessary. See for yourself what the effect is, rather than making people like him conform to what someone has said because they have a big audience around them and you position them as an authority. Be your own authority. No one's forcing you to believe that psychedelics can elevate your consciousness, so when someone tells you that, you don't have to attack them when they are giving their honest view on it. I am not ass kissing anyone, but it's just plain rude to start poking someone for explanation, and then get annoyed when they don't suck up to you.
  9. @Shunyata can't take you seriously guy
  10. @Inliytened1 Yes, I thought of that before! But I am far from knowing they are me haha. Funny because my mum actually introduced me to all this though vedanta.
  11. @Shunyata It wasn't my intention to be an annoying attention seeker. If that is what you think please refrain from commenting further thank you very much.
  12. Hey Kafei. Nice to see you on here. If you want to get more views on a thread like this I recommend that you write a short summary of the theory of which people can get a basic idea of what he is saying, then put the links below. E.g. this is the theory.... these are the basic ideas etc. Links are ok, but the site looks kind of overwhelming, but its up to you! I'd write a new post from scratch and redo it. I have been on the site and doubt many people will have the energy to read it all and try and come to a conclusion. Should be able to do it in a few paragraphs or less depending on what you think, Owl
  13. @The_Alchemist Wow, I'm actually surprised you haven't been removed from the forum with your word vomit posts. There's nothing 'strong' about having millions of dollars that you don't need and feeling the need for people and fancy cars around you in order to boost your self worth. Leo's videos are priceless. I am stunned at the stupidity and complete irrelevance of some of these posts!! You are stuck in stage orange with a very subjective idea of development. It is funny to me how humans feel the need to defend random people on the internet from people they don't even know
  14. Hey guys. I wanted to make this post to try to understand why after years of meditation a lot of people are still very much extremely secular and very touchy about the metaphysical aspect of spiritual practices. For instance, now meditation has gone mainstream, but it has very much become stripped of all its potentially non scientific elements, so they call it mindfulness and try it recontextualize it in terms of being something to calm stress and help with anxiety and things rather than anything profound or woo woo. There are a lot of meditation apps and things in the west now, but I have met a lot of people who despite doing it are still pretty much full of their base desires and impulses and very much anti spirituality and mysticism. Like Sam Harris and atheist meditation practitioners for instance will say that enlightenment experiences are possible, but that this doesn't change the truth of science or any of its foundations, or the current debates on consciousness. It seems pretty shocking that this is the case, but what is the reason for this? It seems like the ego mind is so powerful that it can literally turn neutralise anything that threatens its being. Maybe Leo or someone else said this, but I heard a story where it says that if Jesus really did come back again, people would literally treat him like a lunatic and lock him in an asylum or something, even if they knew deep down for a fact it was him.
  15. Yes, it's just interesting how in star wars, the dark side and the Jedi both seem to be very keen on meditation but there also different kinds of meditation I suppose.
  16. @Striving for more As long as you act like a 'pickup artist', you will always be called one hah wherever you go. Can't really answer those questions for you. It is pretty liberal there as far as I know, drugs are easy to find there. Im not really on this forum for pickup purposes in all honesty. I haven't lived there, but I'd assume if you just want to get an unskilled job then its a little risky to just go there. Personally I wanna move to Sweden or German, but that's because Im more of a hippie, so it does really depend on your goals and you're temperament. Good luck.
  17. @Javfly33 No no no haha. I am an empath so I absorb peoples energies a lot easier than normal people and whenever I go to London compared to nicer places I get a completely different feeling. I don't like the amount of people there , I start to feel claustrophobic. Ask anyone about London and they'll tell you the same. You do know out of all the towns, it has the lowest happiness index which means its literally the most miserable place in UK, and has the highest rates of anxiety in the country. https://metro.co.uk/2019/10/23/london-continues-to-be-most-miserable-place-in-the-uk-10971619/ LOL. The happiest people I saw In London were the Hare Krishnas and they stood out really strongly. And the Hare Krishnas are happy just because they are singing about consciousness, NOT London And by the way, I don't know when you were in London, but you do know a lot of streets now in London are literally famous for men hitting on women, because there are so many pickup artists spam approaching girls in certain parts and doing their thing. Doesn't really give the best impression. Especially when a lot of them do it in a cringey way. Puts a lot of girls off and for good reason. But I'm happy you enjoyed it man.
  18. @Striving for more Yeah man. Go to Barcelona. You'll have a great time. Then message me when you are there!
  19. Personally I would NOT choose London if you don't just want to be approaching girls all the time. Like if your only pursuit is meeting women. Generally, weather is either raining or bitter cold. People are always stressed and frowning. Swarms of crowds of people on every street, surrounded by brick and concrete all around you. Not really my kind of habitat. Not the best conditions for a peaceful mind, at least in the majority of cases. Good for game, but for me, I want to be somewhere which nourishes me and gives me good energy, where I am spiritually enriched, whether it be by nature, or water, or general beauty that comes from a place. If the city drains me, then it will be harder to be in a good state in to talk to girls if you know what I mean. But if the place has a high vibration quote on quote, It will be easier to be in a better state, where people are generally happier and more receptive and where you are happier. Have to find a balance, but I would go to Europe rather than UK. Even if you sleep with the best girls in London, the city itself would not make it worth my while to endure its downsides. Plus, its very stage orange there, if you wanna use spiral dynamics for this purpose.
  20. Hey Leo, or whoever fellow forum person, This is my first post and not my last! I am still a beginner in this relative to all you more experienced people. I have heard from Leo that things like yoga or the look at your hand exercise can take years and many hours of deep practice in order to gain benefits from. The problem is that, although I am determined and someone who genuinely want to access the truth of myself and reality, I can only sustain doing the self inquiry or whatever for a couple of weeks before I start to get depressed and hopeless from just being left with an absence of meaning or sense to the experience. I start having thoughts to myself like why does God make it so hard to discover itself, that nothing has any meaning, and whether there is any point doing it at all. For instance, yesterday I was doing the hand exercise, and although I am getting better at letting go of stories and concepts in head of why the hand is there, I can't help but to feel a sense of existential dread at the fact that nothing I think can justify why anything is here. I logically hear that it takes a long time or that a psychedelic can help (which are inaccessible where I live), but when it comes down to the practices I get a put off and wander how just sitting here for a long time is going to change my state of consciousness, since all I'm doing is looking at one thing in the present moment?! I can't justify it from my current state of being.. The post may sound negative, but it comes from a desire to understand how to overcome this setback in continuing with this work to start gaining wisdom. Hope to hear from you, Tweet Twoo!
  21. @No Self Thanks, I didn't think some of the points were faulty assumptions, I thought they were simply true. They were subtle beliefs I realise now.
  22. @Leo Gura Haha I'm glad the 'Hey Leo or whoever forum person' line got your attention. Its' gonna be the new awkward greeting. Both you and the forum people noticed 'oh shiit is he talking to me or what?' And wow Leo. I know this sounds a bit like fanboy talk but it kinda made my day that you replied on this. Its pretty funny how quick people respond to these things I am really impressed. It's hard to find anyone to find answers from in the real world. Can make you feel pretty isolated. Thanks for clarifying this with these points. It 'means' a lot. ... I'll take these into account next time start getting doubts or whatever.
  23. Hey Moksha! What I mean to say is that I logically don't understand how just sitting down and looking at reality as purely as possible can lead to a different state of consciousness. Say, am I meant to just sit there with the same emptiness for many months until one day I get a eureka moment out of nowhere? Because if I spend half an hour a day or an hour, it doesn't feel like anything is actually being revealed to me. I don't have a single reference as to how it feels to awaken in the slightest, so the more I do the practice, the more sceptical I feel about it. Maybe I don't believe it is really possible deep down and that stops me. Don't know if that makes sense? When I do other things, my concept of progress is very different. For instance, when I learned to swim, even though I wasn't fully confident in swimming myself, I still knew I was improving. Whereas, in these practices, I feel like after dozens of hours so far, it just feels the same as when I started, just silence and staring into space.
