I watched her interview Eckhart Tolle once and she seemed mostly clueless to what Tolle was talking about. Strange, since her support for his books was a big part of how he got so popular, you'd think it would have at least resonated with her on some level beyond the shallow mainstream new age mentality, but nah. But also not too surprising, since her show is aimed at mostly middle-aged normie moms.

I had a drinking problem for a couple years and that shit did NOT make me feel good. It exacerbated all my personal issues and made me hate myself. Stopped drinking for a few years, and now I can't stomach more than 1-2 drinks on rare occasions. My hangovers last longer than the buzz and if i'm not in a social environment it makes me ruminate negatively about my life. I also noticed since I began to do spiritual work that I really notice how much alcohol affects my judgement, and I really don't like how out of control it makes me feel.

I think you should take them as frequently as you can manage, at doses that you can handle, while also minding your tolerance and taking the time to integrate. How long that is will vary from person to person and between different psychedelics.

The experience of being the opposite gender (or any other variation of the spectrum that isn't your default) would surely be a worthwhile thing for people to experience. Understanding the perspective of the opposite gender would be a fantastic tool for improving relationships between men and women.

Quit Facebook. It's not important. Spamming people's FB feeds just makes you annoying. It wouldn't even matter what the articles were about I'd probably unfriend somebody who was constantly spamming my feed with posts too. Alternatively, limit yourself. select only ONE article a week that is the most important thing to share. (but really, if you've got this much of an issue with it, you should quit)

Got my 2nd moderna a few days ago. Def has some side effects this time. Sore arm like the 1st time, but also cold sweats and chills at night which wasn't fun. Though seems to have all gone away now. OK I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets this. Wasnt sure if I was imagining this sensation or not. it kinda reminded me a bit of the sensation of drinking and feeling the liquid flowing into your stomach, but less pleasant and significantly more weird.

The guy was a huge asshole and loved to troll and piss people off. He probably had a ton of powerful enemies so I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he was "Epstein'ed". Unlikely we'll ever know for sure. He basically lived the life of a supervillain, which I kinda find fascinating.

Obtained a DMT vape pen. I know they have a reputation of not being as good as smoking the pure substance extracted yourself (obviously). But that's something I'm OK with for now. The convenience the pen provides is appealing for someone new to the substance. I don't really know when I'm going to try it out yet, but I will start with smaller doses anyway. So even if this pen isn't the best, that will be OK since I'll likely only be dipping my toes in the kiddie pool at first anyway. If it turns out that DMT is something that I want to continue using and I find it difficult to go as deep with the pen as I want, then I'll invest in other consumption methods in the future.

Got my 1st shot of moderna a few days ago. no side effects except for a very sore arm. In Canada they quoted 13 weeks before we can get the 2nd shot... VERY different than in the US where 3-4 weeks seems to be the norm. Bit annoyed about that.

Oh I have, a lot. It was many years ago when I was going through this phase. And it was definitely the mythic Christian view of God that I was raised with that I was reacting to. I had no conception at the time that God could even be thought about in any other way. Suffice to say my views have grown substantially since then!

Actually I'd claim that the only good Star Wars movies are the original trilogy. Everything that's come after is varying levels of bad, prequels and sequels alike. But I nonetheless prefer the prequels to the sequels because they are far more unique. There is nothing else like those movies. Nobody else but George Lucas could have made them. People will still remember them decades from now. Every scene is a meme for good reason. They are deeply weird and fascinating. The Disney sequels are assembly-line crowd-pleasers that couldn't be arsed to even try to tell a coherent story over the trilogy. Each subsequent Disney film was an increasing reaction of "oh Disney really doesn't give a shit do they? so why should I?" I'd take a fascinating mess over generic pabulum any day.

I can definitely relate to this. For many years I would say that obviously God wasn't real and that religions were BS, yet I nonetheless was still terrified of the possibility that I was wrong and would go to hell or whatever. To nobodies surprise that contradictory mindset made me absolutely miserable!

On the occasions I smoked during the peak it made the experience very hedonistic and I couldn't really do anything except roll around on the ground in pleasure and would lose memory of portions of the trip. If you smoke when you're coming down it can bring the trip back and extend things for a few more hours.

I'm on the MAPS Canada mailing list and Mark Haden recently sent out a letter distancing himself from Ball which is how I found out about this in the first place. Apparently they're removing Ball from the MAPS guide as a consequence of this Psymposia exposé.

Usually I'm pretty familiar with most of the nominees, but covid really did a number on both the film industry and on the attention I gave movies last year (which without any theaters to go to, dwindled to almost nothing). So this might be the most underwhelming set of nominations I've ever seen. Curious to see how it shakes out I suppose. Awards shows are mostly dumb but I've gotten a kick out of watching the Oscars with friends in past years. But that's pretty unlikely this time around.
