  1. Surprisingly even the Spiral Dynamics model got weaponized and some are starting to use the same "rats/cockroaches" example, but change the wording to "red stage" and then continue with the same dehumanization and supremacy rhetoric to justify the violence and apartheid.
  2. https://www.salon.com/2024/01/05/cnn-admits-it-runs-all-gaza-coverage-through-bureau-monitored-by-israeli-military-censor_partner/ CNN admits it runs all Gaza coverage through bureau monitored by Israeli military censor
  3. Good post. I think it's also worth noting that this conflict is unique because the damage has always been largely inflicted on the civilian population, more than the ruling party. It's not just a matter of a stronger military conquering another piece of land to rule, like the British or Ottoman rule, so the the Palestinians should just accept it and let go as some people say. It's different because it has directly impacted the life of every Palestinian whether through experiencing displacement, loss of home and land, murder, injury, imprisonment and the constant threat of culture and identity erasure. That's why it's not a simple task to convince Palestinians to stop resisting. To them it's personal and expecting them to become Buddha-like and let it go is just unrealistic. I think this also adds another dimension to why peace deals have been unpopular as they failed to directly compensate the civilian population whether through the right of return or offering reparations.
  4. I've just seen it now, thank you for sharing the link.
  5. According to the article I shared, it look like he does support it and he seems to have finally reach a conclusion that this looks like an actual case of genocide, but of course as everyone else he doubts the impact of the trial on countries like USA or Israel or if a fair trial would even be allowed.
  6. https://mearsheimer.substack.com/p/genocide-in-gaza Recent post by John Mearsheimer: "For the record, I believed Israel was guilty of serious war crimes--but not genocide—during the first two months of the war, even though there was growing evidence of what Bartov has called “genocidal intent” on the part of Israeli leaders.5 But it became clear to me after the 24-30 November 2023 truce ended and Israel went back on the offensive, that Israeli leaders were in fact seeking to physically destroy a substantial portion of Gaza’s Palestinian population." 'seeking to physically destroy a substantial portion of Gaza’s Palestinian population' which clearly fits the Geneva convention definition of Genocide.
  7. https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-in-talks-with-congo-and-other-countries-on-gaza-voluntary-migration-plan/ "Israel in talks with Congo and other countries on Gaza ‘voluntary migration’ plan" Yeah it seems they are seriously thinking of sending Palestinians to Congo, it's the first country that seems willing to take them in. Honestly, nothing comes out of most Israeli officials surprises me anymore, the only surprising thing is the people who didn't see that coming from day 1.
  8. I feel like any conversations or debates about the validity of this 'war' is just completely worthless at this point. We have witnessed a sufficient amount of barbarism and ill intent from the Israeli gov that no justification or explanation will be acceptable. The only conversation worth having should be about empowering Israelis who reject military service, ask for a ceasfire and demand Netanyahu to step down. These are the only people who have the power to change the situation. There is no hope in western governments, it's only the people inside Israel who can change the scenario, but unfortunately they are a very small minority.
  9. What's heartwarming about censorship, discrimination, cancel culture and anti-Palestinianism?
  10. Well said. Trying to gaslight that suffering and struggling by pointing fingers at said framework will take us nowhere. Without addressing the root cause the problem will only become bigger.
  11. Sam Harris's faulty biased narrative is infecting a lot. They genuinely believes an ideology has the power to make 2.3 million people in Gaza or (2 billion Muslim in the world) to be gleefully waiting for Martyrdom and willing to commit suicide bombing any day. Let's dismiss basic psychology and the cries and calls for help by the Gazans to save their lives and believe Sam Harris instead.
  12. The most 'moral' army for sure, up there competing with ISIS-level barbarism. @Danioover9000 Your opinions and insights have always been worthy of reading so will be waiting for them
  13. IDF bulldozed displaced wounded civilians... it's becoming more horrifying and gruesome day by day in front of the whole world eyes.
  14. It's different for a lot of reasons. For example it's one thing to share one's artwork with other fellow artists ( in which as a result might help some get inspired and make a living off art) , and it's a completely different thing to have one's artwork get fed into A.I (which would mostly end up benefiting corporates seeking to cut off jobs for extra profit). A.I art is not pro-artist community. that's the point. A.I art in itself might be a relative thing but the consequences in reality are negative for artists. 1. Scribing in itself is not a creative job. Automating technical jobs is not the same as automating creative jobs. 2. Horses are happy humans made cars. Artists are unhappy with A.I art.
  15. An exclusive ethno-state democracy built on top of ethnic cleansing and massacres is not worthy of respect and will always be targeted as long as they don't deal with the devastation they caused. That's like a murderous thief who starts a democratic family in a stolen house. Him being democratic with his family members doesn't change the fact that he is a murderous thief. That's why this thief will spend the rest of his life trying so hard to protect his house, knowingly it wasn't legitimate to begin with. That serial killer waiting outside his house to target him & his family didn't exist out vacuum, he is result of his long standing wrongdoings. Getting rid of one serial killer might ensure brief moments of peace but definitely not a lasting one. His house will always be a target, even if not militarily but surely of resentment and hate. Put that same logic to Palestinians, who have been suffering for all those years + the audacious Zionist expansionist ambitions by the likes of Ben Gurion the first Israeli prime minister, like what do you expect to hear? I really don't understand. Yes, nothing strange or complicated here, this is the expected dynamic between any oppressor and oppressed. His survival depends on confining the oppressed.
  16. In my opinion, in its current form it's unethical as long as it uses artists work with no permission or compensation. It might have some positive aspects like convenience and time-saving qualities but overall, I think the negatives are much more profound.
  17. 100%. It might be cool yes but it lacks soul and promises a dark future for aspiring artists. I understand A.I art supporters will say things it's the future and we have to accept it but not all progress is positive.
  18. Wow. It's the first time for me to read this passage and know Ben Gurion said that himself ..! Why were Arabs blamed then for rejecting Israel's creation from the start when the Zionist non-stop expansionist ambitions had been clear from day 1 ?
  19. Making moral comparisons has nothing to do with support. The whole point of this conversation is show that what's currently happening in Gaza is completely unjustifiable on all levels no matter how harmful Hamas is, 99% of the destruction inflicted now is largely on civilians, Getting rid of Hamas without getting rid of the Israeli right wing gov means the end of the Palestinian cause as they are getting ethnically cleansed at the moment. It's about placing pressure on the side that actually has the power to change the situation, which is Israel not Hamas.
  20. Under which criteria are you measuring devilry? Is it actions or intent? Both are guilty of terrorism but one side's damage is 10X more than the other. As for the intent, one was initially motivated by superiority, separateness, exploitation as well as protection, while the other main motivation has always been resistance and refusal to submit. One side started this whole circle of violence and the other is a creation of and reaction to that violence. Ahmed Yassin, the politician and Imam who founded Hamas said in his own words: " We don’t hate Jews and fight Jews because they are Jewish. They are a people of faith and we are a people of faith, and we love all people of faith. If my brother, from my own mother and father and my own faith takes my homes and expels me from it, I will fight him. I will fight my cousin if he takes my home and expels me from it. So when a Jew takes my home and expels me from it, I will fight him. I don’t fight other countries because I want to be at peace with them, I love all people and wish peace for them, even the Jews. The Jews lived with us all of our lives and we never assaulted them, and they held high positions in government and ministries. But if they take my home and make me a refugee like 4 million Palestinians in exile? Who has more right to this land? The Russian immigrant who left this land 2000 years ago or the one who left 40 years ago? We don’t hate the Jews, we only ask for them to give us our rights.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Yassin# As for his justification for killing civilians he said it was in retaliation "Israel is targeting Palestinian civilians, so Israeli civilians should be targeted" . Of course I don't agree with this because there is zero justification for killing any civilian, but his statement just shows the initial intent for Hamas has always been resistance. What about Netanyahu though? he said it himself using words and showed by his actions that he has been actively killing all hopes for a Palestinian state, how is this different from aspiring to destroy Israel? Actually even in this case, Israel is more evil because it's doing it in action while the other side is just uttering about it with no real power, possibility or action. Also saying it's a battle between two devils here is very inaccurate. In reality, it's a battle between IDF and Palestinian civilians in hope for them to reach a final point and make them turn over Hamas.
  21. https://theintercept.com/2023/12/03/netanyahu-thin-gaza-population/#:~:text=Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the late Republican billionaire Sheldon "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has tasked his top adviser, Ron Dermer, the minister of strategic affairs, with designing plans to “thin” the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip “to a minimum,” according to a bombshell new report in an Israeli newspaper founded by the late Republican billionaire Sheldon" If that's the case can you please explain why Netanyahu seem to think otherwise? Also, why is Israel preventing aid and food into Gaza?
  22. I understand most Israelis are not really planning for a greater Israel, but one thing the Israeli state has proven over time is that they use land grab as a method of "self-defense", which means if for any reason in the future Egypt, Iraq, Syria or Lebanon thought of attacking Israel, they will definitely find an excuse to expand to 'Greater Israel'. Notice when some Israelis talk about Egyptian Sinai, they would say something like "we gave up Sinai for peace", as if it was theirs to begin with! Yup that what happens when someone starts a circle of violence, it keeps dragging them into more and more 'unwanted' violence under the inevitable need for 'self-defense'. In response to your mention of the Canadian journalist video, does that mean you no longer support the 2 state solution? because my understanding was that you found settlements to be "problematic".
