  1. ????????????????????????????
  2. @thisintegrated Lol, you just don't like music.????
  3. @thisintegrated You like those dance stimulations for the same reason you love anime, am I wrong?
  4. Emotion stimulates me. The overly-treble "ah, ah, ah, huh, huh, huh," of the first video didn't really get me. But I understand the aesthetic. But it's just underdeveloped and anemic, like music turning into a digital hollowed-out skeleton.
  5. Something like this, is stimulating and meaningful simultaneously. They are not exclusive at all, so there's no reason to value stimulation over meaning. Even though the vocals are shoddy since he's vaguely imitating someone, it is both, if you're acute enough to discern the meaning; though it's very abstract.
  6. I meant music that only exists based on the pleasure principle with no actual merit meaningfully is for the most part pretty bad, with exceptions. I just implied you had a narrow definition: "Music is when da musics make cool noises and melodies such vast euphoria comes reaching in."
  7. Just like a human and God are not the same thing . . . ? Hedonism. You're in a minority, if you claim music has no emotional function. That's entirely the point it for which it exists, whether or not that emotional function is purely pleasurable or brings in an element of negative emotions into it.
  8. @thisintegrated Maybe you've listened to a small amount of music. Maybe you've listened to a large amount of one type of music. I don't know. But something isn't working right.
  9. No. Euphoria / hatred / rage / sadness / happy melancholia / obsessive insanity / divine exultation / subtleties / lovingness / nostalgia / generalized pain / ecstasy and orgasmic merging with reality / desperation / despair / hope / bitterness / laughter / cognizance and understanding / unity / assertion / yes, even, just enjoyment. If you don't understand this clearly there is something messed up in your brain, as if there's an important piece of reality you've never learned before, never cared to learn before.
  10. That's like someone from academia claiming to be an authority on the intellect, intelligence, truth, when they are not. This is your "Ni/Te" showing through. If music is unemotional for you, that is saddening and autistic, and you completely miss the point of it.
  11. You mean, your auditory agnosia that can't process words . . . and connect them. Seems like you don't have a very deep connection to music. Therefore you aren't qualified to speak on this topic.
  12. Music is not good for the sake of just emotions and melodies; music is good for what it means, which is inextricably connected to . . . THE MEANING OF THE SONG, THE MEANING OF THE ALBUM, THE MEANING OF THE HUMAN BEINGS, THE MEANING OF HUMAN HISTORY, ETC. Most lyrics don't count as poetry.
  13. Te = actually understands and cares about the meaning of the song, the macro- and micro-contexts of every sound's place in history as a whole, the lives past and present and future of the makers of the song, the concepts of the lyrics, the cognized beauty of the lyrics, the intention of the lyrics and the spiritualities and emotionality and lessons, of course with the added atmospheric sublimity of the sounds. Ne = ah, pretty sounds cool, neat harmonies.
  14. I'll write something for you tomorrow.
  15. In spiritual circles it's defined as something to attack because it's easier to tear down something than to actually create something. In psychology It just means the centralized part of your mind that directs things, causing functions and dysfunctions alike. As for the picture, humans dominating animals very well could be egoic, but all parts of the environment being equal to humans, while "deep ecological," isn't exactly reality.
  16. Lyrics that are actually meaningful and have something to say, some information to give, some story to tell, some world to imagine, some access to truth, some access to the overarching story of all of history, etc.
  17. Lol, maybe you should be listening to music with good lyrics as opposed to rubbish. Also, sounds risk being too meaningless without proper linguistic context.
  18. @RMQualtrough I know the Emptiness and dissociating from the images, and yet still the images are the Emptiness. It's just simply true.
  19. This exact argument of the screen vs. the words was resolved here as Emptiness vs. form or Absolute vs. relative or Spaceless Timelessness vs. space and time.
  20. Existential psychology (in the form of Existential Phenomenological Therapy) would speak of an embodied self, which is when the somatic organism is identified with as part of the subject and not just an external phenomenon observed by a subject.
  21. Do you want him to feed you information with a spoon? The answer is, no. Quieting your thoughts is not enough. Meditative states often are abstract.
