Well I ask you the same question. Why did human beings develop language and concepts and started labeling stuff? Isn't it to label what's already existent? If nothing exists outside of our concepts why did we make up those concepts in the first place? . Who made these concepts? The mind? Does that mean the mind was there even before the concept of "mind" was there? -

Two aspects of what defines "physical". So yes! -

Here is the whole confusion. The cup doesn't exist as awareness. What does that even mean? . The cup exists as a cup! And you then come and become aware of it in a limited way. When your awareness fades it remains (the cup) untouched. Look at the cup and touch it with your hands. Now close your eyes but keep your hands on it. Just because your visual awareness of the cup disappeared doesn't mean the cup itself disappeared as you can still feel it with your hands. It's just your awareness of sight disappeared not the cup itself. -

There will be no cup in your awareness. That's true. But you can't say there will be no cup for someone else because you don't know that. -

You are getting lost in thoughts IMO (that's what Maya is btw). I think you have to distinguish between thoughts and concepts and what these thoughts and concepts are pointing to. We didn't make up the concept "physical " out of thin air for no reason. You don't find anything called "physical" in the world. You don't find the concept but you definitely find what is meant by that concept. -

That's really weak and confused metaphysics. I can easily say "the cup will be there but you won't see it". It's existence doesn't have to be approved by your awareness. The mistake is you are assuming awareness and existence are equal. -

You are not thinking the cup into existence. That's the difference between thoughts and physical objects. Physical objects are existing regardless of your thoughts. -

You imagined me doing that. Just stop imagining me and I will stop doing it. -

No we aren't. If it's all your subjective world why are you trying to convince me? I don't even exist from your pov. And now you will reverse it ofcourse and say that you don't exist and it's all me. Just to see how ridiculous this whole thing is. -

We can play the "what if "game all you want. The fact of the matter is it doesn't appear as what you describe here. Just sit alone in a room and close your eyes and pretend that" this is all that there is and everything else is my imagination " and notice how sights and sounds and events from the outside world will attack you with no choice from you. That can't happen if what you are saying is true. Sit down and actually try it! -

You tend to assume that's the case because it appears that this is the case. You are forced to assume that. That's the only way for you to function in reality at all. For you to even ask me this question and consider my answer you have to first assume that I'm a real person who exists independently from your awareness (otherwise what's the point of asking me?!). Objective reality is not a choice it's forced upon you. -
Someone here replied to ivankiss's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Absolutely no. There is seemingly infinite events that exist and happen right this second in this universe and you have no consciousness of them. -

I won't argue against objective reality because there is nothing to argue against it. You made the distinction between the internal and the external. The external is objective reality. You can't be sure if it exists outside of you perceiving it and at the same time you can't deny it's apparent independent existence. So it would be wise of you to just accept that's it's here and it's independent of your wishes. -
OK this is going nowhere! Peacing out.

Just lol. I'm not the phone. I just got rid of my phone completely and put it on another room for a few moments. I still exist the same. I don't feel like part of "me" is lacking now. The phone was here and I was here. The phone goes there but I'm still here. I'm actually shocked that we are arguing about such obvious issues.

For me personally.. Could be any of them. Solipsism can't be proved or disproved. Just as I can't prove your independence existence from me I can't disprove it either. This is so important to understand. And then I choose to assume that you are a real person with awareness just like me because that's what it appears to be anyways!
-
No sorry. It's not only me. I'm holding the phone right now and it's not me.

I use occam's razor. We can get lost in speculation forever. This human mind is miracle in how intelligent it is. You can present such ideas all over the place. I might be dreaming right now. We might be a video game that some bored teenager is playing in his holiday. I might not be the same person every day and there is simulators injecting my brain with new memories every night to make me believe I'm the same person. The god of the bible might true. We might be a dream inside the head of an ant. All that is possible. If you don't present enough evidence there is no reason for me to accept any of that. And therefore I will just hold on to what I already know about reality rather than getting lost in what can't be ever known even in theory.
