  1. I just raised my hand now. If for this action to happen it requires an infinite regress of causes behind it it won't ever happen because these causes will just keep going forever (backwards) and I won't ever raise my hand. Yet here I am raising it!
  2. They are connected. To communicate the results of my experiment to you I have to use thoughts. As long as I'm not thinking I can't say "I'm seeing".. It just is what it is. But thought comes on and label it "seeing" to distinguish it from other sense perceptions. And to be honest I can't see the link between that and the human and apple having the same substance anyways! If you could guide me through it would be appreciated.
  3. Doesn't that means it's meaningless to talk about lesser lengths within the physical domain? . It's the same as the physical limitations and constants in the singularity of the big bang.. Science just can't to beyond or before that. The fact is we don't know what lies beyond theses various constants and limitations. We shouldn't then just jump into uncertain conclusions like "reality is infinite regress" keeping in mind that it is logically impossible as well.
  4. I'm not trying to get a "click ". I know this forum is filled with highly intelligent and open minded people and that's why I'm asking my questions here. Logic and intellectual activity does have a limit but I don't think we've hit any dead end yet. You are not forced to answer my questions or to agree with me. We are just sharing some thoughts together
  5. As far as I know from my basic understanding of physics there is a limit to how small thing are. It's called Planck's constant and it equals 1.616252×10⁻³⁵ meter. There is no thing in the observable universe smaller than this. That's what physics say. Also infinite regression is logically impossible. If reality is an infinite regress in any dimension we wouldn't be here.
  6. There is a subject of experience. It can't be pointed at because it is itself doing the pointing. As for your question I don't think I understand it well. Sorry!
  7. Just complete reading my post and you will see I mentioned just that and answered it.
  8. Intersting example but I don't think it fits well with our subject. The ice and water are literally the same substance with different temperature. A human being and an apple are not the same substance.. Now you might say if you go really really deep they both came from basically the same stuff (stardust or whatever) that's true but the end result is they are totally different now. They are two distinct objects with radically different properties. They are not the same by any means!
  9. I didn't say they completly figured it out. But for now all evidence point that it's linked to the brain. You can scan the brain activity of a sleeping person.. Dead person.. And normally aware person and see the link between their awareness and their brain activity. What you call the observer is simply the center of experience. The center of vision is a physical part in the brain.. Pick with it and there will be no observer (center of vision) but ofcourse there will be center of hearing and sensations in the body.. Keep getting rid of these centers in the brain and "you" are gone! Just like in deep sleep. There is no evidence whatsoever suggesting anything else but the physical organs to be responsible for awareness and experience.
  10. The observer is certain centers in the brain according to science. Fu** with these centers and say goodbye to the observer.
  11. A dream is real so long as you are inside of it. And also when you wake up it was real because you lived it. Who said dreams aren't real? They are 100% real.. You Live it! It's just not what you think it is at the moment you live it . Same could be applied to this reality. It might be not what we think it is but in no sense whatsoever can it be "unreal." The observer is clearly distinct from the observed. They are separate. They are not totally isolated. You are immersed within the world yet the boundaries between you and the world are still valid and real and you can dream m it being otherwise but it's just not gonna work. As for the last question.. That's actually my question in this thread.. From common sense perspective these waves are real even if you don't perceive them. But Leo had another opinion that I can't make sense of.
  12. 1 I think I just defined it in the previous post. "undeniably present in my direct experience". Pick an apple and put in front of your face.. Call it "real" and here it is.. Call it" unreal " and here it is also! That's what real is. 2 there are many types of proofs depending on the nature of the subject that we are trying to prove. There is mathematical proofs and logical proofs. There is experiential proofs through the senses and scientific proofs and historical proofs (if there is other kinds of proofs let me know). I'm looking for any one of these proofs about the statement "the world is my imagination".
  13. Well science is not totally clueless about what consciousness is . If you ask a scientist they will tell you it's generated by the brain. There is centers for visions and centers for sight etc. If you play with certain neurons you will affect your perception significantly. If your blood sugar gets too low notice how significantly affected your consciousness will become to the point you might lose it completely and fall on the ground. This isn't conclusive and the studies are still being done. It's, a fascinating subject but I won't jump into mystical conclusions just because the phenomenon is in some ways beyond my understanding. That would be similar to the primitive people in the old ages when they couldn't explain stuff and they just thought "well God did it!"
  14. It's actually very very simple. I don't actually know whether You and Leo and everything else and the whole universe is real or imaginary in the sense it could be just like a dream or a simulation.. I admit that and I remain sceptical about that but they are real in the sense that they are undeniably present in my direct experience and calling it " nothing" or "imaginary" or "unreal" won't change that fact in the tiniest bit! We have to distinguish between these two perspectives. Now someone comes to me (like Leo through his videos) and says regarding the first perspective that the world is actually my imagination and I'm imagining him and everything else.. Well that's interesting I'm looking for the proof of that or otherwise I won't believe it. So far Leo's proof is just "I took a psychedelic and I hallucinated a very deep trip".. Now seriously?
  15. Part of the difference between science and spirituality (and really any other field of human knowledge) is that science has very clear definitions for terms. When a scientist says "oxygen atom" he means a very Clear and specific thing that all scientists agree upon. In spirituality there is no clear definition of what "awakening" is and various schools might disagree on what does it mean to be Awaken and what are the tools necessary for that. Could you elaborate on that one please.
  16. I won't say I'm stuck in the materalist paradigm. I'm open to exploring any paradigm. As I said I'm interested in finding truth whatever it be. If I get convinced of something I'm going to admit it. But I can't take somebody's word for it.. I use logic and common sense to evaluate information. To be honest o don't believe there is such thing as awakening at all. Spirituality might be a psychological need for human beings and that's why the made religions and mysticism. I might be wrong. I'm discovering. The journey just began!
  17. That's true inside the dream. What makes you so sure this world is a dream? What is your evidence of that? I haven't seen such a consistent and long dream before!
  18. Solipsism can't be proved or disproved. I remain sceptical about it. But notice how weak weak your argument is? Just because I can't actually be sure if something exists outside of my perception doesn't mean it doesn't exist.. I gave the poisoned honey example already! Everything and every person Including Leo and you are inside my awareness but how do you jump into saying I'm imagining them? I'm not imagining anything. The external world is forced upon my senses and it's out of my control for the most part. Are "YOU" my imagination? Am I talking to a real person with awareness now? I just stopped "imagining you" right now. Did you just disappear?
  19. Is this your direct experience of life or is it just a belief that you hold? Because I seem to live in a totally different reality than what you are describing here!
  20. I think this is not the main question here tho it's interesting to think about the illusion of the self and all that. But my main question here is whether there is stuff behind the scenes (hydrogen and oxygen atoms etc) that make up the body or not. Because they are not in direct experience.. Is is there more to reality than just direct experience (appearances)?
