  1. We can play the "what if "game all you want. The fact of the matter is it doesn't appear as what you describe here. Just sit alone in a room and close your eyes and pretend that" this is all that there is and everything else is my imagination " and notice how sights and sounds and events from the outside world will attack you with no choice from you. That can't happen if what you are saying is true. Sit down and actually try it!
  2. You tend to assume that's the case because it appears that this is the case. You are forced to assume that. That's the only way for you to function in reality at all. For you to even ask me this question and consider my answer you have to first assume that I'm a real person who exists independently from your awareness (otherwise what's the point of asking me?!). Objective reality is not a choice it's forced upon you.
  3. Absolutely no. There is seemingly infinite events that exist and happen right this second in this universe and you have no consciousness of them.
  4. I won't argue against objective reality because there is nothing to argue against it. You made the distinction between the internal and the external. The external is objective reality. You can't be sure if it exists outside of you perceiving it and at the same time you can't deny it's apparent independent existence. So it would be wise of you to just accept that's it's here and it's independent of your wishes.
  5. OK this is going nowhere! Peacing out.
  6. Just lol. I'm not the phone. I just got rid of my phone completely and put it on another room for a few moments. I still exist the same. I don't feel like part of "me" is lacking now. The phone was here and I was here. The phone goes there but I'm still here. I'm actually shocked that we are arguing about such obvious issues.
  7. For me personally.. Could be any of them. Solipsism can't be proved or disproved. Just as I can't prove your independence existence from me I can't disprove it either. This is so important to understand. And then I choose to assume that you are a real person with awareness just like me because that's what it appears to be anyways!
  8. No sorry. It's not only me. I'm holding the phone right now and it's not me.
  9. I use occam's razor. We can get lost in speculation forever. This human mind is miracle in how intelligent it is. You can present such ideas all over the place. I might be dreaming right now. We might be a video game that some bored teenager is playing in his holiday. I might not be the same person every day and there is simulators injecting my brain with new memories every night to make me believe I'm the same person. The god of the bible might true. We might be a dream inside the head of an ant. All that is possible. If you don't present enough evidence there is no reason for me to accept any of that. And therefore I will just hold on to what I already know about reality rather than getting lost in what can't be ever known even in theory.
  10. Good. Let's just agree on that definition. So you are saying the world is an appearance without substance.. that is to say there is nothing behind it. No one causing it. No reason for its existence at all. Not even a dreamer who is dreaming it up.. It's impossible for it to exist yet here it is! That's basically what you are saying. Well I simply disagree for obvious reasons. But if that convinced you fine. Go for it!
  11. What imaginary are you talking about for sanity sake? Here is the world around you! What more evidence do you need to know it's real! ? " oh but it might be a dream".. Who said a dream isn't real? It's real (as you live it) and there is a mechanism behind it (doesn't matter which perspective you look at it). I think we need to define the terms "real".. "imaginary".. "hallucination" if we wish to go somewhere from this conversation. You can keep calling everything an imaginary hallucination all you want or call it real but it's gonna remain the same exactly as it is not caring about your perspectives.
  12. How do you know? It appears the exact opposite of that.!
  13. No problem but "how do you know"? What is your evidence? " I took a psychedelic and I saw mind blowing hallucinations"...fine what is the link between that and your conclusion that everything is a hallucination? I just can't see the link at all. I'm talking the common sense perspective that all human beings intuitively know. You are presenting something new and radical with no evidence whatsoever!
  14. Sorry leo you didn't address my question at all. Why is materialism a hallucination? Why is the material world (or whatever you wanna call it) a hallucination? Just because you took a powerful hallcucinating drug and saw how is the brain capable of hallucinating stuff (we already know that because we dream every night)?. And don't tell me the psychedelic and the brain are hallucination because that would be perfect circular reasoning right there!.
  15. The explanation is there through how is the chemical affects the brain. Who needs psychedelics? We dream every day and create a whole universe using our imagination that's enough. The explanation for such phenomenon is related to brain activity. I don't see them as conclusively debunking the material paradigm. What after the drug wears off? You are back to the material paradigm!. Just the fact that you have to take a, specific chemical to experience such states should tell you something.
  16. Can anyone explain to me why a hallucination from a psychedelic drug can he taken as evidence against the materialism?
  17. You have a two hour's episode about openmindedness btw.
  18. No they appear as they are seeing stuff when there is actually nothing around them (except from their POV).
