It's a contradiction to say I was or I am unconscious at some point of time. "Unconsciousness" is similar to "non-existence". It's not a "state". It's a "no state". I only live and realize the conscious states and I make up the concept of unconsciousness by noticing the gaps in my consciousness (from the moment I go to sleep to when I wake up). I can only assume what happened during that time as I had no experience of what actually happened during it. -

Do I exist? It's just your imagination and projecting me and this conversation. You've glimpsed this before so why are you talking to me at all? Why are you talking to anyone? Why are you doing anything? Why don't just suicide and Awaken? . Becarful the rabbit hole can go so deep and it's not gonna be easy to climb your way out. Don't takes these as ideas and beliefs if you didn't actually verified them yet. -

I get the sense that you just hold these as ideas or theories about how reality works. Have you actually experienced this ego death? If so.. you must be realizing this is all a dream of yours and you wouldn't spend time trying to convince someone that doesn't even exist that he doesn't even exist! And like I said previously.. I can intuitively know what psychedelics can show me without actually trying them. My dreams are so vivid usually and I know "reality" can't be taken for granted. I don't want to repeat myself I think I made this point multiple times and no one gave me satisfying answers.. "no matter what psychedelics or luicd dreams show you.. How do you know that it should be applied to reality as a whole and say reality as a whole is a hallucination?". Hallucinations are possible within reality..how did we jump into saying reality as a whole is a hallucination?. Notice that reality as a whole can't be a hallucination because" hallucination" are a limited and relativistic notion. -

I just showed you an example that you don't necessarily have to exit a dream world completely in order to realize it's dream world. Have you ever become lucid in a dream before?. And btw I'm not close minded about awakening as a possibility. I don't take it as a belief or ideology either. It's just one possibility. One way of looking at reality and I'm open to that. To verify it requires a shitton of work( big part of it is intellectual) that you probably are not willing to do and just want everything to be simplistic and clear. -
Someone here replied to Rilles's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Not necessarily. I like to use the lucid dreaming analogy. You could Awaken and be fully aware that you are inside of a dream world that is constructed by your imaginative power while staying inside the dream that's when you become" lucid". You don't have to exit the dream altogether to have that realization. -

@Danioover9000 define "non-existence" please! -
Someone here replied to Red-White-Light's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Direct experience is truth by definition. I mean the fact of the experience happening to you is undeniable. However the conceptual context that you give to it could be truth or delusion (relative truth. Mental illness hallucinations dreams Waking state etc). -
Someone here replied to Red-White-Light's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Red-White-Light is this just a belief that you hold or did you actually sat down and discover this for yourself?. The world as it appears could be very much a fliterd and distorted version by your mind. A copy from the "real world". But I won't go too extreme to say the mind is literally creating the outside world as it's not evident in direct experience and in fact it contradicts direct experience. Go ahead and think a million dollars into existence and see how that works out and let me know. This isn't conclusive but it should make you suspicious at least. Think again! -

Sorry I'm not quite sure what you mean. Could you rephrase? -
Someone here replied to Danioover9000's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
IMO Not every concept the mind can think of and put into words have an equivalent or an actual representation in the world. Non-existence is a perfect example for that. Notice how it's impossible to give accurate definition for that term because it's self -contradictory. Any definition you give it is by definition not it. Think about numbers for example. Numbers like one and two and so on have an actual representation in the world (one orange or two oranges). But can you please show me a representation of the number zero? Can you show me zero orange?? . Let alone the negative numbers and the imaginary numbers. They have absolutely no actual existence except as abstract concepts. -
Someone here replied to WHO IS's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Reread my post please. Both possibilities are possible. I remain sceptical about it because I don't have any conclusive evidence at the moment for any of them (objectivism VS solipsism). -
Someone here replied to WHO IS's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You can't know for sure. You just assume that or the other. -
Is life a dream? And what evidence do we have for this claim?. What does it mean to say life is a dream? Does it mean there's someone in some other reality dreaming this universe up and when the dream ends I (you.. Us etc) will wake up in that reality just like what happens in our dreams inside this reality?. How does this relate to solipsism? Who is dreaming? I am dreaming you or you dreaming me? Or we both dreaming each other? . According to materialism dreams are hallucinations which happen due to neurological activities in the brain.. How is that possible? How can a dream world with a space of 100 kilometers be couched within a brain of 15 centimeters space??

Leo I seriously want to understand you but there's something not fitting in my mind with this whole thing. How can I become the coffee table? I can't no matter what I do! If there's a method teach me (I assure you that I'm not trolling I'm being serious and open minded). Does that imply I'm already not the coffee table? (that's why I have to become it first). It seems like there's a default identity (the human body mind) that is believed to be true.. If it's purely relative and imaginary and it can be switched easily why is it so consistent and appears to be fundamental and prior to one's beliefs of what they are?. How can I drop my human identity? Because thinking and imagining myself dropping it apparently doesn't work. -
Someone here replied to Dylan Page's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Don't ask me what you are because I don't even know what I am (specifically). -
Someone here replied to Dylan Page's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Let's say I started to believe that I'm my coffee table.. I'm not this body-mind but rather I'm that coffee table. Will I actually become the coffee table..? If someone comes tomorrow and just destroys the coffee table into pieces I won't feel that "I" am being destroyed. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'm not starting from the assumption that life is a dream and looking to verify it preconceived idea. I'm starting from the assumptions : 1- I don't know whether life is a dream or not. 2 - life can't be distinguished from dreams phenomenologically (I can't be sure whether I'm dreaming right now or not) 3- life might be a dream but I don't have conclusive evidence for that. A psychedelic trip or psychological hallucinations or dreams themselves (night-time dream) are not conclusive evidence that life as a whole is itself a Dream or a hallucination. -
