  1. In this waking state it does. In a dream reality I might drink alcohol and become even more alert and aware.. Who knows?
  2. I think your moral relativism can't fly in any society that respects itself . We don't have to be 100% certain that he murderd him intentionally. In fact.. Given the videos and the evidence we have it's not possible to do that. But anyone can easily see the cop could've easily avoided all that because Floyd was not resisting anyways. There is audios you can hear floyd saying " I can't breath. please just let me breath". And yet the motherfucker kept his knee on his neck until he died. You think you can suffocate someone s without paying attention of when he dies?? That's a cool story but even if it's true that's even worse because if you can kill people unintentionally like that with such stupidity you are not qualified to be a cop in the first place.
  3. Does correlation equal causality?.
  4. @Serotoninluv sorry but I will just let it go. Me and you are always repeating the same dialogue in every thread of mine. The same points from both me and you are being repeated . I promise you I'm well aware of everything you are saying but the thing is with that kinda attitude we can't have any discussion because it excludes any level under(what you think is under) the level that you think you are at. So I will just let it go. And I'm sorry if you perceived what I said as an accused you of lying. All I meant I can't be sure of that. I can tell you anything about myself but how are you supposed to know if I'm being honest?. Crediting oneself has no value here.
  5. I will stop you here. I'm not going at "war" with no one. That's your own projections and distorted views. Look closely.
  6. To me you are just taking stuff personally. I never said I'm a scientist. I'm a normal folk. I'm actually a philosophy student. I don't think I claimed science has authority over truth. I stated many times science has limits. Stop spreading misinformation about me and what I know and what I don't know and just get to my points. Being a science professor doesn't give you authority ironically you speak about authority and then you appeal to authority by saying you are a science professor. Who knows if you are a science professor or not? But regardless that doesn't give you authority. A thing is a true because it's true not because someone says it's true.
  7. What I mean by limited partial explanation is exactly that.. Limited partial explanation! . For instance we don't have ultimate explanation of where the hell did the universe come from and why but we do have a relatively correct map "the big bang" explaing how it came about. Regarding psychedelics.. They actually don't have a proper explanation yet because the lack of the studying on them. But for now they understand it just affect perception centers in the brain which makes you hallucinate all kinds of stuff. And that's all that there is to it. Again this a partial limited explanation like anything else.. You can keep pushing the question further and eventually will discover we don't actually have an explanation for anything. But we have to distinguish between the ultimate explanations and the relative ones.
  8. I'm well aware that it can't give ultimate explanation. But we do have limited partial explanations that's for sure. The examples are just countless you name it. But then again here we are drifting away from the original topic. This topic is specifically about explaining psychedelics scientifically.
  9. Sure. Anytime
  10. I meant mapping reality. Saying that science can't give accurate maps about reality ( not 100% accurate tho) is just false and I won't even argue about that. Now the map is NOT the territory but that's another topic for another day. I meant within the context of just mapping reality.
  11. Ofcourse I'm against copying others. That's definitely not my path. And I assume most people in this forum have enough IQ to not accept everything that "someone" says on blind faith without questioning it and testing it for themselves. So I hope you refrain from debating with that particular "someone" and trying to prove him wrong because I love ya bro and I want you here
  12. I want the truth is a duality. If "I" want the "truth".. "I" wouldn't ever get "it". We just agreed the "I" is a complete fabrication. Remove the "I" and the "want" and all that is left is pure truth. That's why I said be careful what you wish for. If you get the truth there won't be a "you" anymore. You have to choose between "you" and the truth.. Can't have them both.
  13. I agree. But I think there is no need to bash mystics. Everything in reality is perfectly inevitable. That's what awakening reveals to you. So there is no point bashing anyone or anything.
  14. Be careful what you wish for. I personally don't want that. I'm happy as a little ego. I'm just a drop in the ocean not the entire ocean in a drop. Both perspectives are true if you think about it. So it doesn't make a difference what you identify yourself as. As ramana maharishi puts it " I am that I am".
  15. Well I'm already well aware that there's no such thing as "me" in reality. "I" am not a solid entity or some fixed object. Not a physical sensation. Not thoughts. It's just a fabrication. In fact every time I refer to myself as "I" or "me" it's a new "me". It's a different thing. Nothing is static. Everything is constantly decaying and transforming. I'm well aware of that as glimpses here and there. But to function in life you are forced to assume soild entity called "you".
  16. @Jacobsrw I did. "fundamentally" you can't be wrong . @Galyna I meant it's too much for my ego or my sense of self. It has the potential to shatter my identity for ever. This is dangerous. It's one thing to theorize about it and to experience it is a very frightening experience. One exercise was about realizing the imaginary boundary between the subject and the object. That scared me a little bit.
  17. Yes. It's good but too much. I might end up not having a clue who am I anymore after I finish it. It's like deconstructing your entire identity.
  18. LOL yeah it looks good tbh. Was a good choice. P.S. Jacob can't be wrong. Just ignore him @@Jacobsrw
  19. @Jacobsrw be gentle with the lady bruh lol.
  20. Let's flip the script. All these cool matrix ideas that you have are imaginary and what you called Your "imaginary life" is absolute reality. It's as real as it gets. Check in your direct experience and see if that's true. There's no where to go anyways. Your question implies that there is some sort of an ultimate destination to reality..when in fact all that exists is a path without end. There's a reason the matrix exists in the first place. It must be boring as fuck to stay in nirvanic oneness for eternity.
  21. I can sense that. What confused me Leo says there is levels to awakening. I'm convinced that all of reality is itself awakening. So in that sense you could say there is endless levels to awakening that's true which is the same thing as saying there's zero levels to it and this is it lol.
  22. That's true. I'm struggling with obtaining psychedelics tho. But I think I will be able to obtain them sometime in the future.
