When you watch a movie in a TV screen and try to grab the characters in the movie with your hands ..what do you actually end up grabbing? The screen. The movie images are superimposed on the screen. The screen can display something..anything..or it can display nothing .can be turned on or off .that's consciousness or existence. Before you were born or when you are in deep sleep the screen is turned off..no movie. When you are in the waking state..the screen is turned on. So in both cases the screen exists. But in both cases the images of the movie are not necessarily there .so that means the screen is more fundamental and prior to the movie . And the screen is consciousness. Consciousness is prior to form. And form cannot exist without consciousness.

@r0ckyreed it is not up to you to trust direct experience..you have no other choice. When your mind goes skeptical of direct experience. ..and Why is direct experience the criteria for truth? Because based on direct experience one can only ever be certain of the content of his own experience. And cannot validate or invalidate the existence of a third person objective world behind the surface of appearance. Point one thing.. Just one fucking thing that exists outside of your direct experience right now.. You might say "well the pyramids in Egypt they exist there and they are not in my direct experience now".. No! There is no pyramids and no Egypt and no "there".. All that exists in actuality right this moment is whatever you are experiencing right now + the belief or ideas that there is something existing outside of that which is actually occurring (the belief) inside of that. Take out your hand and look at it.. And recognize that your hands are actual. They are Real. They are the absolute Truth. And recognize that all your concepts about Truth in your minds(thoughts) are not the Truth. Compare all your thoughts and concepts with the sensation of your hands.. Notice that your hands are Truth. While all your thoughts (without exception) are nonsense. TRUTH VS FALSEHOODS exist only on the level of thoughts.. Where there is relative truth. You could say some thoughts are more "true" then others depending on how accurate they represent reality. Absolute Truth is simply being. Nothing too fancy about it. And you are directly conscious of being right now. That's why in neo advaita they teach that you are already enlightened. there is a distinction between relative truth and relative falsehood which exists only in the mind. At the level of being.. There is no falsehood. Everything is absolute Truth. For example... 1+1=3 is falsehood at the relative level of meaning and symbols. Yet the very being of the equation (it's very existence) is absolute Truth.

Robert Adams uses the analogy of a TV screen and a movie . The TV screen is pure consciousness. It's pure indiscriminate spacious void . The movie is like the content of existence. Humans..cats..trees ..insects ..cars ..etc the screen can display ANYTHING. Horror movies ..comedy..porn movies etc anything..but it's not touched or affected by the content . Identify with the screen and you resolve all suffering because suffering is in the content. And you are the screen. Which doesn't move .unlike the images of the movie .

Leo ..let me on in something here ..in your solipsism video you said a hugh chunk of contradictions ..sometimes you say ."i am you " and the other one you said "i " the listener is the only conscious thing in reality. So which one is it? panpsychism "there is consciousness in all things and the same thing looking through my eyes is looking through your eyes ?)...or as in all that can be known is my mind..? Are you open that you can't know if others are real? Why do you insist that others are unreal? Why not be be humble and say i got no clue ?

You miss the point ...why should you give a fuck about solipsism in the first place ? Yeah sure you've heard Leo talking about it ad nauseam..so fucking what ? Yes so both solipsism and naive realism don't capture reality. Because the map is not the territory. Any "ism" is not the whole truth . Your absolute truth is literally different from my absolute truth even though they are both absolute!

Here's a thought experiment.. What would happen if you've never in your entire life even heard of solipsism? Would you still be puzzled by this existential dilemma? Nahm used to say "you can't experience what you are not focusing on ". The more you think about solipsism the more mindfucky it gets because you literally cannot prove 100% that there is a world behind the walls of your house . So again..just pretend that you've never even heard of solipsism and it won't bother you. Its the same thought experiment that people like Richard Dawkins do when they try to debunk religion and they say "if a child was born in a island and never heard of any religion..would he believe in any religion or any god "?

Why not my dude ? Do you seriously want to convince me that in your daily life you regard objects as unreal as soon as they disappear from your perception? Theifs will empty your wallet that way . There is no difference between illusory vs Real. As long as my mom appears real in front of my eyes ..then she is real . There is no difference between the Leo I say on my IPhone and the Leo I see in my dreams . That's what nonduality means .the collapsing of the duality between real vs illusory must break down at the end . Deep down I know that I'm the only one here . But it's just more beneficial pragmatically speaking to deal with others as real as long as they "appear " real. So solipsism is true ..but useless.

I agree that solipsism is true I know solipsism is true . What I'm claiming is that it is Leo who doesn't know whether solipsism is true . He is all over the place Sometimes "I am dreaming you guys " Sometimes "you guys are dreaming me ". "There is only you " BUT "people don't want to accept it "(which people exactly since solipsism claims there is only one subject in the entire universe).

But that makes solipsism relative to your state of consciousness and not an absolute? Because in the social domain as you put it or inside the dream solipsism is not true ..but if you kill yourself and exit the dream the whole world dies with you and now solipsism becomes true .. So solipsism is not an absolute. Which is something that you always miss the irony of like when you say Rupert Spira is not fully awake because he calls solipsism madness ..but he is inside the matrix just as me and you etc . So this renders your whole point obsolete.

@Leo Gura I really really believe that you are not fully 100% clear in your own mind about this topic . Losts of conceptualization and contradictions(like you say "you are the only conscious entity " then you oddly say "people are not ready for this degree of diving deep into investigation of truth " what "people "are you talking about ? That contradicts solipsism head on . Why don't you just simply say " I don't know yet ..I need deeper awakenings to really make up my mind about this topic once and for all " ?

When i think of insanity i think of the idea of being stuck inside a room with no doors.. Just four walls.. You stuck between four walls.. For eternity What about the idea of these four walls starting to get tighter and tighter untill they crush your body into pieces? But then you will die.. That might be a refuge.. How about the four walls getting so tight just enough to make you almost crushed.. But not fully yet.. Such that you can't move and will be stuck like that... Forever?
