Yes your mind can only imagine something you can already see in the real world.. Because mental images themselves are made of your visual memory. Btw if all the sudden you saw a new color that no one have ever seen before that would be identical to seeing a ghost.. It would be one of the most scary experiences you can have. So be careful what you wish for

@Tim R well the Buddha didn't speak of God or gods. In Buddhism they Beileve in the cycle of life and death. (samsara) According to your karma you keep reincarnating in new forms until you get your shit straight and learn how to be detached.. desirless and compassionate with all creation.. Then you break the cycle of life and death (which was just a dream caused by your fears and attachments) and attain nirvana which is simply to cease to exist. Forever.

The literal meaning of nirvana in sanskrit is "annihilation" or "cessation".

How can something that doesn't exist become this or that??. "I" is a thought.. Is a thought enlightened? (and enlightened is a thought as well)

The now is right in front of you.. Now You tell me where is your past and future"?? Well it's really not. Just go directly. There is no such thing. It's always NOW and there is nothing else. Where is the future or the past? Can you point to it? Can you grasp it with your hands? All the future (or past) really is.. Is just an idea that is happening in the NOW about something that is not happening in the NOW!!

Time is not three dimensional (past - present - future)..so there is no year that comes and year that goes. It's just one present moment with ever-changing content. Just like a static TV screen with constantly changing images (pixels).. The screen (present moment) never changes yet the content is constantly changing.

What is a question? What is anything? Any answer is gonna be thoughts about thoughts. Thoughts inside thoughts about the nature of thoughts. A thought is a thought and that's rock bottom. A rock is a rock and that's rock bottom. Meaning it is exactly what it appears to be to direct consciousness without any conceptual stories or "explanations". Now ofcourse you can get underneath that endlessly because that's the nature of things.. It expands forever in all directions.. But that doesn't make any place different from where you are at. It's all the same and it's all different at the same time!
