  1. A model or a theory could be flawed because it's conceptual in nature. Actual Truth cannot be flawed because it's not a concept to begin with.
  2. @Javfly33 is nonduality Truth? Is nonduality itself an experience? Or a belief? Or idea? What if nonduality is not the truth? What if everything you ever been told is a lie? Take responsibility for finding truth. How do you know what is true? Who told you? How can you trust anyone whatsoever including me right now?
  3. From what I understand.. nihilism rejects any sort of 'objective' meaning of life. So since there's nothing objectively meaningful to bind us together ideologically.. each individual should decide what his/her "purpose" is. Nothing is intrinsically good or bad because of some omnipotent moral authority. Meaning does exist. . For a person if he decides to create it. But no such meaning exists objectively out in the world.
  4. @tatsumaru @IAmReallyImportant Most people are nihilists but they don't realize it. Nihilism is ontological - it is about rejecting what is and affirming what is not. Most people do this on a daily basis because recognizing what is is hard to do.. hard to accept.. And most importantly hard on the ego. How many people do you know are intellectual lazy and personally vain? That's how many nihilists you know.
  5. It's right and wrong. technically there is no "real" meaning in life or existence.. but the fact that it happens at all provides meaning in itself. The most easiest and basic example would be humanity. There was no reason for our existence (none that we can prove.. at least) and yet here we are. And the fact that we are here provides us some sort of foundation with which to reason the meaning of our existence. if you follow what I'm sayin. Creating meaning is inevitable yet there is no 'objective' meaning. I mean simply because meaning is something your mind is creating and projects into the world (so is purpose and value).
  6. Nihilism isn't quite wrong in that there is no real meaning to anything of itself.. but why should that change anything? Giving things meanings is kind of what we do as humans. Really it's all kind of relative to our existence.. in terms of who we are with.. where we are.. and how long we'll be here. You often sense meaning in something in that it means something to someone or something that has meaning to you. Nothing has meaning of itself.. but in existence there is meaning. There is no cosmic thing of meaning.. it just is.. but in being there is meaning. We're all in life together so there's kind of meaning in everything. Like this answer.. it doesn't mean much to anyone of itself but it does in that someone may or may not be reading it. That doesn't matter.. it doesn't mean anything.. but it also kind of does. This probably only makes sense to me.. but that doesn't really mean anything right?
  7. I think.. personally that the feeling of Nihilism and Existentialism is strongly distinct from the philosophical ideas they raise. Nihilism itself.. by definition states that certain knowledge.. or aspects of reality do not exist. When most people say they are Nihilists they usually mean they are Existential Nihilists which is that life has no meaning and any attempt to create meaning is a sad and deluded affair. At this point you will begin to see the muddling of philosophy with the psychological anxiety that is often present when people discover the lack of objective meaning.
  8. @Null Simplex nihilist detected lol.
  9. Oh? Would like to know how did you arrive to that conclusion?
  10. It's not a dream. Self-observation. Sit down and observe where your thoughts and actions come from.
  11. @Javfly33 Why are you comparing it to a dream? Don't see the connection.
  12. Life is pointless. Which is not a negative btw. It just means there is no objective purpose waiting somewhere to be discovered. You create your own purpose...or you don't.
  13. Been contemplating this question for a while... Why is reality structured exactly the way it is?? We have 3D space.. We have planets and galaxies.. Human beings need air.. Food and water to thrive.. There is special physical laws like gravity and conservation of energy etc..... It's as if reality is a grand design and everything was sit into place intentionally Is this reality a design ? And why is it designed this way and not some other way?
  14. @The_Truth_Seeker yea yea yea.. You have no idea what you are talking about.. Death is no joke.. You are scared shitless by the smell of death.
  15. This is a journal for quitting my smoking addiction.
  16. @flowboy thank you
  17. @flowboy sure.. Go ahead
  18. I'm back to smoking again after a month of quitting... Need to take this seriously once again. Day zero. 30 days challenge. No smoking. 0️⃣?
  19. @Nahm thank you for trying to help. Nothin. I'm stuck at a taxing job where I have to show up every day for five hours while being a uni student simultaneously. It's taxing on me and I'm not optimistic about it. It makes feel hopeless and depressed. Yes I can come up with these lists. And I can go about achieving them ASAP. Hope that help. Although I doubt it will, in the long run.
  20. Is morality just a subjective relativistic matter? If so.. What's stopping you /me from stealing all your money and raping your wife and killing your kids(aside from the government and law) ...? After all...you kill bacteria in your body by millions every day.. We kill animals for food.. We kill insects because they "annoy" us... It's not like killing us objectively or universally wrong or evil? What is evil after all other than a bunch of flimsy opinions? ... As with the example of killing.. Killing is only selectively bad.. It depends "who" are you killing, right? Killing a chicken for lunch is OK while killing your kids is inhuman crime??
  21. Yeah. Why is asking for a reason. Look it up in the dictionary
