Obviously there is NOT only "you" if by "you" we mean the human avatar. -

@Mason Riggle I didn't say randomness equals freedom. The opposite of freedom is deterministic. The universe is random and chaotic. Not free. And not deterministic. it's a third option. So people can be faced with tons of evidence and still not accept it. They can deny that. Because it's not a deterministic universe where(B) must follow (A). -

You see.. This can only be true if free will exists. The assumption that certain input necessarily leads to certain output. But as you might know the universe is random and chaotic (not deterministic) . You can be faced with tons of evidence and still not accept it. Because randomness and uncertainty are essential to how reality works. It's not a linear process. -

They have no free will in the matter -

We don't have free will. Neuroscience has long ago debunked free will. -

It depends on how you Define "the work". I try my best according to what's available for me. Keep in mind that not everyone will be able access psychedelics just like you do.. due to legal reasons and etc. But when it comes to meditation and self-contemplation.. I did plenty of 'work' trying to crack my mind to understand reality. That's at least better than the majority of people who don't question anything at all. -

@Leo Gura I thought about playing your videos to my family... . But I'm hesitant about it because of how much deluded you sound to the average person. Lol -

You gave birth to your mother instead of her giving birth to you -

Yeah. I guess it's neither real nor illusory. All I'm seeing is empty insubstantial ever changing phenomenal content. It's something that no label will stick on. -

@Breakingthewall So my main concern is how to distinguish between the two (illusion and reality). Because you can't for example distinguish your dreams from your waking life. It turns out that there is no such distinction. It's all real =it's all illusion. -

Totally agree ? -

Interesting. So the waking State's opposite is the dream state. That means the waking state is an illusion just like the dream state? -
is something which I wonder about and it is a theme within some philosophical and spiritual traditions. The emphasis is upon going beyond the desires and goals of the ego and seeking to aim towards cultivating the higher rather than lower aspects of oneself. In speaking 6attachment I am referring to a sense of clinging or emotional involvement with specific aspects of life and detachment as being a state of not being concerned with these any longer. I am not sure if the idea of a lower and higher self is completely helpful, but I do think that there is part of human life which is connected to instinctual desires and, in contrast, there is the cultivation of the moral sense and cultivation of mind and consciousness. In many ways, human beings struggle with conflicts which arise in relation to attachments, ranging from seeking material possessions and the fulfillment of desires and emotional wellbeing in relationships. Suffering is engendered when we do not get the results which we seek. This can result in depression and if a person compares him or herself with others and feels lesser in social worth, it can result in a sense of being a 'failure', whereas on a deeper level success cannot be measured to outer aspects of life. However, I wonder what the state of detachment would amount to and whether it is possible. Is the striving for such a state a desire in itself. Is the fulfillment of desires or pleasures to be avoided, or is such fulfillment an aspiration which can lead one to be happier and a more positive person. Of course, some people do better at achieving their wishes and goals than others. Perhaps, the achievement of detachment works better for those individuals rather than those who are content. But, is detachment a state of indifference, or being cut off from one's emotions, or is a state of greater freedom

@Vibroverse do you agree that there is no way to distinguish between the two (illusion and reality)? -

Oh boy that's a huge one for me lol. This idea started haunting me since I was a child.. I always had this feeling from my early childhood.. That I am actually the only "real" one out there and everyone else are just characters in my dream. Zombies.."cardboard cutouts" in my world. However you wanna call it or think of it. Obviously other people exist as objects of perception in my direct experience.. That's undeniable.. I go out.. I see people everywhere. But are these things" subjects"? Do they have internal self-awareness as I do? Is there someone behind their eyes? It there anybody out there other than me?. The solipsism philosophy doesn't say yes or no to that question contrary to what most people mistakenly misunderstood it.. Solipsism states that one's own mind or subjective experience of the world is the only "certain" thing to exist.. And the existence of other individual minds is "impossible to verify". In other words you are absolutely certain that you are aware right now.. But it's impossible to be certain that I'm (someone here) aware.. In fact why I'm talking to "you"? .. I should say I am aware and "you" are the unsettled mystery. The problem with solipsism is not whether it's objectivey true or not(is it actually the case that I am the only one out there)..but is that it is absolutely true subjectively regardless of that. You are trapped inside your own subjective experience in any case.. So even though I am aware right now from my pov.. From your pov that doesn't matter and there is no such thing.. There is only your awareness.. There is no such thing as "my awareness" in your awareness.. There is only these words in front of you right now and that's the actualilty of what is.. Anything else is just assumptions you add on top of it.."ofcourse there is someone there writing these words.. They couldn't just write themselves lol".. Really?. In your dream.. The entire dream and all the people inside of it..and their actions.. Are nothing but your creation.. They have no Reality of their own outside your imagination.. The only real thing in the dream underneath all the scattered phenomenon is YOU. -
How many selves are we? I'm sure you all talk with yourself. What's fascinating about this is that you can hear multiple people talking inside your head.. There is just a voice In your head that's talking to "you" all the time.. Who is it if it's not you? Do we have more than one self?

True. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Nahm it's because What I noticed is that "the voice in the head" is talking to "us" automatically. Without a single input from "us". It's like if I close my eyes and try to shut up completely.. I still can hear it whispering in my head. It's as if those thoughts are not even my own thoughts. It's like a mild form of schizophrenia. That's why I asked for its origin or source. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So "the origin of thoughts" is itself a thought and is not the actual origin of the thoughts. This is strangeloopy and twisted. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I didn't ask how to resolve thoughts or to get rid of them. I asked about their origin. Do you have any insights regarding that? -
Someone here replied to Vibroverse's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You are no longer in the same universe every passing moment. That's trippy. -
Someone here replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Nahm Yea of course "the voice in the head" is comprised of thoughts. I don't mean there are actual people inside your skull.. But the thoughts can seem that way. They definitely can appear that way. I have a question.... What is the origin of thoughts? Where do thoughts come from? Why do we have them at all? -
I have a simple question today.. Given that free will and choice are an illusion. Which is basically undeniable within the recent discoveries within neuroscience and how the brain works. And evident by how random and chaotic our thoughts and actions are. How to reconcile that with the principles of taking 100 % responsibility for our life? How can you believe that you are 100% responsible for the direction of your life whilst believing that you have no free will?
