Have you noticed this yet? While dreaming, that dream feels legit reasonable. Flying, talking unicorns, sky shattering, monsters chasing, space/time shifts etc All of it feels real and reasonable. No one ever says "Why aren't things conforming to Newtonian Laws??? I REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN IT" It all feels whacky and unreasonable the moment when we contrast it with our waking state reasoning and interpretations. So from where does all our vanity come? Do we really 'do' anything? Or are we just fishes in the sea, swimming (more like getting swum) along the torrents but deluding ourselves with the idea that we are producing and maintaining the hydrodynamics of the sea?

Your quite right, as far as I know there is no definite edge to an event. So with this in mind there can only be one single event. The way I imagine it is, is that the beginning of the universe was the start of an event. That event was not the arrival of a substance, but rather the start of a change in something that can be both dormant and active, when it's active it displays its qualities rather than any thing quantifable, so what actually happens is just an energetic display. Just changes from one quality dominating to another different quality attaining dominance. One event, one big complex looking change from zero qualitys to universe, and (probably)back again -

Well causality is a concept, a way to structure events that are related. Applying the terms "finite" or "infinite" to a concept is meaningless. I think the question cannot be answered in any meaningfull way. Causality is something that can only be applied to relations. When looking at a so called "first cause" or "last effect" we are looking at events, not at relations. The concept of causality becomes meaningless in that sense -

But isn't it being causeless the same as having an infinite causal chain? -

Being sane is a limitation we overlay on top of reality. -

What matters, or what matters more, the state of your mind and the ideas and opinions within it, or your accomplishments and effects upon the outside world? When Alexander the Great came to meet Diogenes, he asked him if there was any favor which he could do for him. Diogenes asked Alexander to move out of his sunlight so that he could continue enjoying the warmth. One man had conquered the world, and one had conquered the need to conquer the world. Which did something better for himself or for the world or for mankind? Alexander has a long list of cities that still bear his name. There is no "Diogenopolis" of which I am aware. Virtually everyone you might ask is likely to have heard of Alexander, yet fewer will know of Diogenes. Which, if either of them, appeals to you as a role model? What about you? Do you seek to impose your will upon the world, to shape it in your own image? Do you wish to acquire or accomplish things before you die? Will your legacy be the material things or titles that you may pass on? Or, do you wish to acquire self-respect or tranquility? Will your legacy be confined mostly to the example of how to live well that you set while you were alive or the wisdom that you might pass on to others, so that they might also live in this way? Which matters more to you and why?

A personal response: I would like to be remembered, ideally remembered fondly. And I would like to be happy while I'm still here. That's about it. No world-domination schemes from me!

@Javfly33 reality is appearance. It's exactly as it appears. Nothing is hidden. Everything is exactly what it is. -

Nothing is not a black void somewhere. Everything we are experiencing all the time is precisely nothing. -

Reality is neutral. Heaven and hell are not places.. But states of consciousness. -

His message is unique. It's a communication from no one to no one. It can deeply resonate with you if you are tired of being a seeker. -

Reality is what you are experiencing right now. It doesn't get any better than this.. Trust me ? -
I mean it happens on a weekly basis.. It's so annoying.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the site itself.. Not my internet connection.

Something and nothing are identical. Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form. -

@Tyler Durden all that's certain is your experience right now.. What was before you were born and after you die are unknown by defintion. Unless you have a memory of yourself in a previous life. -

a man goes to a doctor in his cidy he goes, ay doc, i've got a problem... something happened... i cannot move my right hand. i mean, i can take my left hand and move my right hand with it... but i cannot move my right hand. it's like, i don't know HOW to move it. can you please tell me the doc says, well, it's simple, just move it the man asks, yes, but HOW. how do it JUST MOVE IT? the doc thinks... and he has no answer. he realizes that he himself does not know HOW he moves his right hand or well, anything... it's almost as if, one need only think or be told and one does. if i tell you, raise your right hand. you simply raise your right hand. when you make any movements yourself, the thought about moving and the action is ONE MOVEMENT. simultaneously. in-fact, we can say that conditioned action is without thought. it is simply arising. this is none other than "BE! and it Is" . REALITY IS : BE, and it IS you don't know HOW you move or speak etc. you simply think it, and it is. just as you may have once wanted to learn to ride a bike and so did... same way, you can learn to get the handle on larger things which you need only THINK and they will be. ASK and RECEIVE WANT and HAVE THINK and MANIFEST until it is simply collapses into a single continuous conscious manifestation... or as stated above, conditioned action, without thought. only a doing-creating. beyond labels. only NOW. - BEING - going from B-E-I-N-G to BEING because you're never not BEING -
Studying, pondering and looking within myself and seeing the layers upon layers of contradictions, loose ends, faultlines and loopholes; it astonishes me how this whole 'thing' is still in one piece. I mean the whole world. I am astonished how anything functions at all! Given that 99% of people having no clue there is such a thing as meta knowledge. I mean its sooooo easy to poke and break people into ashes from inside out considering how flimsy and dreamlike sand castles our fabricated identities are. It astonishes me how come people seem to get together for few hours without raping and slitting each others throats, how people live in a family for decades without murdering each others, how suicide is not happening in billions, how people are not running outside naked in mass frenzy consumed by gnawing madness, how people dont just smash their heads open against the wall, how they dont pick out the eyeballs of their children and cook it so on and so forth. An absolute benevolent force is indeed operating. Yeah the abovementioned 'scary' cases do happen once in while, but yet there is this astonishing miracle holding it all together. Its a miracle people 'think' they are happy and happiness is possible tomorrow, its a miracle things still feel 'stable' in spite of few hiccups here and there. Its a miracle how everything is still maintained and conducted on time and schedule year after year...as if some almighty force is keeping everyone straight in line by firmly sticking its hand up everyone's butt. Its a miracle! And of course if spoken from plain, honest experience, all of it is my imagination. It is all held together because I have still held it all together

In my definition, reality is seen by the mind that does not think— it doesn't think, it's just awake. Its knowledge is immediate, as in knowing whether water tastes cold or not without deliberation. That's what knows. Actually, it's who knows. Who is that? It's just selfless awareness, your own mind right now. It's not just that non-discursive mind sees reality— it alone is what is reality. I can say that!
