How can you have peace when you don't know what the heck reality is ? Do you realize that you have no idea whatsoever what reality is ? We live in it. Not understanding that which you live in will make you nervous, distraught, worried, even paranoid. You know all those people that lash out and claim conspiracies left and right? Not all of them have a diagnosis that give them paranoid delusions, some simply cannot understand the reality they live in, it is just too complicated and hard to get one’s head around. The need to understand the reality that we live in is bred into us and cannot be taken away, so when we lack an understanding, sometimes we will rather make up stuff about reality ,no matter how nonsensical , as long as we understand it. -

Enlightenment has nothing to do with the ego, enlightenment has everything to do with awareness. The extent of a human awareness is not in any way predicated by the presence or absence of an ego. The awareness of babies is very limited. -

People often choose this representation of what a mindful mind is. It's either a dog or a child. And there have been users on this forum saying that babies are enlightened which is silly. Being mindful is not some higher truth or perspective and does not equal to enlightenment. -
1.began to notice that despite having a good life ,family, education, profession, material things.I had this inner yearning for more. I began reading and exploring and after decades found the wisdom of advaita vedanta is a fascinating and sublime path that has revealed to me who I am, why I am here and what I am to do while in this life. 2.For me, being challenged and going out of my way to push to the next level is inspiring. Sometimes life needs changes because things have become stale or too predictable. Challenges break that mould, and the ideas and excitement that come with it create inspiration

Yes ..one challenging question to answer is on what basis do we cherrypick the right religious texts . on what basis could we ever edit the sacred texts of all or the main religions and come up with a unified text shorn of all the “toxic” exhortations and commands? That is tantamount to expecting that we can unify the world’s diverse cultures and moral standards , a task far beyond our desires and capabilities so far. We argue every day about what “evil” is and what “good” is. I am good, so you must be bad, etc., etc., ad nauseam! Furthermore ,and this is admittedly the biased remark of an anti-religionist , I don’t think religions are born out of unselfish love and desire for peace and order in our world. -
Ego death is the (often instantaneous) realization that you are not truly the things you've identified with, and the "ego" or sense of self you've created in your mind is a fabrication. In some instances, it can offer a profound feeling of peace and connectedness with all that is, as the walls of separation the ego creates come crumbling down. In other cases, and especially if your ego resists this "death," the experience can be very scary and result in a sense of detachment or disassociation . Ultimately, ego deaths are not a casual experience but rather quite the opposite. It changes the course of people's lives entirely. When one comes through on the other side having released all the things they've identified with, with only their true spirit left. Experiencing ego death is life-changing, intense, and sometimes terrifying, but it can also lead you to your soul's nature and allow you to live a life in harmony with your deepest truth. So whether you're in the throes of your own ego death right now, or are just getting started, There is no need to worry ..the real you is emerging.

You might wonder how you are God? You might be having difficulties getting a grip on this one fundamental teaching of Leo. And here I want to help you understand this in a simple logical way . First ,you are this human being, let's start here. Now where did you come from? I mean you gotta wonder. From your mom's body. And she came from her mom and so forth. Now I don't need to describe all the details, go back to evolution or the big bang or whatever, its basically all the universe Morphing and transforming from one form into another. Having sex with itself and giving birth to itself. Now please can we get way with the apparent boundaries? Let's say everything is one it's all interconnected. Now this one existence is there anything beyond it ? No because even if there is.. it's still it. So it's one. Infinite. And self sustained. Eternal. Didn't come from anywhere. Nothing beyond it. And it's the only thing that there is. And what is all that? It is you. Seems like you are God pretty much.

Yes I have learned so much from God That I can no longer call myself a Christian, a Hindu, A Muslim, A Buddhist, a Jew. The Truth [of Love] has shared so much of Itself with me That I can no longer call myself a man, a woman, an angel, or even a pure soul. I think that the old religious doctrines have to die away and the whole world become secular before a new universal religion can rise from the destruction of the old.I'm not advocating revolution , just evolution of ideas. It's already happening. I agree with you. However the old religious language and imagery are so imbued with superstitions and revenges and rewards, that they have to be superceded by a new language and a new imagery of spirituality. This does not mean that the poetry of the Qur'an and the Bible should be scrapped, these are among our heritage of beauty , but they should be understood not as beliefs about facts, but as human experiences. -
You missed my overall point by only quoting that part of my post. I actually agree with you that the universe has no outside(that's what I clearly stated in OP). That all dimensions (if they exist) exist in the same infinite singularity. However ..we are not aware of everything exactly as it is in reality. Our senses are a blurry peephole to reality. There is way more beyond that door: a bigger gamut of light, smells, sounds, and maybe other things we're not even aware of. In top of that we don't know if our senses are interpreting properly (if there is such thing) those external signals. Reality does not exist as we perceive it, at least, not exactly. A lot of our perceptions are wrong. And people's perceptions of the world vary. For example, a blind person does not perceive the world the way a sighted person does; but more subtle differences could easily exist between any two people. And, in a certain sense, there is no way to know whether any two people are perceiving the world the same way at all. So to get back to the original question..we might think that our bubble of perceptions is the whole universe..but that's just like saying the visual phenomenon doesn't exist because I'm a blind person and can't perceive it. Do you see the incompatibility here ? I hope so.

My own answer is that the universe has no outside because its literally infinite. It stretches out endlessly in all directions. But not just In terms of space. In terms of time also . Back you move ,you will not find a beginning. Ahead you move ,you will not find an end. What do you think?

You have to understand that you as an ego will NOT experience everything possible . But you as God will . And that's a completely different story .God is selfless .so he doesn't mind experience hell for eternity. Its a piece of cake for God. When you are completely selfless and unbiased ..nothing can hurt you or affect you . Also I would not focus too much on that aspect of Infinity if it causes you intense suffering. Have you noticed that what you don't focus on ,literally doesn't exist anymore? So why focus on these ideas if they are not serving you and causing you existential crisis? Spirituality is about connection with your true nature..tapping in to timelessness..you dont have to do anything… be you and have fun…ultimately , its a gift not a right..not knowing is the fun of it… why do a cross word puzzle ?climb mountains ,surf…?.its the challenges in life ,the requirement is to accept the absolutely most bizarre thing . reality is not limited to survival and the norrow understandings….for me it's about being grateful for the great cycle of everything you see … grateful for the mystery. To be able to smile in the middle of the most terrifying storms. There can't be two forever. Nothing lasts forever. Every form is finite and it's going to die and disappear. Hell could manifest as a fear that could potentially keep the “me” going. it’s illusory like anything else; just another stick, of the carrot and stick. Another thing that’s obvious here, is that all suffering comes to an end, because there isn’t anyone either connected to or separate from emptiness (or everything). Like anything else, hell is imaginary . it can exist as a motivator for stage blue folk, etc, but nothing lasts forever, nothing is separate, and if there were nothing but intense suffering, there’d be no reference point to know what’s better, and even if it’s a worst case scenario, if there is a reference point of happiness in consciousness that exists to allow max suffering to exist . .well then one could just pay attention to that positive reference point and it wouldn’t be hell anymore. In any case it wouldn’t last forever, nothing does. It would eventually be transcended (not that it’s actually real).

@Yarco I tried to be an early bird who wakes up at 5 am and go for a run but I failed. Its just not Me . Being a night owl does have a few downsides though. Since most of society is structured around a daytime schedule like 9 to 5 workdays or daytime school and college classes . late risers might have a harder time holding a traditional job. Young night owls might even have trouble adjusting to a fixed school schedule.

Let's take an Examples question to make this inquiry more concrete........ Does planet Mars exist while one is not perceiving it? My Answer : Nothing exists for you/me except the stuff that is occurring in your (my) direct experience in the NOW. Existence =NOW. Ideas about here and there.. Now and then and back then.. Up there and down here..themselves must occur NOW for them to be just more concepts occurring again NOW. It's not that there is an absolute static truth about whether "Mars" "exists".. There is no such thing as "Mars".. For all you know mars could be exploding and getting destroyed now.. So it exists at one point and it doesn't exist in the next moment. How about when you are dreaming and completely lost in your dream..mars doesn't exist in the context of your dream world. Just like a flying spaghetti monster does not exist in this world as far as we can tell.. But who knows maybe it exists in some other dimension! You see it's all relative. Identity itself is relative to time and change. Existence itself is relative to a frame of reference and to an observer. So does mars exist? Yes and no without a doubt relative to whatever one imagines this question even "means" lol. But don't go looking for an absolute answer. No idea is absolute.

No .I don't recommend you killing yourself at all. Whether its in silence or not . I sympathise with you Look...No matter how much pain you’re experiencing right now, you’re not alone. Many of us have had suicidal thoughts at some point in our lives. Feeling suicidal is not a character defect, and it doesn’t mean that you are crazy, or weak, or flawed. It only means that you have more pain than you can cope with right now. But with time and support, you can overcome your problems and the pain and suicidal feelings will pass. Some of the finest, most admired, needed, and talented people have been where you are now. Many of us have thought about taking our own lives when we’ve felt overwhelmed by depression and devoid of all hope. But the pain of depression can be treated and hope can be renewed. No matter what your situation, there are people who need you, places where you can make a difference, and experiences that can remind you that life is worth living. It takes real courage to face death and step back from the brink. You can use that courage to face life, to learn coping skills for overcoming depression, and for finding the strength to keep going. Remember: Your emotions are not fixed ...they are constantly changing. How you feel today may not be the same as how you felt yesterday or how you’ll feel tomorrow or next week. Your absence would create grief and anguish in the lives of friends and loved ones. There are many things you can still accomplish in your life. There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the ability to delight and lift you and that you would miss. Your ability to experience pleasurable emotions is equal to your ability to experience distressing emotions.

@Blackhawk you are not open to advice and help. You make these kinds of threads and then when someone offers help you just reject it and use deflection and toxic skepticism to refute any attempt that is trying to help . Trust me because I myself was in your place one day .and I know it fucking sucks and nothing makes sense when you are in this mindspace. Are you at least open to the possibility that you can change your life to the better and conquer your depression and your problems with getting laid? Or are you completely hopeless and don't want anyone to help you ? Because if it's the second one then I don't understand what's the point of starting these kinds of threads over and over again if you are not willing to take advice from people seriously?

@Blackhawk bro..death is no joke . You don't know what you're getting yourself into. Seek professional help ASAP. You MUST visit a psychiatrist and be put under antidepressants . Be careful what thoughts you put in your mind . You attract what you think about .if you keep ruminating about death you will eventually end up actually committing suicide. That's the last place you want to be into .Trust me . I was suicidal and depressed for the majority of my life .but with taking antidepressants and working on my life purpose I got out of that dull state. You can too. I believe in you.

We are not sure but can theorize what lies beyond the universe that we know. Outside the bounds of our universe may lie another universe. Space outside space that extends infinitely into what our little bubble of a universe may expand into forever. Lying hundreds of billions of light years from us could be other island universes much like our own. But why can't we see them? It's a possibility that they are so far away that by the time their light reaches us, it may have lost so much energy that we cannot detect it, or our universe may end by the time it reaches us. Another theory is that we are creating space as our universe expands. Outside this expansion lies a higher dimensional space-time universe which we are unfolding into. Since it is higher dimension, we cannot see, detect it, or comprehend it. Once again I emphasise that it depend on how you define the universe. If you mean the scientific observed universe that physicists know today..then it has a finite radius and a finite age . But if we are talking about Universe with Capital U ...that includes all possible universes and all possibilities that we can't even imagine..and in that sense it's definitely absolutely infinite. Leaving no room for anything to be outside it.
-
Again it depends on how you define "universe ". You are defining it as just your little bubble of perceptions. The visual field and the audiotry perceptions etc. In that case yes ..there is definitely something outside of your universe. Namely the entire cosmos minus your bubble of perceptions. Which means you have less than 0.000000000001% access to the universe. Not sure why would you limit the definition of the universe to that degree.

My argument runs like this. I’ll construe “science” as the set of tools we use to find truth about the universe, with the understanding that these truths are provisional rather than absolute. These tools include observing nature, framing and testing hypotheses, trying your hardest to prove that your hypothesis is wrong to test your confidence that it’s right, doing experiments and above all replicating your and others’ results to increase confidence in your inference. And I’ll define religion as does philosopher Daniel Dennett: “Social systems whose participants avow belief in a supernatural agent or agents whose approval is to be sought.” Of course many religions don’t fit that definition, but the ones whose compatibility with science is touted most often ..the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam . Next, realize that both religion and science rest on “truth statements” about the universe ..claims about reality. The edifice of religion differs from science by additionally dealing with morality, purpose and meaning, but even those areas rest on a foundation of empirical claims. You can hardly call yourself a Christian if you don’t believe in the Resurrection of Christ, a Muslim if you don’t believe the angel Gabriel dictated the Qur’an to Muhammad, or a Mormon if you don’t believe that the angel Moroni showed Joseph Smith the golden plates that became the Book of Mormon. After all, why accept a faith’s authoritative teachings if you reject its truth claims? The conflict between science and faith, then, rests on the methods they use to decide what is true, and what truths result: These are conflicts of both methodology and outcome.

I really liked the "deconstructing the myth of science "series. It's time to deconstruct religion. To help religious stage Blue people loosen up a bit.
