Great ! Actually ..I'm Indian and I'm familiar with pantheistic religions like Hinduism which says that you are God. But I'm actually skeptical about it . "I am god and that there is nothing but me".... This is what the core message that vedanta's teach us. Per the scriptures.. This is ( realization that i am god)THE KNOWLEDGE one should strive for in their and the moment one realizes this..they would attain liberation(moksha)and live in eternal bliss. But this is a concept that could be very easily misunderstood by people and to them it might sound like a statement of arrogance.. if the meaning of 'I' is not understood clearly. Are you referring to my physical body? mind? ego? Or consciousness itself ?

Nothig new under the sun. That is indeed what many people do. Interpreting the Bible or other religious texts in a certain way is a big part of apologetics. That is why we have so many different branches with the same religious text.. but interpreting it in different ways. To me it makes very little sense to start interpreting while ignoring the history and context in which the original ancient author wrote it. You then go into the disingenuous part of apologetics.. because you ignore the meaning and intention of the original author. So when the Bible says Adam and eve ate from the tree of knowledge the became mortal..a Christian will take it literally. A new age hippy will say its a metaphor for forgetting your true nature and being stuck in the ego .
