  1. I agree that free will is an illusion. But how is cause and effect be an illusion? I think that Cause and effect is an illusion if the cause is outside of your context. Otherwise it is recognizable. Keep in mind that I am only talking about cause, and the cause of a cause as an illusion. I am not talking about effect, and the effect of an effect. Talking about effects leads to a discussion about deterministic and non-deterministic. Either there is exactly one set of effects (deterministic), or a choice of which effect to choose(non-deterministic). If there is a choice, then cause has less value than effect
  2. @Leo Gura doesn't porn kinda objectifies women and draw exaggerated unrealistic expectations of how sex should be? Do you have no ethical issues with porn ?
  3. I feel that knowing means knowing the full impact of what is going on and being able to forsee what will be the possible consequences of an action or event. Because Basically the world works under causality at least on the thinking level. What I mean is that when we think we always think about what will be the result based on our knowledge, historical data or past experience. Being means acting based on "knowing" or not ..it does matter. Action once performed will have consequences but if the action is performed without "knowing" it will keep the actor not that prepared for the results or the things coming based on the consequences. So you are right .. I know that I'm the whole of reality ..but I'm not able to live based on that knowledge. Therefore I require more embodiment work.
  4. I know that I'm everything but the implications and consequences of this is so radical that I wish I was just this little human who was born for no reason other than biological coincidence and will disappear completely after death . But I'm working on embodiment of these insights.
  5. There are two primary drives that urges people in life. It's the basic survival drives like drive for food and for sex . However..i noticed something extremely strange about the difference between these two drives . Unlike food ..you feel hungry..then you eat and satisfy your hunger .and you no longer need more until after few hours pass and you start to feel hungry again. But once you are full /well stuffed, you no longer crave more. And if you eat more when you are already full ..you will probably puke . But when it comes to sexual desire .its the opposite. The more you indulge in sexual activity the more you crave more . This is something I'm noticing from my porn and masturbation habit .I'm beginning to get back to porn and masturbation after few months of sobriety. I noticed that no matter how many times I cum ..I still wanna do more ..like in my mind I still don't feel satisfied .even though my dick could go numb and there is zero arousal in the body .its still a never ending chase in the mind .you masturbate once .and you think it's gonna satisfy you but you actually feel disillusioned and you crave for more . It doesn't take more than one orgasm to know what an orgasm is .Once you have an orgasm..all you want is more . Actually my brother told me that it's good to ejaculate every day. It prevents prostate cancer and whatnot. I strongly disagree with him. Who the fuck can ejaculate every single day ?I mean I don't care how powerful your manhood is . If you gonna ejaculate every day..then you might as well dig your own grave ?. Also something about pornography. Imo it's the most addictive drug out there . The shit is LITERALLY endless. There is no end to the porn content. So it makes you always chasing your next hit of dopamine. You search for the perfect video. The perfect girl. The perfect scene etc . I'm not sure if real sex have the same effect .but I highly suspect that it does .
  6. So we will never have a theory of everything? Is it completely impossible given that reality is infinite and cannot be encapsulated in physics equations? I mean science is trying but I doubt they will ever succeed. This was Einstein's life goal and he failed to find anything new. If Einstein failed then what chance for others?lol
  7. @Leo Gura @Inliytened1 agreed . Neuroscience has been trying for decades now and they still got no clue what consciousness is. Whereas mystics who lived thousands of years ago understood it perfectly. But to materialist science, mysticism is nonsense. If you accept that there is a hard problem of consciousness...then you have to accept that there are limits to science, and that consciousness is beyond these limits. Not all neuroscientists believe this, but many do. In my experience many scientists consider consciousness to be too vague a concept to be amenable to scientific analysis.
  8. Sex is the highest form of love beyond which a man/woman could not express his/her love. when your words are not enough to express your love towards him/her . Sex makes the partners to connect more emotionally . This actually helps to strengthen their bond. Sex is one of the way of Ultimate communication. But now a days people are trying to find plessure in sex. There is hell lot of difference between having sex with a normal person and with the loved person. When you have sex with normal person you might feel plessure, happy but when you have sex with your partner the feeling is complete different. Sex with love is plessure Sex without love is prostitution.
  9. My ultimate sexual fantasy..I actually fap to her a lot. Is to have sex with Kate Upton . It's a shame that she is just a model and not a pornstar .if she were a pornstar I would completely destroy my dick fapping to her. She is the most sexy and attractive woman I ever saw . I fell in love with her bikini ads since the age of puberty. I just love you Kate ?
  10. I dont understand Why is sexual fantasy so addictive? Its hard for me to do nofap this year . I'm only on day 10 which is as far as I got in my first NoFap attempt. So call this round 2. I'm going for 90 days, so it's 80 days to go... My previous set-back happened because I didn't really understand the power of sexual fantasy and how it is the cornerstone of the three building block behaviours of a porn addiction (sexual fantasy, pornography and masturbation). Dr Mark Laaser says: "Fantasy by itself can be exciting enough for the addicts body to produce adrenaline, which is stimulating and elevates mood. Fantasy fuels the neurochemicals that facilitate human sexual response in such a way that the response takes place even without any physical stimuli. Fantasy can produce chemicals called chatecholamines in the pleasure centers of the brain that positively alter mood and even have a narcotic-like effect. The addict then uses these effects to escape unpleasant emotions, to change negative feelings to positive feelings, and even to reduce stress." Imagine that: just fantasying about the porn that I've seen (or anything else that captures my eye in a lustful way) gets all my old PMO neurological wiring going again. So I'm trying to commit to 'early intervention" where I make sure that the water is clean upstream. No sexual fantasy = little or no chance of PMO downstream. So it's: NoSF + NoPorn + NoFap
  11. @Leo Gura Leo ,in your opinion, why does neuroscience still stuck on the assumption that consciousness Is generated by the brain and that its an emerging phenomenon from physical processes? on the other hand I'm curious to understand why chemical and physical manipulations can alter conciousness. Things such as trauma, or brain injuries can both lower ones degree of consciousness, indicating that physical process underly consciousness. However, some people who arent taken very seriously like to argue that the brain is a receiver of conciousness, so a soul or extraphysical consciousness may exist, but the brain just “houses” or “recieves” consciousness. These theories are considered jokes by the scientific community, and most who seriously study in nuerosicence or philosophy would not subscribe to such a theory. Are we really not as advanced as we think we are ?
  12. Death is a belief. There is zero empirical evidence for it's existence. Too much thinking outside the box or maybe madness? I'm not sure anymore . You realize immortality when you stop identifying as a human but as the entire universe. Basically the whole of reality. The human will die . Reality is eternal. And immortal.
  13. Yes .it's a huge contradiction in kant's philosophy. How come this "thing in itself " be unacceable for us and yet it is said to exist ? Then how did you know that it exists if you have no direct experience of it??? Pure contradiction.
  14. The “thing in itself” is the actual existence/appearance of the object. I mean, how the object really is in reality as opposed to the phenomenon (the representation of the appearance of an object). As Kant himself says, a rose is taken/perceived as an object with the idea of a red colored flower. So, in empirical sense, a rose is a flower with red color property. But Kant says, the redness of a rose is the mere representation of the flower. We can’t know the actual appearance of a rose (thing in itself) but only the properties we perceive from our empirical senses (phenomenon). He claimed that things in itself are there, but impossible to be seen. Then, we come and we “decode” those things filtering them through the limits of our senses Let’s say there was a frog sitting in front of you. Your senses can tell you that it’s a certain size, cool, wet, green, wiggling, etc. But those are just the qualities that your senses (deceptively, according to Kant) tell you, they are not the thing itself. Kant said that the thing itself (as opposed to sensory information about it) is completely unavailable to us since there is no “direct” way to know anything about it at all. Since you can’t know anything about it, the best you can say is “My faulty senses tell me X, Y, and Z, but what do they know? All I have is this subjective and probably wrong set of sensory data about it, I have nothing of the thing in itself. But it's easy to prove kant wrong:; How does Kant know that there are people, or senses, or frogs, or anything else on his theory? He knows nothing about them according to Kant himself, so who bother listening to him further?
  15. We all have our existential fears .I know I have. Not sure about you but since I was a child I was terrified by the concept of hell . Imagine an evil place full of lava and burning and fire and you get to be tortured in it forever. FOREVER. Do you realize how bad that is? So I decided to disprove to myself the concept of hell .just to see where does this journey take me. keep in mind that reality is infinite. It can instantly manifest the worst hell you can ever possibly imagine. But my argument here is not to definitively prove that hell doesn't exist. But to show that even if it did..it's not gonna be as bad as you think it is. here is the logic behind this:; all suffering comes to an end, because there isn’t anyone either connected to or separate from emptiness (or everything). Like anything else, hell is imaginary it can exist as a motivator for stage blue folk, etc, but nothing lasts forever, and if there were nothing but intense suffering, there’d be no reference point to know what’s better, ,so you wouldn't know that it is suffering. and even if it’s a worst case scenario..if there is a reference point of happiness in consciousness that exists to allow max suffering to exist .. well then one could just pay attention to that positive reference point and it wouldn’t be hell anymore. In any case it wouldn’t last forever, nothing does. It would eventually be transcended .
  16. Well.why don't you give me all your money then? It's just an illusion after all
  17. Does he advocate idealism or panpsychism? Because I watched few hours of his podcasts and still wondering about his worldview. Although I noticed the main theme he talks about is that Reality is not what we have been told it is. It is not fundamentally made up of material stuff despite the apparent evidence of our senses and the work of scientists. Reality is simply and only consciousness clothed in many and varied guises.
  18. Actually you introduced me to Bernardo . By sharing a video of him with Rupert Spira. I didn't know the guy back then. But you keep talking about him all the time. And indeed he has some interesting ideas.
  19. You ain't one unless you read Descartes, kant,Schopenhauer, and philosophers from this ilk . Its one thing to philosophize on a forum like me (basically mentally masturbating) and it's another deal to become a professional philosopher . It's not easy . And unfortunately a philosophy degree is not worth a penny nowadays ?. Difficult to get a job with a philosophy degree.
  20. @Carl-Richard how to get those though? Any ideas on how to become a wealthy hotshot? You are a smart guy. Maybe buying all the numbers of the lottery lol So your selfish and petty NEEDS are more important than charity ?lol ? yeah will spend half of it on getting my needs met and I think it's a good idea to do charity. Makes you feel good about yourself . Even that turns out to be fueled by selfish motives lol jk . Do you want to become a philosopher? Because that's actually my life purpose which unfortunately can't be actualized precisely because lack of the goddam money lol
  21. @Vibroverse see, everyone and everything and I mean EVERYTHING is the product of your infinite god mind . So whatever it imagines to be real is what is literally real . But your ego doesn't have control over this . You imagine laws of physics and logic and limitations to make the dream more challenging and more interesting. Otherwise you would be bored out of your goddam mind with infinite power and infinite satisfaction forever. So you dreamed this world and have put some limitations in it to enjoy the ride . Think of it as God being bored because he is fucking eternal and can't go anywhere. It's all a cosmic joke .
  22. They are identical and aren't. They are just dreams.they are all made of consciousness or the same "stuff" whatever. Same substance but different appearance. Like ice and water. You can't say they are identical in terms of what they appear to be. Otherwise you can't refer to "this" and "that" and compare them together if they were identical
  23. I have decided. I'm never ever again gonna put a cigarette in my mouth . I made up my mind .I value my long-term health and happiness more than the fleeting pleasure of cigarettes . Day 0. I just crushed a cigarette and throwed the pack into the garbage can. Where it belongs . Will update every single day.
  24. Is there really harmful effects of masturbation? Idk honestly. Some doctors say it's healthy and can help preventing prostate cancer. Some say there are huge Disadvantages of Masturbation" -There is guilt coming inside us just after losing sperm -Our Nature became angry -The shine has been removed one by one. -Confidence down, can't talk with older people with eye contact. -Start feeling weak -Problems arise when you want a baby. There are so many facts available which tell you, why you have to stop it There was a time when I was so much addicted to masturbation . But I know that I have to leave it, but whenever I tried, then I do it in a shorter period.
  25. I remember very vivid one time I masturbated .I was 14 or 15, and staying with a friend overnight. I got up to pee early in the morning, and heard weird noises from his bedroom. I look in there are he is naked on the bed, humping a pillow or stuffed animal or something, and really enjoying himself. I watched with amazement at this, and my penis got harder and harder. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and ran to bed, took off my underwear, and humped my stuffed bunny rabbit like he did, and very soon had an orgasm, which was probably my best. I did it again and had two more orgasms. I even made a noise of pleasure loud enough at my orgasm to wake my friend, for a moment. I had to rest and let it pulsate for a while before I could quit.
