  1. No .you are misunderstanding . Of course there are happy people and miserable people. I know because I was miserable in the past .and I'm happy now . To say there are no happy people or unhappy people is pedantic and ridiculous. Happy people make happiness their default feeling. They remain grateful for what they have. They spend no time pining for what they don’t. They do get angry, but unless they can channel it into a useful purpose (think parents who lost their child through the actions of another, and fight to stop it from happening to other kids), they let it go quickly. They don’t wallow in the emotion. There are sad people obviously. Sadness comes into all of our lives. Sometimes it takes a full grieving process to rid ourselves of it. Happy people can always shorten this process by practicing acceptance. That is knowing that everything is what it is. Though it takes some adjustments, we often have to follow the curves life takes us on, rather than forging straight ahead.
  2. @Sincerity .Happiness is our essential nature/being. However, we have learned a lot of bad habits and picked up a lot of beliefs and concepts that create miseries for ourselves. We create our own unhappiness. Look at an infant’s face and you will likely see joy, happiness, and wonder. We forget all this as we grow up…and by adulthood forget the inherent joy and happiness of life.
  3. The FIFA World Cup will begin soon at 20 November. What are your predictions for the 2022 World Cup? I feel like the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Brazil and Argentina are the ones who are going to have a good chance at this WC. What are your thoughts? I’m not bias on the Ronaldo vs Messi debate even though I think Messi is better I would love to see Argentina or Portugal win it. Would just cap off an amazing career. A lot of people underestimate Portugal. They have a lot of talent. Discuss everything related to world Cup here .of course if you are interested in football (soccer ) you are probably excited as I am ? .
  4. I attempted to answer this question as would a professional who has studied happiness as a state of being. I began to feel like I would have to write at least an essay to even begin to explain all I think about this subject. In short, I think happiness is transient at best but the good news is that within a normal lifespan it comes and goes if we are fortunate. There are far too many people in the world suffering from war, disease, hunger, etc. to say that happiness exists in an absolute form and would feel the same for the same reasons for everyone. I imagine there are some people who have never known happiness. Think about your own life. Are you always happy? There's your answer for you personally. Yes it's a not binary (you either happy or not ). But it is 100% under your control. In fact if you have just 10% of good feelings in your life and you are gratefull for everything you have..you will be happy even if you struggle to put bread on the table . It's a mindset. External factors do plat a role .at what percentage is the question .I would say it only plays 40% of what makes up happiness. The rest is all internal . No .they are more than enough when they are happening. You learn the lesson and you move on .only a fool will taste the same source of suffering twice just cuz .
  5. I do . In fact I would say that happiness is born from the womb of suffering. You must know what true suffering and misery are ( and false and pseudo-happiness is ). Before you get to know true happiness.
  6. it is a two-way street. People with chronic conditions may struggle with overall happiness and joy in their lives from time to time, especially when their health is declining or when they’re in pain. On the other hand, if you’re unhappy, you’re less likely to do things that will benefit your health, such as workout or eat properly. This can lead to health problems and it becomes a vicious cycle. If you are sick, you probably aren’t happy. If you are hurt, you are probably not happy. If you are disabled, you probably aren’t as happy as if you were whole. I can’t think of anything more obvious to say as being sound of body and mind is paramount to easier create the foundations for a state of happiness. I do think that happiness is a state of mind though. The end result from my "health revolution " was happiness . Don't negotiate me on this point please ?. Because I know myself and what t I have achieved in life more than anyone else . That is ,I know myself and my emotions better than you do, right ?
  7. eld he/she teaches. Also, there are a thousand things that can overlap, if you are good at something you can have some useful and good things to say about things that are related to the thing that you embodied. Also the other thing you need to understand that just because someone embodied something that won't guarantee that he /she will be good at teaching it. Being a good teacher is not exclusive to embodiedness. The easiest way to demonstrate why its not good to always rule out people who haven't embodied the things they preach and teach about is coaching, more specifically sport coaching. You can be a number 1 box or football or weightlifting coach without any need to do competition in any of those sports. Im struggling to understand how does this relate to my post. But correct me if I'm wrong. My mother's worst insult for someone was(they can dish it out), but they can't take it. I remember her saying it about mean people. My mom knew how to deal with bullies. She made a few cry in her day. Talking the talk, but not walking the walk is a more soft insult. It's more of an entreaty, as in ,show me you mean what you're saying. I have no problem with most who talk but do not walk. At least they have a good idea of what it would look like to walk the walk. We all have to start somewhere. If you are truly wise then you can't be unhappy. Its foolish to be unhappy when it's 100% under your control . Both . "Lol okay "
  8. They certainly can, it might not be the most useful advice though! Often people (like me!) have been very unhappy and sought out supposed experts on happiness and have done a lot of work and research in order to learn how to and to become happy. I’m not always happy, but I am much happier than I was a few years ago or even a few months ago. Usually the happiest people tend to have the simplest advice I’ve noticed. Because happiness is quite simple. It’s a choice you and I can make at any moment. It might take a progression of choices for some, yet many of us can instantly drop the baggage of misery we carry around with us and embrace the joy of life and fall back in love with ourselves. Which do you choose? Happiness is a chosen state of mind, one that stops buying into negative stories about you and about life. Generally, the less you’re thinking and the more you’re in flow with life the happier you are . Yes ,Tolle was suicidal before his enlightenment and before he found inner peace. Its called the dark night of the soul . Usually you must go really really down before you rise really really up . And that's the case with him . I definitely been there (depressed ,suicidal, anxiety etc ). But I'm finally healed completely and I'm now happy and satisfied with my life.
  9. Do you think messi might be an alien? His magnetic ball control and dribbling is is just inhuman and absurd. Or do you think that his talent is simply a gift from God himself? Ronaldo was awful last couple of seasons. But go on YouTube and watch him when he was in his prime ..definitely in top 10 ever.
  10. I want to appreciate Mbappe. He is like the next Ronaldo or something . Top level .incredible speed and confidence. After Messi and Ronaldo retire..we will enjoy Mbappe.
  11. @Gesundheit2 congratulations ?. I'm leaving the forum for a while .
  12. The match didn't end yet . France will come back . This is a world Cup final. And they will do everything they can.
  13. Lol? Did you expect me to bet money on this? I honestly don't give two shits about who wins .although I truly wish it for Messi so that he can officially be considered the GOAT . But I expect France to win because its better as a team .
  14. @Gesundheit2 lol I can sense the hoot . Let's make a gamble to make this more exciting..if France won ..you leave the forum for two weeks .if Argentina won..I leave the forum for two weeks . Deal ? Cuz honestly we both need to take a break from this place..I put my hands on my heart /chest whenever that bug happens on the forum and it goes down for few hours lol ..this is not healthy .I can't speak about you..but I personally am very attached to this forum . Im asking for a small favour but still know that you will probably say no, so might want to start by asking for a huge favour. Then when you say no, i ask for the smaller one. You are more likely to say yes, especially if you feel a bit bad about turning down the first request. Can you grab your balls and accept my gamble? Because I'm 100% convinced that France will win
  15. Lol? Just saying.. don't act all surprised if Argentina didn't win . This world Cup was full of unexpected results. This year's World Cup is already proving to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. There are several countries with legitimate chances at winning, but who would of thought that Brazil and Germany Will be knocked out this way? I genuinely think France will win .because they got a better team and multiple skilfull players .not just one .unlike Argentina which only depend on messi's performance. What if Messi wasn't in his peak ?
  16. I had the same situation a while back . Here is what I did to to resolve it: I asked myself what my superpower was (we all have one, you know.) What was it that I loved doing the most? That thing that I could do all day without getting bored or tired? What gives me the "where does the time go" feeling? To answer these questions, I took my time. And I found mixing music and creating music is my thing . Find a hobby that you enjoy. Go buy sport's shoes and run miles or play soccer or whatever.
  17. Haha fair enough. What would we should do to you if Messi didn't win ?
  18. @Tyler Robinson hi .I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I know it's terrible. Let me try to shed some light on your situation so that you have an idea what's going on. The reason you are having a lot of negative thoughts is because your mind is idle. The reason your mind is idle is because you don't have energy to do anything. The reason you don't have energy to do anything is because you are channeling the bulk of your energy into suppressing your emotions, as a result of your negative thoughts. Negative thoughts -> negative emotions -> use energy to suppress emotions -> no energy to do anything else -> mind is idle -> more negative thoughts The fear that you will not be normal is one such negative thought. It's all connected, but it can be hard to see when you're in the thick of it. It's all one big haze, one neverending cloud of darkness. The first thing to realise is that you cannot trust your own thoughts. That's scary, I know. But when you're in the midst of a depressive episode, you cannot trust your own mind. That means some of the things that your mind thinks are real, some are not, and you are unable to differentiate which is which. In such times when you can't even trust your own mind, who can you trust? your parents your best friends your therapist Pick one or two, and trust that person’s words over your own, against your better judgement because during these times, your judgement is impaired. The second thing to do is to reduce the number of thoughts that come to mind. Remember, the reason you have so many is because your mind is idle. Give your mind something to do. I highly encourage going out into the sun and doing some vigorous exercise. Sunlight and exercise and great ways to lift the cloud of darkness around you, for physiological reasons. Also try serious meditation retreats .or just meditation I'm home . Can make you feel present and in touch with the real world . Call a suicide prevention hotline ASAP if you feel you can't take it anymore. I hope others will give you something useful if mine wasn't useful for you . Can't much comment on the journal thing .because I'm not part of the staff here. I wish you to live a long happy life with peace in your heart . I hope you get better soon .
  19. No . I no longer need them as its clear from the title. Im finally cured. If it’s possible for people to stop taking heroin then it’s possible to stop taking antidepressants. People just have to be prepared to feel off or bad until the brain chemistry re-sets and you adapt to your new normal. many I know have come off anti-depressants and are using alternative methods to deal with their flux in moods. I came off antidepressant drugs in the beginning of last July. and doing fine using meditation, exercise, and being in nature. This is my experience, but I don't know if it may not be helpful for others. But I just shared what has worked for me . Also the meditation technique is EXTREMELY helpful and powerful. And is mandatory to cure the anxiety.
  20. i'm so happy ! i just really want to share it with someone! i have been creating my own happiness outside of other people for a while now. i've been getting to know myself and i LOVE spending time with ME! i'm so proud of what i have achieved so far and excited for the journey ahead of me. i just get these random bursts of "I LOVE MY LIFE AND MYSELF, WOO!" lol, so here i am! I'm so happy I could cry For the last two weeks I have been strangely positive about life and myself. I've been so happy at times that I could literally start crying in the middle of the street. I don't know why though, from pure happiness. For the first time in my life I can actually say that I love myself, the nature, life etc. and mean it. Mean it so badly that it makes my cry lol. I was also pretty scared that it won't last this week but it did. I am doing well. I am pretty sure that it's all the result of daily meditations, vitamins, music, cutting down on cigarettes, recent sexual experience etc. the nice stuff that I do for myself. It's incredible. I wish I could share it (transfer it) with all of you guys. Love you all ❤ ??
  21. @Razard86 exactly! What if consciousness has nothing to do with the brain? What if quantum theory and relativity amount to a load of malarkey? I think that these questions are roughly comparable, and that the answer is the same in the two cases: It’s back to the drawing board! neuroscience has no explanation of consciousness. Nor will they ever have .because they are tackling it from the wrong paradigm. So far, they really can’t. They speculate. They philosophize. They conjecture. But they don’t explain. Mainly because they still don’t have a model (descriptive or constructive) of what consciousness is. What exists is several speculative philosophical arguments, not too different from the arguments used to define beauty.
  22. Yes, exactly .. it is senseless. The whole point. It is paradoxical to a thinking mind. Not that thinking is bad .. far from it. It is like small whirlpool alongside of a river. Not that whirlpools are bad, either. ..you could frame it however you want .the point is that all these apparent paradoxes are dualistic .at the ultimate level..no self =self . There is no you =all that there is ,is you etc .all duality must break down at the ultimate level to lead to both, none, simultaneously.
