  1. There might not be "separate " self in reality .I will grant you that . But there is infinite SELF or Self with a Capital S. And that is everything that exists . You believe that the universe exists ,right ? Now let me ask you a simple tricky question..where does the universe exist ? Do you exist inside the universe or does the universe exist inside you ? If you pay attention you will notice that the entire universe takes place within your consciousness. Including your body and what we call the external world..they both exist within consciousness. Evident by if you close your eyes the universe will be gone temporarily. And if you fall asleep, the whole universe collapses . So it's clear that everything is a figment of your consciousness. I didn't find any strong counterpoint against this line of reasoning. But if you disagree..please go ahead and explain to me where I'm incorrect. Much love too ❤.
  2. No I'm not making excuses. If I had access to psychedelics I would definitely use them . But I looked and its just prohibited in all Indian cities. Even Street drugs in India, especially synthetics are always of dubious authenticity. I only have one option : buying online and getting them delivered if possible. Otherwise the only place i have a slight chance of getting something nice is Delhi or Bangalore. I looked in Mumbai ..and its absolute shit 99% of the time.
  3. Firstly, I hear that term mentioned a lot in the forum. the term “cessation.” I am personally very skeptical about the use of this term because it is not a scientific term and bears a very vague definition of itself. What is the cessation? Well, in terms of neuroscience, perhaps our minds are our cognitions or streams of consciousness, but even these terms are not defined in a quantitative sense either, so it’s really difficult to know what we’re talking about when one brings up this discussion of “cessation.” From a philosophical standpoint(which I think is the necessary one in this situation) it is likely that you are afraid of the philosophical implications of solipsism . You are simply denying it from an emotional standpoint and not from a rational standpoint. Because from a rational standpoint it is more obvious than obvious that your direct experience I'd the only thing that exists. analyze your situation. You are likely afraid that you are the only existent being within a universe that only exists within your mind, as this is the technical definition of solipsism. First, you know that you exist because you have conscious awareness of your thoughts and have logically considered what it means for other people not to exist. So we can surely agree that you exist, based on this logic. Solipsism is the only worldview that makes sense. The reason people don’t believe it is that we can infer nothing useful from it. It’s a one-stop deadend.
  4. OK I'm almost spamming the forum with my posts..I promise this will be the last one for today ?..but I just noticed a decline in the quality of the posts on this subforum recently..so i thought why not elevate the quality a little bit . So recently as I said many times I'm experiencing insane levels of happiness and satisfaction with my life .I shared some of the reasons already. So I don't want to repeat myself. But here I want to talk about my meditation habit .I meditate 1 hour everyday in the morning. I just simply watch the blank space between thoughts. And that's it . That's all it takes to calm down your monkey mind chatter and relax and enjoy the present moment. Because that's all there is to do in life . I mean imagine you have so much free time ..what the fuck are you gonna do with your life? Yes you can try this and that ..but at the end of it all you will be back to baseline and bored. So all that is left is to just bask in being and chill out on nothing. When you feel your life is nothing but noise, you create some spaces in between so it becomes music. When you have been driving and driving, it is good to take a break and stretch your legs, to relax. To balance your incessant doing with some not-doing. It is like taking a rest on the beach, taking in the scene of the vast ocean rather than to always be fighting with the waves. The best reason to meditate is to have no reason at all. Why do you need one? It is true that a beginner always needs to be convinced by the way of some reason. It may work in the beginning, but any reason is too narrow and your mind can come up with as many as it likes. But meditation is more like an adventure, it is more about getting used to facing the unexpectedness of life than having a specific reason to be on one.
  5. Who is the happiest man in the world ?? I claim that meditation is the very first thing you gotta do to get out of depression and sadness and anxiety. I cured my anxiety using a simple meditation technique (watching the space between thoughts) and since then I'm preaching about it on the forums . The reason it works is because when you are caught up in anxiety you're overthinking about the past and the future. And meditation blocks your thoughts from racing into the past and the future and makes you grounded in the present moment.
  6. Then why are you not having it? (If it's not too personal for you to answer).
  7. You DO see from my eyes. "I" am you in the body called "me." "You" are me in the body here called "you." We are each other. All of humanity is each other. All of life is each other. We perceive "you" and "me" as separate individuals because we equate ourselves with our consciousness and consciousness-as-experienced is individualized. consider.. When a single cell splits into 2 cells, which cell is the original cell and which is the "new" cell? Think about the 10 trillion cells that make up your body. Which one of those is the original fertilized egg, the original "you"?
  8. I actually want to move to the US. But I couldn't figure out my way to the Green Card yet .
  9. Let's just say that it can be real, but how you can you tell if it is real or not? With the things we know, we can not say if it is real or not. Maybe if we discover the limits of the conscience or how to disguise between 2 consciences then we would know if is only one conscience living at the same time in all the beings, or many consciences. we have no direct experience with the external world; that the entire realm of conscious experience happens internally, within our…er, I mean, within your own mind. That seems to be a pretty indisputable observation. But that would also appear to make it impossible, in a very fundamental way, to prove that anything independent of one’s own mind exists at all. And so, along with that realization comes the rather provocative idea that maybe stuff..other minds, or maybe just everything external to your own mind doesn’t actually exist. Now if you’ll allow me to wax nihilistic for a moment: So what? I (you) can neither prove nor disprove any solipsistic state of being. So whether or not solipsism is an accurate description of the actual state of affairs (or if there even is an actual state of affairs to describe) doesn’t appear to make a whit of difference in how I interface with the external world, be it real or imagined. So I may as well go about my business assuming the reality of whatever philosophical ism makes me most contented.
  10. You should've kept that a secret.
  11. I have repeated this over the months .I can't have access to ANY psychedelic (including mushrooms) in India because they are banned and illegal. The only option for me is via the dark Web. And I obviously don't want to put myself in legal problems . There is not even weed dealers where I live .so imagine how tough it is to find more potent psychedelics.
  12. Thanks for the response brother . Im just curious..how do you know you are not deluded? What guarantees that you are not falling into epistemic error? Is there an objective instrument that defines what is true and what is false? Or is truth purely subjective? And so we have 7 billion different "truths ".
  13. When does it generate suffering and when does it not ? Where do you draw the line ? Yeah you could think up a million ways of different ways of suffering. Like being eaten alive ,burning with fire ,drowning in the sea and suffocating etc. I would like to make a note ..that Thinking these thoughts (and imagining how you gonna die and the possibility of dying a very painful death) is the biggest cause of psychological suffering. The actual percentage of suffering in our life usually is so small but the mind makes a big deal out of everything and exaggerate things . So as long as you have a home to sleep in ,access to food and water and hygiene..then you are blessed. And you don't need anything else. But the mind always craves for more .that also is another cause of suffering.
  14. its actually only in the ego-mind that we suffer at all. Suffering can't touch the absolute. Only when you're identified as a separate individual. .every tough situation is a lesson to learn so we can do it better next time. but instead of preparing for future we regret the past thus not prepare for next opportunity at all… and as a result we suffer again. not because we're not lucky but because we aint prepared. I think that its good to be prepared but not get the opportunity rather than having an opportunity but not prepared at all. Also ,a question came to mind: do you distinguish between Suffering and pain ? They say the latter is inevitable but the first is optional .
  15. Be free from what exactly? "To escape suffering, you gotta immerse yourself in suffering "?
  16. Not before you tell me who pissed on your soup this morning. You haven't yet
  17. What is meant by God? How do you know that reality is designed and not just randomly pops out of nowhere by mere chance ? Seems impossible? In a way it is ..but how is anything possible in the first place ? Anyways..get to the rock bottom of the free will question..we shouldn't gloss over the notion of "you " .
  18. @Razard86 chillax bro. This is Internet forum. Nothing serious goin' on here . No WWIII. Just some random dudes mentally masturbating over stuff and spiritually bypassing ontological metaphysical superficial controversy ?
  19. Hmmm . . . no. There can be intellectual understanding, understanding of labels in relation to other labels. And from such labeling thinking mind can narrate, to itself and others, stories of “intellectual awakening”, “spiritual awakening”, “science fiction”, “adam and eve”, “Me and My Life”, etc, etc. There are many degree and levels of awakening. Its not a binary on & off switch (you're either awake or full of shit ) I would agree though, that ultimately, at its core, awakening involves awakening to mind and from mind. Awakening from the very seemingly real illusion, “I am me”. There is no relation between the intellect and spiritual awakening of the person. It is all Nature or God's play. Who becomes what is all part of God's play. A low intellect can become enlightened or an high intellect can become enlightened. There is no pattern. Whatever you resonate with .Whatever makes you happy dude .leave me the fuck alone ?
  20. Thanks for sharing. I think The value of intellectual realisations should not be diminished. They are signs that the false ‘solidity’ is starting to crumble, that ignorance is reducing. If these occur they can be anything from joyful to very disturbing for a while. Partial realisations can be disturbing existentially. I’ve had this. I suddenly knew intellectually that the classic object/mind model could not possibly be true but I didn’t have an alternative (after all it was intellectual.) I remained in intellectual existential crisis for years regarding that point
  21. @Holykael what makes you think that you have no free will?
