  1. But you are not living by yourself in a cave somewhere aren't you? You live within a society. And as long as that is the case you are forced by social obligations. Welcome to survival 101. So how can you engage in survival and remain uncorrupted spiritually?
  2. Disagree I think It’s axiomatic that enlightened people do not suffer. Things can hurt, but there is no suffering. Explaining how this can happen is explaining enlightenment. There is body, there is mind, and there is pure awareness. Normal people identify with one or more of these things. The enlightened do not identify as any of them. You can strip an enlightened person of any of them and there would be little to no distress. Suffering is when you identify with pain or loss. So if you have body identification, and you lose your hand, you are suffering because you felt a sense of loss. An enlightened person would simply carry on life learning how to get by without one of his hands. His brain might still generate feelings of pain from the act of losing the hand and such, but because he’s not identifying with his mind either, he doesn’t perceive the pain as anything more than just pain.
  3. Then enlightenment is not worth the hustle? The Buddha's main teaching was how to eliminate suffering. The Hindus say you are Sat-Chit-Ananda..meaning existence, awareness, bliss. Jesus talks about the kingdom of heaven. What are you basing your claim on that enlightened people suffer? You misunderstood me. I mean you care more about eliminating suffering than merely understanding it.
  4. Aren't awakening supposed to be the most desirable thing in the world? What do you really care about? Isn't it the cessation of suffering and gaining lasting happiness? If awakening does not make you happy and turns your life into pure joy, then, really, what's the point?
  5. I think there are two levels.. For the ego there is always suffering. Even when you sit perfectly alone in silence you feel bored. The ego is always dissatisfied with whatever is going on. On the other side your "true self" is pure indifferent awareness. It doesn't give a Dam about your health or who annoyed you in the world today. It just exists. It just is. Unattached. What do you think?
  6. Go put your hands on hot stove for just a few seconds and see whether you care more about understanding suffering or getting rid of it.
  7. Lol what do you mean? No !
  8. Yeah Leo she is nuts lol there was one incident where she basically called for me from my bedroom and tried to force me into sex. She then started demanding that I "get hard" and started threating to "torture" me by squeezing on my genitals. I've tried to explaining to her that I'm not like a light switch that can get turned on just because she tells me to but she doesn't listen. But Honestly. I'm sexually, emotionally and psychologically attached to this girl. I already consider it a miracle that I found her. Would be very difficult to find another sexually open minded girl here. I simply told I literally can not have sex in the quantity she wants. I told her literally that, look, guys' dicks stop functioning after ejaculating frequently lol.
  9. I’m in a situation I’m sure most men think they would love. What could be better than your girlfriend wants to have sex all the time. She is a self-proclaimed sex addict. When I say all the time, I'm saying that if work and college wasn't an issue, she would want sex 3-4 times a day. I simply don’t have time for this, nor the sexual appetite. At first, I didn’t think her behavior was strange. This is my first adult relationship, we were in love and we had sex all the time. It was great. But now it’s been a little over 2 months. I've since moved out into my own apartment. She stays with me on the weekends. Her sexual appetite doesn’t seem to slow down. Even after all this time my girlfriend wants to have sex all the time. There have been times when I've gone to work sleep deprived because she wakes me up in the middle of the night for more sex. Not even masturbating right after has helped. It's even worse when it's that time of the month.
  10. I remember leo posting something in his blog a while ago about immortality. I'm Paraphrasing here "the key to immortality is being so present that you can not die". Or something from this ilk. And I had this insight today as I was struggling with my daily dose of existential crisis around fear of death.. what is death? Iike literally what the fuck is death? Enough fooling around, what is it? And I Contemplated this using direct experience. Not using logic.. Or dichotomies.. Or human knowledge etc But from a first-person direct approach.. Death is literally ... "Something bad that is going to happen to you in the future"..that's it. And what exactly is that? A thought happening now. Nothing more. Eh? You might say "yeah but of course im going to die someday"... No!.. you don't know that. Forget about all your buts and ofcourses. Death is in the future. There is no future or yesterday. Quite literally. I realized that If firmly grasp the significance of this insight it would make me immortal. Now this is not possible without losing my mind a little bit and becoming insane in a sense. Because That's the only thing that makes me afraid of death.. Is the cultural societal brainwashing that death is a real thing. @Leo Gura am I on the right track here? Or am I losing my goddam mind?
  11. I tried telling her nicely. She didn't believe me . She thought that I'm joking and in the worst case scenario that I'm cheating on her (sleeping around with other women). I know I'm not responsible for her lack of understanding but she is pretty immature I should say and have false expectations about men . Im not freaking stallion to bang her every other day . it may be that she needs physical touch as a reassurance that I'm still into her . What do you mean?
  12. @axiom "you seem to be words on a screen" ?
  13. @Gesundheit2 the deads are keeping quit about it to not spoil the surprise. ?
  14. I will be the first one to purchase it once once its finished. @Gesundheit2 nuance is like love-making .whereas you just say "fuck it ".
  15. Really? Is that a full fledged "evidence "? I fear the boogeyman under my bed ..does that make the boogeyman real ? Look, there is absolute and relative perspectives regarding death . And I can jump between them easily . But you seem to only be "paradigm-locked "(I know you like to use this term) to one perspective. The relative one . From the relative perspective..death and life are real, and never an illusion. We have a conscious body and we will die. This is a basic fact of life . Death means the physicality is disappearing and being disintegrated into dust. If you believe there exists a kind of omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient life force within the physical body(God), then after death, this life force will go on to create another, and then another temporarily popping up and then dissipating life form. So life and death are two faces of the same coin, or the two phases of the cyclical changes between physicality or consciousness mechanism in all the sentient beings. Well first of all ..im skeptical that death is even real in the first place ..and I made this thread just to point out that .but if we assume death is real as its the common belief we've been brainwashed with ..then yeah ..I can imagine suffocating to death for example and compare it with being burned alive .and I would choose the first one .
  16. Glad you are healthy. If I'm guessing it correctly..you're getting older and you feel like the end is close(correct me if I'm wrong)..? Well ..all I can say is that death either doesn't exist or its the best thing ever . If we cease to exist then we can truly rest in peace. Don't you really enjoy sleeping soundly? I believe death is an eternal sleep.or if there is a separate God, he is certainly not an evil mofo ..he doesn't have hell and punishment. Stay well ?.
  17. I'm not sure if this poetic or actual.. But in case it's for real..I'm really sorry to hear that man ...tell me if I can help you in any way ..please PM me if you need any assistance of any kind .
  18. So are you saying that all fear boils down to fear of death? I personally fear pain more than death . If I was to choose between pulling my eyes out with a razor or dying i would definitely choose dying . Leo has an amazing episode about the social matrix . Basically 99% of our current worldview is shaped by society. Wether it's religious indoctrination or school or the media etc.. And death is one of the firm beliefs in the matrix . But once you unhook yourself outside the matrix .you see it for what it is .a belief. It is a question of perspective.. If we consider just our own life in its physical form and from our experience, the world eternal might not sound too comfortable.. However if you have access, wisdom and the willingness to look beyond the physical, all life is inter connected and eternal. Yes we might popup and popout for some time depending on the physical form we take. It might sound a little heavy but for millions of years, life in any which form has sustained its coherence and continuity amongst all creatures, be it animate or inanimate. Because we get so engrossed in our limited experience of body and mind, we tend to experience life in a very limited way. But yes, if you keenly observe beyond mind and body with tools available in meditation and spirituality, an eternal life is throbbing in all forms of creation in a very beautiful, inter dependant way.
  19. False. Im totally alive and not dead .and I'm not hallucinating anything. There is only life appearing as whatever it wants to . @Gesundheit2 give me one single evidence that death is real . And no ,others dying isn't an evidence that you gonna die . You can see people dying in a dream .yet the death of you in a dream means you just wake up to reality. Similarly, your mom could die and that doesn't prove you will die . When it's your turn ,you will just transform into the next life . nothing really stops. Energy carries on. It is more akin to a caterpillar shedding its covering and turning into a butterfly than an actual death or stop. Energy changes but it does not stop or end.
  20. An animal doesn't fear death . It has no concept of death . It feels pain .so that's why the antelope runs away from the lion .not because it fears death. But because it fears the pain of shedding their flesh apart by the lions mouth . So no ,I think the only reason we fear death is how its been portrayed in our society and especially by religion (the idea of Eternal hell )etc. If we investigate what death actually is ..we discover easily that death is a belief .it doesn't require awakening. It doesn't require Einstein's intelligence. It's easy to see through it .
  21. No. I found it . Here it is..https://www.actualized.org/insights/absolute-presence-immortality
  22. Agree . The moment of catching your last breaths is the very moment you come crying out of a woman's womb.
  23. Haha stop playing these silly games .
