Karma is BS. There are innocent people suffering and being tortured without any purpose at all. Cause and effect is an illusion anyway. -

If it doesn't work for everybody, then maybe it is not a solution, nor an answer. -

With all due respect for Leo's work and other's perseverance to bring peace to this world, but how does this "everything is your imagination" mindset actually help people suffering if they can't meditate or have psychedelic trips in a chill environment? There are people who have shitty lives and have no place to live, with debilitating diseases or mental issues... don't tell me that this is happening because of karma or thoughts. I'm trying to figure out why bad things happen, this can't be just a dream. -

I hate seeing people suffer. If I become enlightened and see people having miserable lives, it makes me feel miserable too. -

Lol what about bad lives vs bad trips? -

I'm aware that I have a lot to learn but how does death reconcile with selflessness if it is imaginary? I want everyone to become enlightened, stop suffering and find forgiveness. -

Yeah dude, but what happens when a human dies? You said that you will see the dual world that you see right now (to see you need to have sight). Riddles aren't helpful. In fact, no one knows what the heck happens, all are just assumptions. -

Well they are part of me and I'm part of everything that exists. The inside/outside are just perspectives, nothing is actually separate. In order for you to exist, there has to be tiny forms of consciousness/matter existing in their trivial reality. I make no distinction between matter and consciousness, though the definitions might differ. For me consciousness is simply space time. When we die, we become stillness again. The future is made of things moving/transforming ie physical world, otherwise there would be no time. I'm in the future, past and present awareness. From my perspective, you shift according to everything. And I don't agree... it exists there for an eternity. If you acknowledged its existence, then you can't say that it doesn't exist anymore just because it's not in your sight anymore. -

Not sure what would you expect to hear, an echo chamber of your own beliefs? If thoughts or subjective experiences aren't an explanation, then why do you contradict yourself? -

Thanks for sharing that video, it was interesting but I need time to reflect on the concepts - not that they are foreign to me but some of them didn't make sense. But I will watch it again in case I missed something. As for the matter outside mind, this is not my interpretation. It appears to be outside or separate but body and mind are basically the same to me. The chemical processes in the brain ARE thoughts or dreams or whatever, so I see no distinction between matter and subjective experience, though we obviously perceive matter in a finite space-time. My point is that we can't experience infinity as it cannot be perceived by the finite mind/being. So in order to exist, the infinity is split into these finite manifestations/forms of matter. Quantum mechanics is a little bit weird but it doesn't imply that there is no matter, only that matter (let's call it Schrodinger's cat) exists in a superposition. If you're interested to hear a scientific explanation on the "many worlds" theory, please watch the video from my previous post as it could answer to the "tree" dilemma (obviously, it's just a theory that I subscribe to and nothing more). -

Then what are you? Are you just a thought, or a chain reactions happening between bits of matter/consciousness transforming in a space-time reality? If you think that you are just a thought, then I guess I'm just having a pseudo interaction with a fictional character. I doubt that's the case tho. What I said was that I need no proof that the walls in my room are solid. This awareness comes from my direct experience with the matter itself, through bodily senses, sight, perception, sound, thoughts etc. And the current scientific explanations provide enough evidence/data that work, I did not find other satisfying explanations yet. If you don't think matter is real, then the tree exists only in your imagination. Period. What answer would you expect to hear if everything is just paradigm? Please watch the video from my previous post. There are different interpretations, nothing is certain. That doesn't mean that matter is a hallucination. There could be infinite realities where "you" could be that tree and the tree could be "you" watching it. That doesn't reject the existence of that tree. The definition of consciousness is highly debated but I tend to take the panpsychist approach and say that everything has a degree of consciousness (self awareness is another thing). To me, all the matter is conscious and exists in multiple forms that are interconnected. These interactions create our space time reality. So I don't reject matter because it creates my reality. Even if I dream stupid coconuts healing my body, they're still part of my reality so I'm not rejecting that either. -

I'm talking about the physical reality/present moment, not about the fundamental reality. We can't experience everything at once because we are finite. That's why classical physics still work for our macroscopic world. If there are no particle interactions then there is nothing and thoughts would make no sense. Maybe you will give this video a try when you have time, of course if you want to. We also work according to the physical laws of nature, what makes you think that you're not made of matter? I don't need proof that things are solid as long as I'm not able to walk through walls lol. So current scientific explanations make perfect sense. If you have any other better explanation, then I would like to hear it. Thoughts don't create reality, as far as I can tell. -

I see no reason why I would think that particles are imaginary as I know from direct experience that matter does exist. Everything that you interact with exists, everything is interconnected. There's no such thing as "I didn't see it, it doesn't exist". Even though you can't see your future, it still exists... you are just not there yet. -

Physical world is made of particles, what are you talking about? -
Member replied to Inliytened1's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I am aware of particles lol, otherwise I wouldn't be able to experience anything at all. -

An observer doesn't change reality, all the possible worlds could exist in a quantum position (tree fell/didn't fell/you see the tree standing/on the ground). We are no different than a tree. We could be dead or alive or doing some weird shit in another reality. Nothing collapses, everything exists. We have no choice. -

If everything is within awareness, then the tiniest particle should be aware in order to exist. Reality doesn't need a reason to exist, it just simply is. Thoughts are not necessary. -

Are you sure that brain is just a thought and not something physical? Why do you replace objective reality with thoughts? -
Member replied to Inliytened1's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If thoughts exist, does a brain exist? -

Thanks for sharing I guess you must be a saint if you experience this 80% of the time because this sounds like some advanced stuff... and I guess it takes years of practice to reach to that level. Only a few times in my life I guess that I was able to feel something similar but it humbled me so much that I felt more like a ghost walking among humans. Lol. I will try to meditate more then as my mind is truly savage (last night I dreamed that a coconut did some magic to heal my body, so yeah, even though sometimes it's funny, other times it is not ). -

Do you think there's a way to shut down bodily senses such as meditation and experience ego death? And what would be the purpose of this, after all? I mean, we die anyway. Would that make us suffer less? -

Do you experience oneness all the time, or it's just one of the thoughts that arise in the consciousness? I guess that these kind of experiences are not common or permanent and you still feel 'you' in your daily life. -

When I'm looking in the mirror, I see an alien on the other side. It stares into my eyes and makes similar movements. Yet we can't shake hands. Is that my image or there's some weird entity trapped on the other side of the mirror? -
Member replied to Preetom's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
What are you if not your body? The self awareness makes you recognize your image in the mirror, while consciousness could have many definitions. I agree that consciousness could be expanded to many things but not everything has self awareness. -

@Preetom So do you think that the body consciousness has nothing to do with our material bodies? For example, can you transcend the actual form or bodily functions through meditation or mind altering substances? From my perspective, our body is intelligent enough to know when to wake up and keep the heart beating without any conscious effort, so we could say that body has its own consciousness without being self aware.
