  1. From my experience ratios definitely can have a significant affect on energy levels and general state of being. This ratio is usually represented as a percentage of calories from each macronutrient. Carbs (%) / Fat (%) / Protein (%) Diets high in fat make me feel slightly more sedentary and heavy, they also slow down my digestion. Fat is twice as calorically dense at carbs or protein by weight so the percentage can become a lot quite easily Carbs are ideal and should make the majority of your ratio in my opinion, gives me more energy and mental clairty. This is all with respect to a plant based whole food diet. 80/10/10 (C/F/P) is generally considered a good ratio to aim for, Doug graham has a very interesting book where he recommends this ratio.
  2. So I am somewhat confused in the face of the overwhelming evidence that humans may indeed be frugivores by design, meaning a creature that is designed for a diet based around fruits and leafy greens. Also there seems to be a serious lack of evidence to suggest that we are actually omvinvorous, something everyone takes for granted as being the truth. Just because we can eat something doesnt mean it is optimal or natural in anyway. I have been eating a fruit based diet for over a year now and do feel very good on it, it seems to make so much sense aswell. Fruit is the only food that is appealing to us in its raw natural state, it is proven to be the most digestible food for humans and it meets out specific nutrient needs very well. Im curious what others have come to on this conclusion? I am genuinely in search of the truth on this matter so I can align my lifestyle and diet with it. Here is some evidence, but do your own research and let me know what you think:
  3. watermelon juice is my favourite at the moment. super refreshing and delicious. any sort of fruit and vegetable juices and very healthy and taste great too.
  4. needing to be right is a big one, an ego need for feeling powerful. Also needing affection or love and needing attention.
  5. @LfcCharlie4 Thanks for the useful insights, i will follow those links and investigate further! also i feel i overlooked the social aspect of cardio so what you said got some cogs turning.
  6. i just signed up the gym recently and am on a raw vegan diet. It seems the default body type without strength training is quite lean, i dont feel thats a problem however because that to me is a more natural body. Eat bananas for quality carbs after working out, also dates are good for a quick hit after tearing muscle to aid recovery faster. Stay hydrated, citrus juices are also great for you muscles. Tropical fruits are generally 5% of calories from protein which many bodybuilders and other gym goers would consider horrific however it has been proven many times you can still gain muscle with these levels of protein and be in optimal levels of health. There is some science to show however that slightly higher protein intakes of around 10% are probably even better for people serious in gaining muscle and performing at an athletic level.
  7. Ive recently become increasingly interested in meditation and have been practicing religiously for the past 2 months (usually between 20-50 minutes a day) So far I've been just simply observing and becoming aware of awareness and what is happening in the moment i.e thoughts, sounds, feelings etc. and occasionally using the breath or the sounds to ground me and break my attactchment to the thoughts im thinking. Im curious as to people experiences with various techniques and their effects/uses? Also any inspiration or advice would be greatly appreciated, i aim to begin going deeper with my practice
  8. Im curious as to what sort of exercise regime in and out of the gym would be conducive to reaching high levels of physical health? Currently i feel that a mix of low to moderate weight training 3-4 times a week, focussing on compound exercises, body awareness and correct form/breathing. Alongside a mix of enjoyable cardio pursuits such as cycling, running, walking, swimming etc. With sufficient time and quality rest with YOGA or stretching excercies to aid recovery. Im not intrested in purely aesthetics or bodybuilding as i feel it to be quite a vanity trap and harmful to spiritual growth.
  9. I recently read this very interesting article on the ability for chlorophyll (the compound that makes green vegetables green) to allow us to generate energy from the sunlight on our skin, much like the process of photosynthesis which is created by the chlorophyll in the first place. Have a read and tell me what you think:
  10. over the past 6 months in my pursuit of true health I've been inquiring about what is the healthiest diet for humans and I've come to believe that raw veganism and more specifically a low-fat high-carb fruit based diet could be the healthiest diet for humans? My main sources of information on this diet comes from a variety of you tubers who embrace this lifestyle swell as people I've met and spend time with: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEX8Ox5RVs3iVH51eceNMqA https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe2XcRqNNRbkcbzC71s8DIw https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiYu1fdvvT7_oMtR825184w https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-aAXny9WURneqNNIf9GjpA https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMBK0TKv8M8EY5V_XlnS8yw There is a lot of people onto a similar way of thinking and experiencing this lifestyle for themselves. A lot of theorising and pseudo-science involved in the reasoning behind why it is ideal for us. much of which makes total sense, such as it fitting our physiology as frugivores and fruit being the only truly attractive food for humans in its raw natural state, etc, etc I live in the tropics and here we have an abundance of high quality fresh tropical fruits year round, many people come here for the "fruity lifestyle" and also feel this way of eating to be incredibly nourishing and ideal. I feel however that in any experiment and truth seeking we must have a balance between skepticism and curious open mindedness, hence the ultimate test is eating this way and seeing how i feel. I've been eating this way for about 2 months now; ripe tropical fruit monomeals as my caloric staple along with occasional salads and raw veggies. How i feel: I would say that my energy levels were initially very high, accompanied by euphoria and a high mood. Now my energy levels are generally very stable and consistent throughout the day. My senses seem slightly more acute, particularly sense of smell my cognitive performance is very high skin has cleared up a lot and feels softer to touch My mind feels more clear like there is less brain fog i feel more sensitive and unable to sedate or comfort myself wit these foods digestion is flawless i appreciate and enjoy eating this food a lot! These are simply my subjective findings and my experience thus far, im curious if anyone else has eaten a raw vegan or fruit based diet for sometime and how they feel about it? How did it affect your conciousness and physical health? is it sustainable? etc
