I think that New York is a melting pot shit hole, but I also think there’s no better place to spend your 20s

I had high hopes for the US given all the movies I watched as a kid, turns out it’s a pretty sucky place now that I’m here. Why would so many people want to live here? It’s full of bums, unhinged weirdos causing ruckus (not talking about all Americans, or Americans in general, some of them are foreigners), It’s super expensive and filthy, there’s so much police and police activity that it makes the air denser to breathe, New york in particular is such an obnoxious place, people are super unhelpful and on edge, I thought this shit was supposed to be Europe-certified walkable, you can’t even walk from the airport to the city, the women are beautiful sure but most of them are not even American, they’re European and Asian. I would imagine London to be the same if not worse because of all the rain fall, you can’t comfortably use your phone on the street because 3000 phones are stolen everyday. You need to grip your phone or hold it like a dick head because your country sucks. Luckily the brits have some quality countries right next door while the Americans have more shit countries around them. The US is just focused on bringing as much Mexicans, Chinese, and Indians to enjoy this dysfunctional shit show with them. These 1st world countries are like triple AAA video games, full of crap, while small indie countries have much better living conditions. The more I live the more I realize that my mother in all her godly ignorance was right about a lot of things. The fact that I wasn’t comfortable wearing my watch around these people is proof these are failed societies. Andrew Tate is right. Don’t get me started on Texas and Western America, the reason yall are so fat is because your government doesn’t know how to make a side walk, I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.

Croatia is a tiny country lacking opportunity, life and vigor my man. Besides, It’s no fun to stay in your home country, not to mention home city. I’ve gained a certain respect and liking for Croatia in the recent years, but I know It’s not for me. There’s a lot of bullshit in America that doesn’t exist in Europe, If I was maybe 1% different I probably wouldn’t move here. Croatia is still a solid choice. Perhaps I’ll move back to Europe after I (most certainly) cry tears of pain here. Zagreb is the worst part of Croatia. It’s Dalmatia and the Istrian peninsula that are worth a buck. There’s a certain nuance, appreciation and complexity gained after living in multiple countries and cities around the world. Which seems to be something I’m naturally interested in.

Okay I like some things about new york but I also hate some other things, I hate the frequent smell of weed on every corner, I hate how every second person looks like a junkie, sure the homeless people are there but I’m talking about the average joe in New York, I expected to like the gangster/hustler culture but turns out I hate it. The city is dirty, I wasn’t expecting white Americans/White American women to be extinct here. It’s mostly just Mexicans, and foreigners who don’t know a single word of English. Now when I listen to Jay Z, ASAP Rocky and Rihanna I can’t help but see these people as just NY junkies. I’m going to guess that Chicago is similar, so I’m not going there. What city should I visit next? I also hate how drugs are openly sold here on the street, 24/7 I like the NYU students, and American teens, but NYU is just surrounded by more trash sniffing, drug selling junkies, and I haven’t even been assaulted by any of these people, I just don’t like their existence and presence here. Miami? Vegas? Texas? Maybe somewhere in California? I’m a frequent driver in Europe but I would never dare to drive in this city.

Tbh Idk if cold approaching is even that good of an option, I think joining a club or group of some kind and going out with them is probably better. Girls are kinda resistant to strangers approaching them, plus I’m not sure if I like the time where I’m scouting out single girls on campus / park. She has to meet a basic criteria like be under 25 and 5’7<, and of course reasonably cute. Also, as soon as she has similar interests, you hit the jackpot. I just met a girl who’s into jazz and tanning, so I just left at that point.

Y’know I changed my mind, I was In a bad neighborhood in Jersey, NYC is actually pretty good, especially for dating. But I don’t see myself growing old and having kids here. I’m still in NYC, I’m glad I didn’t leave. I didn’t even book a room, I shower in the city for cheap and sleep at the airport every night 😝 Sometimes I see a girl, approach her and we have 3AM airport conversations.

We have a word here in Croatia, for a person who doesn't really care about anything, doesn't try, and is locally known as a failure. Klošar, which translates to ''bum'' in English. There are so many people out there who don't even try and yet they're successful in many areas, like relationships. So sometimes I sit and ponder, how is it that my marihuana addicted friend back from high school, who dropped out, is dating so many more women than me? Sometimes I think it's the height difference, or despite being his best friend in high school he still has way more friends than me, and I'm here having a nervous breakdown every day because I haven't dated anyone in over 2 years now, and the loneliness is killing me. These days, I just find myself driving aimlessly all day and all night to help ease the pain. I can't stand the fact that there are many people out there who don't suffer from loneliness, and who have great relationships and all. While I suffer from it greatly. Has anyone else seen the romance content on social media these days? It's unbearable to watch and to know that such couples exist right next door. Just more room for another addiction to develop, perhaps pills or drugs because life is so lonely and stressful.

It makes sense to me, that everything begins with awareness, without awareness we are like animals, unable to have balance or deny ourselves pleasure, recently I've been struggling with addiction more than I usually do and every dream seems so far away when you're in the slums of it. I figured I would just try to be more aware of my thoughts and actions, and super aware of where each action leads down the line. When I engage in my addictions that's when awareness usually goes away, and I start running on auto-pilot. But it's very difficult to stay in this mindful/aware state all day long because everything is pulling on my awareness and attention. Any thoughts?
