  1. @Lisa Ann nice name
  2. Its because I'm really fucking conflicted about my life purpose
  3. My thread "Artists aren't as impactful as engineers, People don't care about Art", is just clickbait honestly, It was my unconscious intention to get your options about a life purpose I've been conflicted on pursuing, Stage Red cartoons. Leo said "Reducing life to pure utility -- that's your mistake" I'm obsessed with Romance, Violence & bitter sweet cartoons. I've never liked movies, but for some reason I always loved Cartoons. It started 14 years ago, I remember loving and watching Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network all day long: Adventure time, fairly odd parents, Avatar the last airbender, Korra, Rick & Morty etc... I started watching at the age of 5 and stopped watching 7 years later because people convinced me it was wrong watching Cartoons at 12, I was "too old for them" and "It effected me negatively" That's what my family said at least, so I quit watching because I was so young and naive listening to what other people said, at 17 I started watching again. but It was different this time, I wasn't watching cartoons for children like before. I started watching romantic, violent, lots of heavy emotions, death, pain & of course bitter sweet endings cartoons. its extremely specific so I understand If you don't get it. Maybe You've seen some of these cartoons yourself here is a couple of them: 1. Attack On Titan 2. 86 (Eighty-Six) 3. Chainsaw man (Manga) 4. Berserk 5. Demon Slayer 6. Monster Ultimately the problem is, I love this shit. and I want to make cartoons like that myself. But I don't really know if its Important to the world, I must contribute to life somehow. And I don't know how to do that effectively with this stage red medium.
  4. It's such masterful storytelling, characters face truly difficult situations, TRUE HARDSHIP. Last episode is a really good example of that (season 4 part 2 episode 10) Connie and Armin literally have to kill their friends to save the world. Most anime and novels are straight up trash, those writers don't truly challenge the heroes. There has to be a serious potential of death in storytelling, otherwise you lose interest in it because you already know everybody survives, which just isn't realistic. Peope die in war, it's unrealistic for everybody to survive. And the way characters die is also important, I am so fucking tired of those slow deaths, where characters get to say a couple of words before they die. That's not realistic either, peope in war die in brutal ways, not by slowly bleeding out to death. Chainsaw man is even better than attack on titan, and it's about to get it's own animation. It's about devils vs humans vs half devil half humans, the main character dies in the first episode. He gets saved by his pet devil. The story has 3 main characters (protagonists) 2 die at the end, it has 2 antagonists: both of them get brutally murdered by a chainsaw. That's realism. That's masterful storytelling.
  5. Bro you can't say something so outrageous and not elaborate on it, have you seen how brutal it can be? I have a feeling your not being serious
  6. Given that the the modern world is mostly stage blue, I don't think stage red stories would be useful to society. That's being sort of optimistic. 1. That's a Great tip, will do. 2. Creativity? Courage and adventurousness? Those are red?? I don't know about that one.
  7. Hxh is way broader than anything I listed above so it's hard to say, it's a little less consistent. I'd say mostly green with red and blue characters. See, Gon's ultimate goal isn't so great in the first place, his whole mission was to meet his asshole dad. Funny enough, I had the same thoughts on Hunter x hunter, I ended up quitting it midway through, I came back later and actually enjoyed it that time. Code glass haven't watched, will give it a watch tho, I have really high standards for cartoons so I don't think I'll like it ? Death note is red, that's all. I liked that one as well. Main character is pretty abusive of his powers. Although really smart.
  8. So much heavy emotions, it makes you cry instantly.
  9. Completely unrelated to this thread, but I watched 15 minutes of that trump interview, clicked pause and a this video popped up Its Mark!
  10. Of course, because Art can't really influence or manipulate objects nor can it do anything physically, the only object it can provide value to is your mind (I guess) It's interesting how Art can't help a Rabbit in the wild, but can help you with... something... Rabbits don't draw, but humans have been drawing for millions of years, which makes me think that even the lowest of the low, the least developed humans like Neanderthals actually saw something in it. they still did it even with their limited equipment / stones. Alright so what are your examples of Art providing you with something valuable, I bet you're going to struggle with expressing it tangibly, but try your best. My guess is that Art makes you feel different, not necessary good but different. But that can't be all, if that's all then Art isn't anything special and by that I mean it doesn't differ from many other things in life. I'm not claiming anything, just "freestyling it" Post Novels or anime, or even western Cartoons /films of course everything from Music to documentaries is also welcome, anything that was made by someone, you would consider an Artist.
  11. sculptors are about to make a lot of money, $1000000 for a Putin's head
  12. Maybe read some books on Simplicity, modesty & minimalism. After I did so I started to value having less stuff and quite enjoyed being frugal and modest with my money. A lot of the times I forget to eat because I have no desire for material possessions. I haven't bought any clothes since I was 13. Fasting is easy and comes naturally, especially when I'm traveling. 24h fast is nothing
  13. I've read a couple of articles and watched some videos about Art and Engineering while also reading Biographies about people who we're really good in those fields. I think I need both, the thing I've been struggling with is: I love the impact technical and scientific people make on the world, but I hate being technical and dealing with stupid complexity all the time. I knew that already, but yesterday I started feeling differently about Art, I can see the point of it but also its flaws. Art doesn't make a tangible enough impact while engineering does (for me), Engineering without Art... the best way I can put it now, feels like a dry sponge without any juice or water in it. now the challenge is, how do I merge those two with my life purpose. Engineering alone is too technical, dry and I'm afraid of becoming the person who thinks about solving math problems all day Art is not tangible enough to put it plainly, the difference it makes is too conceptual and theoretical for me to lay down in my bed at the end of the day and say... Yup today I made a big difference. I always questioned the actual value of my advice, even when the person thanks me for it. I always thought, what if that advice was just a placebo effect and the person I gave it to is just bullshitting himself into thinking it made them grow? I watched a video about a guy who started making Bionic legs for disabled children and thought to myself: I would never question the impact something like that makes, that's the type of difference I want to make in the world. I'm only stage orange entering into green, so I'm closer to a monkey than a sage, and that's probably why. A monkey is more likely to feel happy that he gave a banana to another monkey then a monkey feeling happy that he gave Wisdom to another monkey. Art and Engineering; Both fill each others gaps and therefore I decided I'm going to do my best to be involved in both. Thanks everyone
  14. Your personal bias/the bias of SD Orange. I can see that for sure, I'm definitely bias. but I'm trying to understand and move up a stage, but I don't know how. many times I even struggle to understand how Leo's work is important, the only difference is that is resonates with me intellectually, but emotionally I could never convince myself to make something like that my purpose. To my stage orange mind it seems like what he's doing is inefficient because people aren't willing to care about Wisdom or Integrity or Truth. Nothing wrong with his content of course but it seems like people(People who listen to him) are the bottleneck in all this.
  15. is validation important? feel seen? then it seems like people are babies and art is a pacifier they can suck on, nobody gets up in the morning saying "Ah! ready to give everybody validation and comfort, because that's Important!"
  16. @Gili Trawangan Oh I'm not saying I can't appreciate good movies, In fact I'm a huge fan & and love them to death. but just how do you convince yourself that that's the most important work you could be doing?
  17. You get me, I'm also interested in Art an I've been considering turning it into my life purpose for months now. But I always fail to see what's the point of it, and it has to be strong! how am I supposed to wake up in the morning saying my work is the most important thing there is? how can you say that when all you do is paint or make cartoons? (which is what I'm interested in) how can cartoons or music be the most important thing there is? a person who thinks that has to be seriously misguided about everything. I can bullshit myself into thinking that Cartoons are important, but I can never bullshit myself into feeling that cartoons are important. replace "Cartoons" with every artistic field, they're all the same.
  18. I agree, every work can be seen as art. Maybe I'm not clear here, I'm trying to compare Technical people and people interested in science, math, engineering to people interested in Storytelling, books/writing, music, film, sculpting, animation, 3D modeling, Games and the rest A good example is China and their ban on Video games, I think its safe to assume that they think video games & movies and somehow harmful to society.
  19. Examples: the people we consider valuable, noble and who shaped our society Mathematicians, Scientists, Leaders, Engineers (overall technical people) 1. Albert Einstein 2. Elon Musk (Tesla,Spacex,Paypal,TBC) 3. Alan Turing (So impactful they put him on the 50 pound note) 4. Steve Jobs (Apple) 5. Bill Gates (Microsoft) 6. Henry Ford (The Ford Company) Maybe it's because Leaders are more impactful, and most Artists have no interest in Leadership it seems, but technical people do. take those I listed above and compare them to these: 1. Pablo Picasso 2. Michelangelo 3. Walt Disney (Honesty, I don't even know how something like Disneyland contributes to humankind, its all just fun and games...) 4. Every Musician ever (I googled most well known musicians, and I feel like even if you took all 50ish of them that we're listed in the search, all 50 couldn't hold a candle to a single one listed above) 5. George Lucas 6. Quentin Tarantino These last two we're the best examples. The Musicians seem to be the least valuable. it really seems like these people we're just the support pillars to inspire the people who actually made a difference. Albert was a fan of music, SteveJ loved Bob Dylan
  20. @Gili Trawangan What about artists who make action movies? those don't connect you to God?
  21. How the hell is Jordan unaware of Actualized.org if they're on the same podcast talking about Noam Chomsky, It would be awesome if more mainstream guys discovered Actualized.org, And if that's too much to ask for at least Spiral Dynamics has to get popularized So tired of only being able to talk about these things on this forum, online.
  22. It also has the most important thing of all League of Legends
  23. Leo's expectation of JP dropped so hard when he said nature is everything lol
