We could say you devote your life to just flapping your lips and exerting sound from your mouth in front of a camera but obviously you know it’s way more than that. This could be said about anything. Violinists devote their lives to stroking a stick with hair against a piece of wood their whole lives. All we have is illusion so people invest into different activities according to their passions and interests. I had athlete friends who experienced mystical states on mushrooms and acid and they reported that the experiences motivated them to improve upon their athleticism even more. Although I totally see what you’re saying. Since a kid, I always found it very odd how millions of people invest so much meaning to a man in a colored jersey running across a field with a ball.

Does an existential understanding of yourself via self-inquiry or whatever else grant mastery over survival emotions like jealousy, envy, powerlessness, anxiety, etc.? I want to reach a point in my life where I’m never affected by these feeling-sensations ever again. They may arise in awareness, but I want to have the mastery/understanding that allows me to see them so transparently that it’s safe to say that I’ve conquered them for good. I want to know if this kind of emotional mastery is possible in your opinion/experience and how being conscious of what you are plays into that. Still a pretty broad question, I know, I am talking about emotions as a phenomenon but I do emphasis the more survival oriented emotions more. Thanks

Can you please share some of your methods to induce LD? Are they spontaneous without deliberate effort or do you have a specific process to induce it? The best I can do is realize I’m in a dream but I can’t control it. Once I had a dream that everyone hated me in high school and I felt horrible. As I was going to the lunch table, I was gonna sit by myself when all of a sudden, I realized that I’m inside of a dream. I felt so relieved and happy afterwards, but yeah, I couldn’t change the setting or anything.
